We were in the game until the last 20 minutes! stupid penalties given away then did not help, the
score line flatters the Giants, but then we have to remember they had gone four matches without
a win.
It is fine to roll out the same rhetoric week after week in the press conference, but then we are not
putting the matters we see and know are wrong right, that is down to one man, it is just like the
situation we went through with Mac, so it looks now highly likely it will be a long long season looking
for the next win sometime if Lady Luck chooses to shine on us! That will not bring in new fans, have
we just accepted that now and choose to write off the season!

| It was a fast game and a real shame about Hudds scoring their 3rd try right on the halftime whistle & then us being held up over their line in the first 5 mins of the second half - if only it was the other way around. But why Golden came on in the 2nd half from the tunnel limping, only the be replaced 3 minutes later, was a mystery. Other than the last 20-25 mins we were certainly in the game until after the converted Gower try although I thought Hudds played more as individuals than a team in this game. Perhaps the turning point was when the two Broncos collided and spilt the ball (I couldn't see who they were - as it was down the other end of the field) but as jaybs says the scoreline flattered the home side but Hudds did capitalise on our mistakes late in the game when we had virtually given up. I had no qualms about leaving early much to the mirth of the friendly Hudds fans!!

| Jaybs, I assume the "write off the season" was a question rather than a statement.
I cannot see that the Club can aford to write off a whole season insofar as sponsorship deals are not done in a few weeks during the off season but start now, so if the club is looking to improve it's financial base, they surely should act now?
I bumped into a few of the Broncos Boys at their heavy weights gym on Saturday and they look to be in good shape, so I don't think that fitness or a lack thereof is the problem... but we all know that don't we?!

| Look at the England soccer team yesterday. The other team had the ball most of the game and England were chasing them for it when they wernt coughing the ball up needlessly. When we went into extra time we had gone completely. Same situation as Broncos this season.

| It was a nice touch that U12's were admitted free with vouchers the ground staff were handing out. Perhaps something London could do in the future either at the ground or getting the vouchers into local schools.

It was intended as speculation, but it could be question!
Yes major companies will start looking at their sponsorship budgets now for 2013 read for confirmation in September onwards, but does anyone in our sport of rugby league think that way? the farce with the RFL and the electronic advertising boards is just the same as the sponsorship with advertising on trucks, someone in one of the weekly rugby newspapers today said how they had seen two of the club trucks on the road, but was not sure if one was Leeds, well if a rugby fan can't tell what will someone who knows little about Super League think, for me advertising for sports coverage on Sky!
The players as you say look fit so that is not the problem, we know what is but I doubt at this stage the way the review has gone so far there will be little immediate action to put the demise behind us?

.....feel free to list the number of brilliant concepts and campaigns that have come out of TW2 Towers since that idea was first proposed as part of a 20 point plan, peoposed as some ideas that might have helped increase crowds, back in September2008?
I'd be fascinated to hear your thoughts on how we've gone from 3,909 per game to 2,783, or are you just being an idiot?

| Now GF you seriously need to get a sense of humour and admit when ideas are laughable as that part of the 20 point plan was and accept a gentle bit of taking for what it was and not bite quite so hard.
As you should know, I've agreed with the vast majority of your ideas and whilst I can be an idiot I am one that can laugh at myself.
The club will die due to two things:
Poor perforance on the pitch and the lack of marketing.
I actually think that despite your massive ego you would be the best person to market the club as your ideas (Flowers accepted ) are by in large work in most other businesses, so should transfer across.
Friends now?

| Just seen the highlights for this game.
Was it an experiment? Sarginson at 1, Dorn at 6, Howell at right centre, Lovell at left centre. That might have been OK except for the fact that a large number of players then seemed to switcheroo - Bailey defended right and left, Lovell left, right and centre. What an organisational shambles! How can defensive structures/partnerships be built on a system that resembles musical chairs?
Clueless.

We will only ever know if he is given the chance, I suggest on a Pay if he comes up with the goods that for too long now he has preached to us he can deliver with it seems a guarantee! as I have said on another thread if he does not come up with the goods! kick him out and give him no money! what can we lose or Mr Hughes?

Alas, it's not the "wit" that's missing.....it's "the get up and go"
Clever Marketing campaigns (I have worked on some Jaybs.....both in the UK and on 2 award winners over here as well) are great.....using multi-channel marketing, clever secondary response techniques......loyalty schemes that look like reward schemes....things like the Old Spice Guy (google it/you tube it...I'm on a horse) campaign......it cost a fraction of a % of their marketing budget to launch and run, yet captured over 10% of its target market......and 10% of the USA body wash market captured for about 300k is a RESULT!
....they are great and P&G or compare the meerkat et al can afford the luxury of being ably to trial and error.
London Broncos RL needs none of this......it needs a return to basics, hard work, rolled up sleeves, volunteer groups leafletting.....hard negotiations with the press etc.....
...as it is, we've had oyster card holders but still no flowers on a roundabout

| Leaflet drops are a no brainer to locals and this has always worked if the leaflet provides a discount and data capture to follow up the offer. I'm doing something like this over the next few weekends to increase the playing numbers at a local rugby club and we know from the past we'll attract 50-75 new members which for a small club is brilliant.
Broncos, as GF says need to go back to basics and graft, however, the product is so poor that you should not market it until performances improve.

All this after Powell babbled on about 'consistency' midweek. What a complete buffoon.

| Could we have a marketing sticky?
Another performance where we flatter to deceive. Their try before half time looked as if two forward passes were missed. Changes the psychy at half time. Did we do so much tackling in the first half that we ran out of steam in the last 20?

The Public have spoken...I will ease off in the Marketing stuff.......and all the problems off the park will magically vanish.
"Huddlesfield" was always going to be a loss.....2003 was the last time we got anything up there. Leeds is the only team that Powell has a winning record againts....he is 2 wins from 3 played as head coach......will it be the problems up the middle or the ones out wide he mentions to the BBC when discussing the hammering that will be dished out this weekend coming?
