| Scottish international flyer who seemed to get on very well with the guys from the North of England when he played for Scotland so that bodes well for him as a character and it also continues our snapping up of former Manly players which is nice. Hat trick in an NRL final and country origin last year as well as someone who consistently plays alot of games so he is not prone to injuries, infact he played 139 games in a row for Manly nor is he someone who has to take the only offer he could get.
When was the last time we actually signed an exciting winger from the NRL, I honestly can't think of one.

| The Aussie media have a habit of calling us London Harlequins. In the NRL match programme "Big League" we have always been referred to as London Harlequins in their Super League results/table section. When we had the WCC warm up games with Manly and Melbourne, both sides called us that on their websites.
Back to Robertson - fantastic signing. Very excited about next season!

| Its to give a reference to where the club is located in the UK for my fellow Aussies...
But seriously, can we back off the sea eagle signings? Cant stand any team that wears maroon!
In other news, I will get to my first game since June against the Bulls... great value this years season ticket!

| WOW what a signing. For those who don't know a great deal about him, IMO this is the best overseas signing any side has made this year. Fast and an absolute superb finisher. Quins are building a frightingly good squad and one that will be serious title contenders next year. Superb signings.

We need a good coach to bring it all together, and no news on that yet.

Strange that they feel the need to do that, seeing that we're given to understand that Harlequins is an instantly recognisable global brand.

| I've just watched last weekend's Brisbane-Manly game. Robertson was covering for suspended Brett Stewart at full-back, instead of on the wing. He was fantastic, rock solid under the high ball, he brought down Yow Yeh in space in the open, stopped a couple of drives on the line, getting a steal from one, and was still able to get under Manly's bombs at the other end. He could be as good as McLinden. Great move, who knows how we pay for it. I don't expect us to win the league, but winning more home games than we lose feels like the promised land at the moment.

| I honestly look at our signings of Gower, Witt, Robertson, Rodney and Kaufusi and think most NRL clubs would be happy with that business. Now lets kick on from there and bring in a few more props to add to Kaufusi because we have allowed our early season form prop to return to his old club and the other two seem to be suffering from playing for a team that gets scored on so heavily every week.

| He's a very good signing, not sure how he'll cope with the cold at the start of the season but once the weather improves we'll have a good 'un.

The NRL teams train in the summer and play the regular season in autumn and winter finals footy in spring. Obviously they can go from Auckland to Townsville to Melbourne, then onto Sydney in a bad month but for me the biggest difference will be the pre-season training in the cold. I'm not sure what all weather sites we can use but our setup is lightyears behind some other sporting organisations in that area, but I'd back Robbo to start the season flying and for him to be a strike runner on the touchline, not a winger that makes more metres than the forwards, leave that to Colbon, Melling and O'Callaghan.

I suspect the signings for next season appear to be happy with the current coach and his plans for the future under written by The Chairman and a further three year SL licence.
It'll be great to see the sarf risin' in 2012!!!!

As I've said elsewhere a strong Harlequins would be excellent for RL and hoping to spread the game in the evil Southern regions. Hopefully an increase in on field performance will be mirrored in both attendances and interest.
It would be even better if Rob Powell could deliver this as a young British coach and I guess only time will tell.

You do know he's from Canberra?
I'm more bothered about how I'll cope with the cold at the start of the season.

| I'm really chuffed with this signing. It will be such a change to have try-scoring wingers here.
I watched the Broncos Manly game again and was very impressed with Robbo. Can't wait to see our new acquisitions in action again this weekend.
I think we will now have 7 ex-Manly players in the team next year (and we've had quite a few in the past too). London City Eagles, anyone?
