Doesn't the Rosebine belong to the RFU?

Was this in the club car park as i am planning to park there next week.

It was in the Car Park on the main road dual carriageway outside the ground. At the first entrance we were told by two stewards to use the next car park 100 metres on the left. This was were most fans and coaches were parking. A guy came up and asked for £5. I then asked for a ticket and he just looked bemused asking if i really wanted one.

When we returned after the game, the back window behind the drivers seat had been smashed to get into the boot from which a coat had been taken. There was no sign of any security or attendants.

I think it is very poor that £5 can be charged for basically doing nothing. I don't know if it is an official club car park, possibly not with no tickets being issued, but I certainly would advise against anyone parking there in the future.

I think we may have been parked next to you, we were in a green corsa and also had our back window put in.
We have been told that radio humbeside had been asked to advise anyone affected to contact harlequins on monday. Our main complaint is that there were no attendants to report to, they seem to just take your £5 and go.

This is the first I've heard of issues with the Rosebine car park so let the club know ASAP. This is obviously a major problem.

we've parked there before without a problem. I would imagine the carpark was targeted due to it being dark and no visible car parking attendants. I think with the imminent lighter nights it will be less of a problem.

Yup, as far as I know (I've only parked there twice) there supposed to be someone patrolling the car park while the game is on, the club needs to be aware if that is not happening.

Ive e mailed the club about this and other matters concerning parking at the Stoop.

Spoke to a very helpful lady at Quinns today called Petra who promised me the matter was going to be thoroughly investigated. She said all stewards should be clearly marked with the usual yellow fluorescent clothing. The guy who took my money just emerged from a car with no identification at all and charged me a fiver. I am informed that as there were five of us in the car, the charge should have been £3 plus we should have been issued with a ticket.

We had arrived early at around 3pm to take in the reserves match too.
If anyone else arrived early and was not issued with a ticket or had their car damaged, I suggest they contact the Harlequins club.

At the entrance to the said car park a metal sign clearly stated that
parking was a fiver. Like you I wasnt issued with a ticket either and the price discrepancy forms part of my e mail to the club.
Im certainly not tight fisted but the customers deserve to be charged the going rate and preferably be able to return to their car to find it as it was left. Its good to hear they are investigating though.

It's always been £5 hasn't it? At least it was when we parked there in '06

It may have been back then but I was informed by the club
at the start of the season that it ranged between £3 and £8 depending on
the numbers in the car., I assume that is for the Rosebine as I have always been charged £5 when I have been able to access the main stadium car park. The only reason I know this is because I enquired about buying a seasons pass for the main car park but was told the club were not issueing them.

The Rosebine got rid of that "numbers in car rule" for at least 1 game last season (only parked in there once) and its something they only do for the Rugby Union.

Not according to Zaphod who spoke to the club this morning or the contents
of the e mail I received prior to the start of the season.

Yer, again only going on previous experience of last season, where the board had 2 sides to it, one for RL and one for RU.

According to the Quins Ru come all within site there was another
theft from motor vehicle in the Rosebine during sunday`s Heineken Cup
fixture.

Hi, we are travelling down on Sunday by car and having read all of the above, I am a bit concerned about using this car park, although we never had problems other years. Can anyone recommend any other parking areas within walking distance of the ground?

There is the college car park about 100yards before the ground entrance as well as the Rosebine.

Haven't heard of any trouble from our last home game, plus this next game will be during daylight hours.

Glad I do not come by car......to 'claimed crime free' LB Richmond....however, think the Club needs to place a 'statement' both on this Forum and on it's web-site today regarding the charges and 'security' stewarding on the various car parks serving the Stoop.

At least to reassure Hull KR and future visiting fans that their cars will be looked after when they park in the 'official' nearby car parks and that any damage/theft is fully covered by QRL insurance. After all Richmond is an upmarket borough and should not get a name for 'matchday' parking problems.....like some clubs in the 'heartlands' have.......no name, no pack drill!!

The club responded to my e mail by claiming that following the thefts and
criminal damage at the Hull game that they would be posting stewards to
cover the Rosebine from opening right up to the final whistle on match day.
Prices are £3, £5 or £8 depending on numbers in the car and not £5 across
the board as has been charged to my knowledge previously this term.
Those parking can also now expect to receive a ticket as receipt of payment.

I was also told that parking in the main stadia area was possible for non corporate types and Gold season ticket holders within half hour of the start of
the game, subject to availability.

So was the Heneiken cup fixture though which did not prevent a theft
from occuring.

No car park any where offers this.

They do in Old Fulham's head, where all his friends reside.
