| Quote ="Dave Lister"Quite how I feel also. People are whining about sitting in the wrong stand and using that as their reason for not getting a season ticket. If things continue as they are, and McDermott is still coach, I probably won't bother either and I would suggest that my reasoning for making such a decision would not be uncommon, and certainally a more important concern for the club over those who don't like the view.'"
What a load of rubbish, typical London RL 'fan'. Any excuse to quit supporting the club. Pro sport's an up and down thing. The last couple of months have been sh** so lets all burn our season tickets

| someone had to say it the offside calls from terry albert were fair calls not random
Dont forget its actually the TJ who are policing the main offside calls ref will only pick up on those blatantly stood in front
Not 1 ref or tj in the super league correctly enforce the offside when a team are defending on there own goal line so we cannot use that excuse
I would probably agree 1 poor decision on a knock on missed think it was alker
Other than that we have no excuse

Load of rubbish - were we watching the same game ? I am not making any excuses, we were garbage, but you will recognise that a defensive line (both sides) should be 10 metres away from the play the ball - generally, the referee marks the 10 metres, if you stray within the 10 metres you are off side. Several refs like Mr A tend to let it go, my issue is why then pick on the odd off side if you are generally letting it go ?

| Actually Alibert tends to mark 12 metres and then won't penalise those standing in front. It was evident from the Wigan game this year. Everyone was calling 'they're standing in front of you' but they were actually 10 metres back. What people seemed to be missing was the amount of 'turtling' that the Wigan players were doing on ours. We could have had penalties on every tackle that night, and it's been a constant issue with just about every visiting team - and taken to extremes by Huddersfield. Yet the refs just let it continue.
As for Saturday I don't think anybody left the ground with anything other than contempt for the player's effort for MOST of the game - particularly at the end of each half and throughout most of the first. But had such a ludicrous surrender of position not taken place we'd have had plenty to complain about from Mr Halibut. I honestly can't fathom how people on here can point to just one mistake! Three of Salfords tries and one of ours should never have been given and will somebody sit Halibut down and explain the difference between forward and backward. The fact that BOTH sets of fans were chanting 'you don't know what you're doing' and 'cheat' suggest that several if not many of the calls he made were dodgy to say the least.
I'm happy to say the ref did not directly cost us the game. It's right the players and coaching should be held up for letting it get away. But let's not kid ourselves that, as per usual, we've been made to put up with some shoddy refereeing. Two poor sides but a poor ref too. Well worth the admission!
Consider the fact that while we were a long way from our best we nudged ahead after the break and then with the momentum looked like we might assert our superiority. Then because of some shoddy and inconsistent ref calls (at the key part of the second half) we faced four sets attacking our own line, followed by several other sets in a similar position and did not concede a point. When we then broke up field and got a highly dubious try to go 8 points up I thought we'd weathered the storm and earned our luck. It turns out I was quite wrong.

| I have to agree with a lot thats been said here about the team and the ref on saturday. But i wll add this about one of the Salford trys in the first half. It was the in goal touch judge that worried me. I'm lucky enough to be able to sit in the LV Stand in the Disabled Balcony,so had a good view of the first try. I couldnt believe he gave the try when a Quins player (i think it was Melling) had grounded the ball, but it popped out and Wilshire dived on it, he just nodded at the ref it was a try when IMO he was in a postion to see that Melling had grounded it first. The other thing was in the second half,we had kicked the ball though and was looking like it was going to go dead from in the in goal area, but it took a little bounce and the Salford player caught with his boot and kicked it out,but the same touch judge who again IMO had a clean view of that just pointed to a 20 metre restart. Im not trying to made excuses as all in all the team were bad on Saturday, but these two incidents could have made a little different to the out come of the game.
The teams energy levels sure look down, so does make you wonder just what they doing in training and are they being flogged to much at this end of the season. the most worring thing is what nearly everyone is saying here, is the lack of ideas in the 10/20 metres and attack. I think we tried one high ball to the corner on saturday, when other teams have kicked more then a few to Wilshire on the wing or when at FB as they felt hes a bit weak under it. as for grubbers all i can see is when someone has the nerve in our team to try it all they do is kick it against the other teams players legs.

The idea of travelling from Sheffield for 50% of the home games at huge time/financial cost to me to watch a team coached by Brian McDermott does not appeal to me in the slightest I am afraid.

Players seem very demotivated? (Coach? fatigue? who knows)'"
Maybe if you had 5 more players in the squad able to come in and pick up the slack you'd be okay. I'm no expert on the dirty quinze but I definately get the feal that you are a bit squad light.
