This might sound like BS to you but HKR were poor. It's very easy for a team to look good against a poor opposition (even though I thoroughly enjoyed us looking good!). HKR beat us earlier in the season and beat us twice last season, so we had a point to prove. But they are in a slump just now so we just took advantage of that. And we lost Armstrong to injury so either another second rower steps in next week if Gids isn't fit or it's down to Jack Bradbury, who would be playing his debut. And I'm worried about why Tony P didn't re-emerge after halftime. We've already lost Maurie to injury.

You are a different proposition. You played the best try I've seen this season at the Magic weekend, you have all your staff back on board and you are looking very good. You are as capable as any team of beating any other team in the league and you are well capable of beating us, full first team or not. So, like I say, while this post of mine might seem like BS to you having watched us yesterday, I really think we will be in for a tough match at the weekend and like another poster said, I think the BBC have made a mistake in ignoring our fixture.

On the positive side if we had been on TV not many Saints fans would have travelled so now we may have a decent crowd

With all the hammerings we've taken previously over maaaaaaaany months i doubt many of us are counting our chickens. Our success seems to be reliant on too few quality players. If they get injured again we will be backpedalling again

I think the penalties conceded were the one really poor aspect of the performance. It would be bad enough if the team we were defending against were making ground but the fact is that we were keeping them well penned in by legitimate means, and this was simply inviting them to get into the game.

Spot on Jeff. I was just waiting for one our lot to get sinbinned and mess the whole thing up with excessive laying on.
We were winning with a nice margin in our favour. No need to take risks. Sometimes I wonder about the brain cells of our lot. Im still gritting my teeth over Dorny running towards the touch line on the first? tackle in our own half. Clubby I can understand but one of our most experienced pro's. Only Quins would do this.

Not so, we were missing Jones-Bishop, Golden and Williamson on Saturday and possibly Bryan, though he may have just been rested. The first two of those won't be playing against Saints and nor will Penny. And we had two props in the 17 (Jones and Williams) who got almost no game time, so we beat Hull with effectively a 15-man squad. (Hull of course lost Lauaki early, so had a 16-man squad.)

Late edit: Andy Ellis hasn't played a game all season and is still about a month away from being ready.

We ended up in the same club as your players on saturday night. A cracking set of lads although that Scarsbrook character is a far better prop than he is a dancer! As Will Sharp said to me "props really shouldnt dance".

Just stating facts as they stand at present although the club has just said that Gids could be back for this weekend. Good timing if so as we have nobody at all to play left centre or wing! So one of those spots filled would be helpful!
