We haven't had that sort of attendance against Widnes since 1981!

Amazed at all the confidence on here...I'm hopeful of a win but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Widnes won. After all, we only just beat them down here last year and they have strengthend their squad and we haven't!

Hopefully, the TR factor will kick in but our record of winning the first home game of the season is awful....2 wins in the last 10 years! Hardly inspires confidence.

Quite enjoying this thread. Overconfidence was mixed with arrogance from quite a few. And that was half of our team.

I don't know what was worse - Widnes's kit or the officials' kit.
We looked fitter than Widnes, but didn't have any punch or real zip until the last 15 minutes.
We weren't aggressive in defending at play the ball.
Dixon seemed to be targeted (fairly), with Widnes trying to drag him over the line a few times.
Widnes players seemed to be picking up a lot of injuries (though the interchange count was pretty level throughout the game)
I think we dropped the ball over the line or were bundled out three times. So frustrating.
The centre of the defence looks ok, the wings less so.
We need an extra 5% to beat teams like Widnes.

And to cap it all, it's Huddersfield away next week

Widnes exploited the weak links in our defence. We didn't seem to show much purpose until fairly late in the game.

We had a lot missing today as well, count yourselves lucky

in all seriousness though keep your chins up, some results have been very interesting this weekend.

Woeful-Utterly Woeful

Today was as bad, if not worse than anything under Powell. Added to the debacle in the shop where they sold out of the most popular sizes of all shirts by 2pm - it really has made for a most depressing day. I am sure the move to Gillingham next year will solve all these issues though

You were unlucky with the gower injury. However injuries are part of the game. We had 5 starters missing. We seem a lot more clued up this year, albeit only after one game. Tidy little ground you have

We weren't woeful. On another day, we'd have had put our chances over the line and it would have been closer. The centre is fairly solid.

No chips. Noodles, pork, sausages, but no chips.

Couldn't have put it better. A good performance by Widnes nonetheless. But poor finishing and a failure to do the simple things correctly. Kieran Dixon was superb though for Broncos, I thought.

I do pity Widnes fans though- if the bloke sat on the Broncos side shouting crap all game is a Naughton Park regular, it musn't be fun.

At one stage it looked like we were going to be nilled by the Widnes 2nd string.

Widnes deserved the win and played to their strengths, slowing down our play the ball and some good goal line defence. In my opinion we were never in the game.

Why did the forwards not set a platform? We took the ball in once per set then went wide to Gower and off we go. Kaufusi didn't take the ball in once during his first spell. Utter tripe we really were.
Considering how much territory we had we should have won today- To Widnes credit they scrambled really well

I really wanted to be positive about the Broncos in 2013......but in reality, they are heading for Kent and eventually the championship.....hopefully DH will pull the plug sooner rather than later, because at the moment it's akin to watching a cancer patient fade away and die slowly..



(no disrespect to anyone who has lost a loved one to the C btw, it's just how I feel at the moment
