Why don't you go into a pub full of drunken women to sell tickets to a game and see how far you get.
Get on with your work boy!'"
WTF
OK......so name me a feminine product that doesn't use a size 8 woman that's in good nick to sell more of that product to women who aspire to be size 8 and 30 years younger
SEX sells.....simple. I didn't say it was moral.....but hey, if you want to burn your bra on here, knock yourself out.
As for me selling tickets....I did also suggest that players not in the 19 man squad could be used as well. As fit as I am I think a few buff guys'n'gals from the club may get a better result
HTH.

| I know Radio London are brilliant for RL, but does the club have any relationship with the commercial station in SW London Radio Jackie?
AFC Wimbledon has always been linked from their website as a local organization they support.
It would be interesting to know what Huddersfield have done to increase their crowds.
I know it’s been mentioned here a few times, but I agree with the comments re targeting students. Sadly our season ends at the Freshers Week time, but a big push for the start of the season with NUS card deals would be good as students are always skint around February/March time.
Also, rather than offering ST holders cheap tickets for friends at certain games, personally I would get more use out of a set number of voutchers to be used across the season, rather than offers on specific matches, although I do understand the logic of targeting matches like Wakefield and Celtic.

| I mentioned this a number of times to Greg Whittaker. I used Radio Jackie a number of times to promote the football club. (ok ok no need to nag me about it being the wrong ball) I had suggested on numerous occassions to run a quiz on the programme - weekly throughout the season and offer maybe 5 / 10 pairs of tickets as prizes. Costs little but is effective. I came into the club by Brain winning tickets in a competition and I know by speaking to others that is how they became interested.

JACKIE FM....they broadcast from the stoop on festive day if I am not mistaken.
If we did have a tie in with these guys, then the George Sampson event might have been more successful and the breakdance thingy as well.......
would be good to get them on board.

| I think more could be done to a opportunity rather than a problem out of clashes with other sporting events. Get some bigger TV screens and sound in the bar plus some decent guest beers and some folks might spend a couple of hours drinking pre / post game rather than staying home or drinking in a Twickenham pub. Recent examples would be England football, Lions, T20.

you seem to be forgetting that the main sponsor, st. mary's already has all of this. if you're going to target a university, surely this is the one. at least st.mary's has a rugby league club, something that brunel hasn't had for sometime.
and, the two universities have a huge rivalry, so im not too sure that the st.mary's management who are pumping x thousand pounds a year into the club will be too enamoured with the fraternisation of the enemy

If they had the games on the same day, one after another, perfect but unfortunately they've all been on the exact same time...

| I was in the club yesterday discussing the measures that have been posted on here re. advertising the club and games. These have been taken away to be looked at. In the meantime polar panther would you like to come and collect a poster from the volunteer table for the cafe you mentioned and ask them to display it. Anyone who wants a poster for their workplace, local pub or anywhere else can also collect form the table. This covers two of the inputs immediately. Bear with the club, there is an awful lot going on behind the scenes which they are not able to openly discuss at the moment. Have faith in them. Everything will be evaluated and lessons learnt. On another issue of how to spead the name of Quins RL. Petra and I visited a very friendly pub called 'The Bloomsbury' in Staines Road, Twickers, just been refurbished and the landlady has agreed to show our games against Wigan and Catalan on SKY and will also supply free nibbles to anyone wearing their Quins tops. The tops are to encourage a game type atmosphere which hopefully will rub off on the locals and get them interested. If enough fans go along it could become a regular meeting place to watch games on a friday / saturday evening. Everyone has asked the club to get in the faces of the locals - this is a way we can all help to do it whilst enjoying the challenge.

The Bloomsbury is located handily for a short walf from Strawberry Hill and Fullwell stations and is also serviced by a number of buses, including the 110 and H22. [url=http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=514634&y=172739&z=0&sv=TW2+5BB&st=2&pc=TW2+5BB&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srfSTREETMAP[/url
On Friday, July 3rd, trains (32 mins) leaving waterloo at 18:13 18:35 18:43 and 19:05 will get you there in plenty of time.
The H22 bus runs from Hounslow every 12 to 15 minutes and the journey takes 15 minutes. The 110 runs every 20 minutes.
The club have really made an effort with this and I will be emailing the awaycrew list I have and putting it up on facebook. For those of us who can't make away games on a regular basis, this is an opportunity to get "our own pub" and I would urge you all to get down to the Bloomsbury on Friday 3rd July......
As the old saying goes......"use it or lose it"

| That's great news! Fed up of trapsing round London to try and find a pub that will show League. Would also make a great change to watch some games with people who are interested, rather than the missus who seems to prefer reading the paper instead. Looks like a nice place...the CAMRA tag means real ale I'm guessing? Mmmmmm
