It's been a while since we've been a promising anything, but that might be a step too far.

So we are signing players who were playing in L1 last year, 2 of whom who were at bottom 3 sides?
We have a L1 coach, building a L1 squad....all aboard the Bronco Funbus of 2022...satisfaction and relegation assured and all for Just £200 a year (parking not included)

Looking at it one way you could infer the “Board” were impressed by JCs detailed knowledge of L1 and its players ....which is slightly worrying. Nothing wrong in signing up promising youngsters but my tiny suggestion would be to remain Championship or SL2 status a few SL or solid Champ players will be needed.

Curran and Oakley retained. As I suspected that electrician course he took during lockdown meant he. Could fit with PT. Oakley is another one in the promising bracket. Hope he pushes on and hope Curran can influence us a bit more this year.

CIA interrogation tactics include knocking you down mentally then rebuilding you back piece by piece....seems London Broncos decided to go scorched earth and are now trying the same..... Signing L1 players from the bottom half of that table whilst retaining players that helped us miss out on the playoffs isn't exactly groundbreaking, but because the club looked dead a month ago, some people are applauding mediocrity

I'm not exactly dancing on the ceiling here. My point was, considering what I expected, this is a slight improvement, hence getting my attention a little.

Matches my feelings. We do however need to sign quite a lot of additional players in a short time frame to simply get back to where we were before Fozard et al left. I think it’s clear Aston and Gwaze are off to Halifax. Nothing on Boafo and Walters. If we could keep them that would be handy especially as all our ‘rivals’ appear to be strengthening.

Boafo, Leyland, Hindmarsh and Egodo would be decent to keep hold of. I wonder if Sammutt may end up as a player coach

I said it is looking a bit better. A bit better than a total show. In reality, we need to have a stronger squad than last season to be competitive in the Championship and we are nowhere near that yet.

I’d forgotten about Sammut! As he played a large part in getting us over the line in a number of games I hope he stays as well. Considering he’s about 50 he is very sprightly and a good example to the younger players. Unlike pretty much every one else in our squad he had the X factor. His family is in the North though I believe so he may not fancy it.
I’ve said before Egodo looked overweight or unfit. He seemed to have lost a yard of pace, so I wouldn’t be too upset if we rolled the dice there. Hindmarsh looked good in 19 & 20 but not so impressive this year but I agree we should keep. Leyland I’m not sure about but he is home grown and worth developing.

Up to the coach and what sort/style of game we are going to play, but for me I'd like to see us go fast, quick and constant. To do that we need well drilled ball handlers aplenty and a fit pack with at least one gnarly moffo enforcer to stop the kids getting bullied.

With the season basically starting at the tail end of winter, followed by a wet spring, we'll also need a secondary pack, with at least 2 more big forwards and a half with a kicking game. Let's hope the Aussie HGV drivers get green flagged soon

Encouraging we are giving two year contracts.

I assume the plan is we do well enough in the 2 years to possibly return to full time thereafter. It certainly protects the team next season but of course if things go pear-shaped, we are back to square 1 with no team in 2 years.

Either way things don't seem as dark as a week ago but still heavily overcast.

Or simply to bounce straight back up.after a year of settling in together in our new home
