Another Northern player too scared to cut the apron strings. In an ever changing world it's comforting to see that some things never change.

I think there's a good case for us getting a special dispensation to sign at least 2 extra quota players to compensate for the unwillingness of Northern players to move to London. We are not playing on a level playing field.
if we ever get the money we need to sort out some London Weghting allowance on the salary cap to help combat this problem even though it will probably only help in signing quality Aussies etc. and keeping our home grown players down here.

It's Gus's department to discuss these issues with the RFL/Superleague......if attracting players down here is directly affected by the cost of living, then I agree that David Hughes should get to lose an extra 500k a year

Not gonna happen guys, we have tried that and we provided all the data to show how much extra we had to spend to house the players etc but the other teams knocked it back everytime. And then they wonder why we always looked to Aussie players.

Micky, we're getting to the stage of what is the point of anything? Should we all just give up and forget about SL in London? I can't see anything getting easier anytime soon, sadly.

Basically you need to spend the same again on marketing and making our home games events with interesting things for kids to do like the running along the bouncy castle to score the try, for adults you need offers like ticket, beer and burger for £15 or Dad and a lad for a fiver on fathers day weekend, that sort of thing, for others you need the pre and post-match entertainment, you need cheerleaders who are of legal age (sends out the wrong message to have what looks to me like 14 year old girls from a club can't afford proper ones and makes no inroads in the 16-25 male group of which there are probably only a handful left as fans after attending has become a social embarassment to all but the hardened fans out there)

Basically we need to spend to even get a message out there, or get creative on a limited budget, and we've done neither, pumped it all into the 1st team, pumped on results and failed.

Basically the only way we win fans now is through results over a few months in 2013 and get a buzz around the place through spending a decent budget on making people aware, and also getting the SL show on national TV, might not be brilliant but it does make people aware of a national game.
