On your last name/venue change and the lack of funds, do you think it was the truth fairy that bent the superleague rules to keep you in there, thr rule was (and still is for heartland clubs) that a club must be financially able to support itself to remain in the league, you couldnt till the RFL bent the rules and divvied up some cash...................... dont let the truth upset you so much

We are probably the most financially sound club in Super League. Come licence application time we will retain our SL licence, and yes unfortunately Wakefield or Cas may suffer as a result of that.....because expansion will continue. The joke actually is morons like you who live in that bubble called the M62/Heartlands corridor who can see no further than their own noses. Go get a life and annoy someone else....

er...there were no rules to be bent. The rules on what would happen to a club if they went under came about after the 2005 London Broncos implosion. So, there was no bending of rules.........RFL or Superleague rules.

I repeat, marketing is no magic bullet. For it to succeed you need a product to market and a population pre-disposed to the message. DH needs help with the former. Now. Any distraction from that point does the club a disservice.

Yes, it's true the RFL bunged us 2 million quid, cos they had that just lying around on the sideboard, they were going to spend it on pop and crisps but we needed it more. Other things I can confirm are also true for you: Elvis isn't dead, but Paul McCartney is, Lord Lucan hoaxed the moon landings, and the earth is flat because Shergar fell off the side. So now you know.

The simple matter of FACT is that Quins RL find themselves in a situation where the minority shareholder is having to "invest" 1.5 million a year to prop up the club. This is because the majority shareholder now owns Wigan and is not permitted to help.
1.5 million, using the majority shareholders calculations of appx 10 quid in income per ticket sold and the fact that the last set of accounts pointed to another 10 quid per head per game in revenue means that 75,000 extra fans a year would have negated the need for the minority shareholder to put pen to cheque book.
Fact is....and it is a fact, Harlequins Rugby League have nobody but themselves to blame for their current situation. They have never attempted any worthwhile marketing activity...they stumble from game to trying to attract fans through offers at the last minute to ST holders.....IF the club had any form of marketing plan then it would be able to identify where the 800 missing fans from 2006 have gone and who they are. I repeat....5,000 oyster card holders and a viral campaign seen by less than 5,000 people does not constitute a marketing campaign. Neither does getting a crowd less than the average for a visit of St Helens and than claiming that the Double Header was a success in the RL Press......Marketing is the key. Regardless of how crap the team are at present....we haven't even had people turn up to have a look.........

Not saying he doesn't, but this PROBLEM could have been a lot less taxing if the club had a PLAN rather than the adhoc nature of anything and everything they do....

B0ll0x........the entire club, from top to bottom needs an overhaul. Who the f()ck is going to ride to the rescue of a company shipping 30k a week with no business plan, no marketing plan and nothing going for it apart from a few kids coming through and buckets of un-tapped potential? That's 6 grand a day, 5 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. Where the hell is that going? If I had the money and as much as I am a supporter of the club...I think my financial advisor (and my wife) would have me comitted if I tried to invest in the club.

I think relegation would be good for us.
It would sift out all the deadwood fans and leave the club with fewer but far hungrier supporters who would put their all into the club.
It would give us a bit more time to bring through our youngsters and if we could return to SL quickly we would be in a strong position to push on from there ( just look at what Quins yawnion achieved)

Agree.....but a "quick return" isn't bolted on. There is a risk of the game moving ahead of us and QuinsRL or whatever we would be called never getting back to the top table
