I remember (I think) him playing against us at Griffin Park once, so quite a few years ago. Thought he looked useful then, especially his long kicking game, but really never heard much more about him. I suppose he reminded me a bit of Peter Lupton, plenty of skills, but a crucial lack of pace maybe?

You may well be right as he made his SL debut for Huddersfield during our last year at Griffin Park. The game I remember him for was at Huddersfield in 2008, when he completely took us apart and kicked a string of impressive goals the week after our famous home win against Leeds.

His girlfriend was working as a barmaid in my local pub earlier this year while at university in London, so if she’s still around it may well suit him to move to London.

If there is any part of our game that really needs sorting out its our long kicking game. (And Englands). Ours is appalling and has put us on the backfoot all season. However if we've signed Bailey for standoff doesnt that mean our current stand off Luke Gale will have to move to No.7 ?

Luke Ambler has now joined us and starts pre season training tomorrow .Also a young wing/fullback who has been released by Hull KR has come down for trials but dont know his name yet .Sorry no link and if i told you how i know i would have to shoot you and that wouldnt be very good for our attendance next season

I'm not just saying this, but Mike Ratu is absolutely awful - Clubb is like Greg Inglis in comparison. I doubt it will be him though, as Ratu is a centre/wing AFAIK.

You're probably right, it was the only name I could think of. Nice to know that you've found a worse centre than Clubby though.

From what I read on the HKR board, Ratu was homesick for Rochdale (honest!) while living in Hull so I doubt he'd settle well in Richmond,

But we already have a very quick but young flyer in the Academy don't we, who has had a few 1st team outings? If this guy isnt good enough for the first team I don't see the point.

He's not actually played a first team game for us, he played in the pre season friendlies but his brother sam played in the first team about half a dozen games when we had injuries. He's a better full back than winger imho not exactly got blinding pace but is solid. Had a good couple of seasons in our reserves without ever really looking like making the first team, as someone mentioned had a serious knee injury which wrote off the second half of last season for him.

He did have an off season training with parramatta a couple of seasons ago with his brother which he sorted out for himself. I'd heard he'd been offered some sort of scholarship studying at loughborough which might be why he's looking for a club down there, he never looked like getting a new contract with us mind and can't really see him playing superleague with you lads to be honest he's a good honest tryer but can't say I've seen the obvious potential that some are claiming.
