| Quote ="ExiledFromHull"Like LesT has pointed out, this is apparently the biggest sponsorship deal in our history. So either the Quins spin machine has been cranked up early, or this has to be the main sponsor, and as you say, the pre-school sponsorship will be relegated elsewhere. If this isn't true, this is a non-story IMO and someone is lying big style.
F**king hell Listy......dot you get bored of just going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on with your relentless derogatory and pessimistic insistence that Quins are not going to survive, cant attract sponsors, yadda yadda yadda!
Its like listening to your effing Gran moan about the world from her armchair.
Last year you moaned when St Maggys became sponsor, and just waffled about how you couldnt understand why some company like Microsoft or BMW or Google werent putting money into Quins.
This year its obvious they have gotten a sponsor who will be putting their funds into the club, have secured a deal with The Lensbury which is quite a statement in the area, yet its still not good enough for Lord Platinum Nuts Listy!
Can i bring to your attention that the St Margerats/Lensbury connection was one of the most sought after training bases for the 2012 Olympics. It was eventually secured by the South African NOC, which are widely recognised as one of the biggest and important NOCs in the world of sport!
If its good enough for them, then its certainly good enough for Quins!
So now youve got cash, and quality training facilities!
So what esle you got to moan about Listy - the fact Quins havent supplied you with a personal fluffer at half time?'"
I hear Listy does get a fluffer at Half time personally from Mac and Rupe1 gets a txt from John Wells

| Good tie up for both parties.
Quins get a 3 year deal sorted out.
Win get to pilot SMS/Interactive systems to a small group of fans, prove it works and roll it out across all sports....
Does that mean we have 3 (PAID FOR)logos on the shirt thus far?

| The list of "Proud Sponsors" scrolling across the foot of the club's web pages includes WIN and Lensbury but not St. Mary's.

| Well firstly I will congratulate the front office for scoring a major sponsor... I'd suggest that it would be the biggest sponsorship deal in 'Quins' history. Otherwise I feel it would have read London RL history.
Interesting to know the full details, I am sure it is a heavily 'loaded' contract!
I won't whinge, its a good start to the season. I wonder how ST sales are going?

| There isnt a single sponsorship deal in the world - where it is purely money!
It simply doesnt happen.
So the quicker Quins fans realise this - the better!
Have a look at any major news story, the deal is always mentioned in 'worth' - i.e. Spurs have been sponsored by mansion House in a deal 'worth' £xmillion, etc etc etc.
Do we know if that is based on a projection of how many replica shirts will be sold in a country where Mansion are big players? Do we know how much Mansion House will attribute to 'free' advertising of Spurs on their betting sites?
Do we know how much they will take in image rights, and how much IMG will calculate the sponsorship to be worth to Mansion House?
Sports Sponsorship is much much much more than a simple blank cheque.
For example, Musco Lighting sponsored the England Hockey Teams in a deal worth £1.5million. HUUUUUUUUGE we all thought!
Until the exact nature of the deal came out. Musco Lighting would charge £750,000 to install World class lighting at any new artificial hockey playing surface.
English Hockey were laying 12 new turfs, so Musco agreed to discount each pitch by £100,000.
They then agreed to £300,000 cash over 3 years, so £100,000 per year!
Net result, the deal was £300k hard cash, plus the £1.2m saved on each lighting installation.
Therefore a deal 'worth' £1.5m!!!!!

Still waiting for where you think I have commented on our sponsorship deal with The Lensbury? And why you steamed into a long post criticizing me when I said this is good news and have done from the outset?

| I'm a bit worried about the psychological angle here. Every time an opposing player carts the ball up into our defensive line he's going to see the word "WIN" 13 times. Might just fire 'em up even more.

Do you know of a business called "Lose" that's looking for a sponsorship opportunity?

Another random post out of nowhere replying to nobody then
......not starting an arguement with anyone. My post was in response to the comment by hindyscrack stating "Interesting to know the full details, I am sure it is a heavily 'loaded' contract!"
What i was trying to highlight was that even the biggest sponsorship deals are still loaded, and that 100% cold hard cash sponsorships are pretty much non-existent.
Something which you Quins fans are struggling to come to terms with!

Accepting you know a lot more than me about this than me, how (without full knowledge) do the following benefit from sponsoring
Carlsberg-Liverpool
AIG -Man Utd
O2-Eng RU
Chang -beer Everton
Thomas cook -Man City
Northern Rock- Newcastle
Jobserve -West Ham
I foolishly, it looks, thought that it was just about spreading the name-although I’m sure in some circumstances there is a lot more to it.

O2 are notorious for their bluetooth activities around twickenham, using things like hotspot experiental marketing to collect data from anyone visiting a match. For example, assuming their is a 20% take-up of this activity, thats 16,000 extra people on their database. Times this by 3 or 4 autumn internationals, and 3 Six Nations games, thats 112,000 extra people on their database. Add to this an agreement to use the England logo and selected players in their marketing activities adds to the ROI. There is then the RFU/o2 credit card. And then the hundreds of thousands of match shirts, replica match shirtsd, tracksuits, bags, sweatshirts, etc etc emblazzoned with the logo is simply free advertising.
Northern Rock and Newcastle - imagine being the marketing manager in the already saturated Mortgage market! What could he possibly use to make sure Northern Rock stands out against HSBC/Skipton/Nationwide/Halifax?
If only we had an agreement where we could use someone who was easily recognised in the local area to give me that edge? Someone like Shay Given or Michael Owen or Alan Shearer!!!!!!
Imagine the Everton Head of Communication, trying to make the team global. Theyve targetted China as an area they'd like to exploit...........how on earth could we make breaking into this market easier..........Answer: get a Chinese beer to sponsor the shirts!
