Not really a fan tbh. I like to have a couple of pints before and a couple of pints after so by the time you get to the station its 10.15 and it was also bloody cold!
I still prefer Saturday or Sunday 3pm KO's really.

| Im a fan of playing under flood-lights but Friday nights are a nightmare. Choice of squashing on the tube at rush hour, or spending 2 hours on the M25 Friday night car park. I got back to MK at 12:30am!! Will come whenever they play, but London and Friday nights dont mix unless your fanbase are local.

That's it pal. I can't grasp why any other kick off time would be better.

| I'd stop coming regularly if the club moved to Friday's. It's a total pain getting there on time, post match I just have to turn around and go home and still get home late. It's not worth that just to watch 80 mins of rugby. The pre / post match time is pretty important. If the club can get enough locals watching Friday nights could work - if you can mooch down easily after work and get home at a sensible time I can see the appeal. However, at the moment a lot of our fans are not based in London and I doubt I'd be the only one to drift away if the club were ever to move.

I suspect the 5:30 start is more to do with SS tellybox folks than Quins RL.
If it's a pain in bum for London(ish) based folks just give a thought those who had to venture beyond the m62 corridor to support their team. I'm sure a few sets of crayons will get a work out this weekend as they moan in League Express letters section about having to leave Yorkshire on a Friday to watch their team.
Whilst disapointed that we lost, Giants did play well and if they had not taken us so lightly I suspect they'd have really crushed us as a few of their fans had expected. There were times in the game were we just got on with it, sucked it up and stopped them running up a possible cricketesque score.
Had that been last season i'm pretty convinced we'd have capitulated and they would have won by 50+ points. But it isn't and we didn't.
Perhaps supporters now need to start to believe.
However we had opportunities that we neither converted nor made them really work to stop us converting. Are we a thin squad? Time will only tell as injuries take their toll and some of our "not SL ready"(Copyright Dave Lister) U20's step up to be counted.
When Ellis went off after his marriage tackle was "redesigned" we lost shape and some momentum. Karl Pryce needs to start to believe in his own abililities and truly show the RL world that he is a SL player. I think we saw a few moments on Friday.
If anyone one had said in pre-season that after 4 rounds we'd be 3-1 and the early season SL revalations I'd have said they were
But we are and we are. Just need a stand up performance next week. And a big slice of luck.
Keep the faith.

But the Friday night attendance figures always seem to compare favourably with those for similar fixtures played on Saturday or Sunday, so if there are fewer away supporters on Fridays we must be attracting more supporters of our own.
I missed this game due to a one-off commitment but Friday evening is usually going to be the best day for me in terms of always being free to go without cancelling any other plans. It does feel like a bit of a rush to get there, but I don't normally arrive until just before kick off anyway. It just means I leave immediately after the game and get to my local for a few pints by half ten instead of hanging around in Twickenham for a drink.
Saturday (or Sunday) evenings don't suit me at all, but if anyone is going to suggest evening kick offs I'd have thought a later time than 5.30 would enable us to pick up people who've been to an afternoon football or union match or played RLC matches. We also seem to have several Saturday afternoon clashes with Skolars each year, so it would even allow people to double up with that. (Personally I don't really like dashing from one venue to another to take in two matches. I'm more likely to do the earlier one, then go for a few pints.)
We probably have the most diverse supporter base in Superleague in terms of background and location, so any chosen time/day is going to be a nuisance for a lot of people. I just think we need to pick something and stick with it for a few seasons instead of chopping and changing all the time. The biggest problem with Saturdays is there are too many clashes with other events, so a lot of them will get switched to other days even before SkySports start meddling with the fixtures, then it's difficult for the more casual attenders to get into a routine of going along out of habit at the same time every other week.
Trying to take a detached view, the club simply has to find a way of pulling larger crowds. If some existing supporters drift away because the matchday/kick off time doesn't suit them, but a greater number of new ones come on board as a result the club will be better off. If I'm one of those who become disenfranchised so be it.

| It's a 4 train journey home for me when we play Friday nights, so thats a ball ache. The plus side is that I am already in central London for work, so getting there is fairly straight forward.
For me, i'd prefer Saturdays at 3 or 5:30. That gives good time in the bar before the game, and time for beer and curry after.

| Interestingly, the crowd was exactly the same as the game against Hudds in 2010. That game was a Saturday evening KO...and it was on SKY. It was 230 down on the average gate for a visit of the Giants to London and that is to be expected, as not many of them will have been able to get down, so all in all, it wasn't a bad experiment.
Friday evenings is never going to be easy for fans who have traipsed around london for 15 years or longer to follow the club, but it may well be a way to attract more "locals" to games. Wendyball pretty much rules the roost on Sat/Sun.....and then there's the other egg chasers as well....but giving the "local" population something to do on Friday might be a winner.
I appreciate that leaving The Stoop after 10pm will mean people from the wrong side of town may well not see their beds until well after midnight, but the club have to try these things.
We have Castleford and the dirty French to come on Fridays...let's see what gates we get for those games before we trot out the anual "I prefer Sat/sunday" arguments. Castlefords average for London is 3,500 odd....the snail munchers 2,864. If we can get close to these figures in April, then I think that we may see the club stick with Fridays until the "summer" months when the other codes have finished.

i'd like that as it means that i don't have to rush to the stoop after a saturday morning under 16s match, i can go and watch skolars play on sunday, and i don't have to get on a train that is completely full of people heading home after work on a friday evening

| Pretty much the same comments as per the Catalans game - we look a well-coached outfit but not likely to frighten a big club. Difference between round 1 and 4 being that Huddersfield played massively quicker than Catalans and had a decent 6/7 combo. We were probably 18 points the worse team on Friday.
Still think that Mellor (or Sarginson?) should get a bench spot so that Randall/Ellis (a) get decent spells off the field and (b) Randall plays more DH than first receiver. Still think that too many of our middle unit in defence play with lead boots on - Ward and Kouparitsas especially. Bryan got subbed/dropped for a single shocking effort in the middle a few weeks ago - on that basis, it's now time for Krasniqi or Thomas to replace Ward and, if Golden is fit, I'd prefer him to plug up the middle in place of Koups.

| The better team definitely won on Friday, though I'm a lot happier with the performance than after most defeats last year.
Hudds were faster and stronger than us and used it very effectively.
Pryce doesn't look match fit, so if he can get in and calderwood can't I'm wondering how long it will be before these two bare real fruit for us. I'm assuming calderwood has signed for another month loan as the original deal ended last Monday didnt it? Howell and nick the greek didn't impress again but Bailey Ellis and Burnett are proving to be smart acquisitions
I think we will lose the next two games putting us on W3 L3 after 6 rounds. Considering who we have played and how last season went I will be satisfied with that, and if we stay injury free I think our season will pick up again from there with hull at home and Bradford and wakefield away the next three fixtures we should have won more games than lost by then, putting us in a very good position for Easter.
Anyway back to Friday nights. I enjoy them but I think we should stick to a couple per season as it is hard for some people to make it but if it's a rarity they are more likely to make an effort. Saturdays at 5.30 while soccer is in season would be great, watching the scores come in while we warm up in the bar, gives radio London more chance of broadcasting the game, and still let's you get home for an evening out somewhere. Saturday 3pm in the summertime for me though!

Sky commentary team said on Fri. that he'd signed for another month's trial period.

| With regard to the game and our performance, I have to agree with Listy and say it was disappointing going forward. Defensively we are so much more sound this year and the attitude throughout the team is a lot more positive. Also agree with the comments about David Howell.
I'm not a fan of the Friday night kick off time - no train home until 10.22 making it a rather late night. However, to be honest I'm one of those who'd come along whatever the kick-off time.

All of which suggests a clear, thought out strategy to put games on a Friday when travelling fans are less prevalent (focused on attacking a local market) whilst keeping clubs with a large travelling support (or a brand that attracts local league casuals) like Leeds/Wire/the Hull clubs/Wigan/Saints on Saturday or Sunday. Whether we think it's right or wrong, at least it's coherent for once.

| Everybody plays Good Friday (the derbies - apart from the Airport one which is normally Maundy Thursday) and Easter Monday and all the coaches have a moan. I think a couple of years ago we moved the dragons to Maundy Thursday presumably on the basis thta there wouldn't be many away fans and we got an extra day to recover.
