| Quote So its all about appealing to all fans, sadly having the best after match party as we are continously told will NOT put bums on seats, its the thing that happens between 3pm and 4.40pm that will decide that and yesterday it was not a fun experience.
'"
I took a newbie yesterday who enjoyed the whole experience-He doesn't really understand the intricacies of league, more watched the game "generally"- He enjoyed the band and beer after the game also. Therefore his matchday experience(accepting the expectations are different to yours) was enjoyed.
The after match party may not put bums on seats but it could and does turn a £99 season tickets value to the club into lets say £300.(Not in your case as they have had there money of you as you have explained)
Travelling to London rugby is a down side compared to the average distance a Warrington fan would travel for example. I travel 60 miles round trip, I speak to people who travel 2 hours on the train, others who travel from Colchester etc. Thats life. I dont expect any more from the club because I dont live in Richmond.

| I thought it was a pretty decent first outing. Some very good defence and a good basis on which to move forward, especially when you bear in mind Quins haven't really had a preseason outing. A few daft penalties given away. The art in this competition is steady progression and peak towards the end of it, not half way through June!
Didn't see the scuffle as was following play, but wasn't surprised Moore was involved. A bit surprised to find out they got red cards rather than yellow, especially as it wasn't a dirty game.
I don't really understand all the whingeing about match day experience. You can get a season ticket (seated) on the 30m mark (either) to watch topclass rugby league for £99! A peeked cap and sunglasses would deal with the problems the sun causes for most people. We come by train from Southend - not the easiet of trips thanks to 'weekend engineering works', and Quins aren't my first love (although they are Mrs ER's) but I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday (a win for Quins would have been better).

| Bought the supporters shirt. Won't be buying the replica unless they bring out a 30 years in London heritage jersey...
Thought the team showed promise but at this stage it's too early to tell.
Looking forward to Warrington...

| Can't understand how people are gauging any positives from that. Wakefield were terrible, we were even worse. No leadership, no creativity, mistakes, poor defence especially on the right hand side. Next weeks game will be a complete humiliation.

| Oliver Wilkes was absolutely terrible. Why is Danny Orr being used as a 3rd prop, and why is Danny Ward playing like he's a stand off? Several players are just not good enough. Ben Jones Bishop is far too good for our team. If we are going to play such a boring brand of rugby then its no surprise people will fall away and crowds will drop instead of rising. I'm getting sick and tired of it tbh, and no longer look forward to a game like I used to because I know exactly what I'm going to get. A performance with no passion, players looking disinterested and McDermott talking complete rubbish post game.

One of the worst games of Rugby League I have attended. Quins were horrible and The Wildcats not much better.
Will still head to the games to get a footy fix, but if I wasnt such a league fan I wouldnt bother. Quins were horrible, I get better dispays watching Queensland Cup.

| I enjoyed it, clearly the weakest squad for many seasons but ill give them 5 games to show what they can do as a team. Wakey are decent and with a defence like that we have plenty to build on as fluency in attack comes with match practice.

Typical rubbish from a fan of a losing team and I fear a know all Aussie by the sound of it. We (Wakefield) were just fine, we won, away from home, that is all we needesd to do. If we don't have to get out of third gear to win then why should we, that as they say is your problem not ours.

Know all Aussie right here...
All I did was say that both teams were rubbish, if you're happy with your team to risk losing games by only playing 'as well as they have to on the day' then fine. Great mentality up there in Wakefield.
As I've noticed on this board (by some), in the bar post game, and chatting with the group who I went to the game with we were all of the same opinion. The game was 3rd rate rubbish, neither team looked great with the ball in hand, error rate was horrendous (to be expected at the start of the season). Yes I am now a Quins fan, but I feel that I can actually step back and see the game in its true light without the glaze of a deluded fan.
If you think yesterdays game was a great advertisement for our game, I feel you are a bad judge.

Agree 100%. Our attack, well ... what attack? If Wakey had the sun on their backs like we did first half then Brough would have rained balls down on us like it was the Blitz. Quins, well er no, let's go for the grubber (until 4.30pm when stuck one in the air in the near darkness). Maybe McD was sat in the Lexus to long and hadn't noticed nearly 4000 other people including the Wakey players shielding their eyes with the programmes!?
We may have had a great goal line defence, but I am sorry that will not win us any games if we can't create in attack - and I saw nothing on Saturday to convince me we can score form anywhere outside on the opposition 20m line.
BJB will be the new Will Sharp carting the ball up for the first three tackles. One talent now wasted for another.
BTW who was out man of the match in the WIN text voting?

| I don't know whether it was the WIN text vote, but BJB was announced MOM and Players Player (won 2 bottles of Champagne).

| Like I've said before, we can market the product to death but there is no point when we can't get the fundamentals right. The posters are a complete waste of time when that is what is actually offered. What do people actually think the aim of this expensive marketing tool is? To create an interest? To increase awareness? The money would have been better spent on a half decent player or sacking McDermott, and then relying on word-of-mouth instead of posters selling a product that effectively doesn't exist.
IMO people aren't going to wander down to The Stoop after seeing one of these posters - people will do more research into it and find out that the side are awful. And even if they did wander down, they won't be returning, we'll be stuck at the bottom of the table with no club next season after we paniced after the RFL's little warning by implementing marketing strategies that a student could come up with that are completely wrong for what we need. Sort it out.

We've got a better squad this year than previous unless of course you mean the shattering losses we've had of ollie wilkes, and jason golden to your good selves.
We've a battering ram in tronc, a centre who can pass in millard and plently of expierence and know how in morrison and newton, we'll finish more than 4 places infront of you lot.

| The fundamental weaknesses in our squad we had last season are still there this season, admittedly there was more effort than the end of last season, but the options are limited. BJB was a shining light in an otherwise turgid side.
We lack go forward just like we did last year, Danny Ward plods along in the middle without making much impact, Wilkes played okay, but he doesn't give the impact a fit Gaz Haggerty did. Wakefield had forwards coming on to the ball at pace; we didn't, we were more likely to see a halve do that. Wakefield had more creative options; we had Luke Gale looking like a rabbit in the headlights when the ball came his way after the fifth, just not good enough.
I think one experienced reasonable quality halfback and one big, experienced battering ram prop could make a serious difference, for example Ben Jeffries and Shane Tronc would make a major difference to our side. Jeffries to take the pressure off Orr (let Gale play as an impact hooker like Rinaldi was), and Tronc to give us some go forward. I don't think our backs are actually a problem, it's just that we have no platform and limited options created from the halves.
Fair credit to Wakey, they've built a workmanlike side where the combinations cover the limitations of the individuals, they've got a very good chance of making the eight, although I don't see them challenging for silverware.

| Stop spruking Tronc... The big man was blowing after 7-10 minutes, he has no lateral movement... Any half decent attack would have noticed that and directed the attack his way between 10-20 mark before he was replaced.

Morrison, Brough, Newton, Millard, Tronc, Obst etc - yep very limited and wormanlike, give it a rest.
