Found out at the weekend that there are major engineering works on my rail line into London from the Kent coast which involves train, get off and sit on a bus for god knows how long, get back on another train just to get into London let alone get across to Leyton Orient's ground. As I am on a walking stick at the moment recovering from two bone ops I am afraid that I don't feel like facing a 6 hour round trip. If anybody is coming up from further down the coast or from Faversham, Sittingbourne, Rainham, Gillingham etc it is get off at Rainham and catch the bus.

Westy - will be interesting to see how the O's stewards behave....I well remember what the jobsworths what like at Charlton...talk about heavy handed (another good reason not to get involved with soccer clubs).

Like Marilyn, we've got engineering works on our rail line and although not as bad as Marilyn's, got to drive to another station which is a right pain (another good reason not to have matches on Sundays...too much hassle on transport round London!).

I've been to Orient in the away section four or five times now and there's one particular steward who is an absolute <insert rude word here>. He's running around all the time telling people to sit down or stop singing. I always wonder if he's as proactive when rather than 200-300 away fans it's Millwall or some other moody local team. Probably not!
I like the club and have always been able to have a pint and a chat - and even a sing song - with the home fans in that large pub popular with away fans on the main road near the away stand but some of the stewards are proper eejits!

My train line seems like the only one that is actually running in Kent this weekend. In fact, the service is even better than usual on Sunday.

what kind of attendance are you expecting for this one?

Traditionally the club has set itself high targets and missed them by huge margins and then declared the crowd as somewhere between the two.

Well at least everyone will be able to exchange their vouchers for a match ticket on the day now.

Must admit I know 4 STH that won't come to this game as they won't travel to East London and a couple won't watch at a football ground.

jbuzza - don't know why you think less than 4000 would be poor. We rarely get over 4000 for the Bulls and we are in the middle of a disappointing season on the pitch. 3000 will do for me as things stand at the moment.

Maybe we pick up people who cannot find the olympic stadium and think it is a warm up event for july.

Thats really disappointing. Just shows why we lose so many fans when we move. Just pray that when the time comes if we move we have improved as a team and can attract more new fans than we lose. Whe nwe were at Charlton i was able to get a few newbies along rach season because it wa 'relatively' near to Catford and sometimes i could offer a lift. When we moved to the Stoop it was a non starter because of the distance and trouble it took.

Because it is a one off game designed to attract new fans. If we get the same sort of crowd we normally do we will have failed in the objective.

I found it exactly the same friends in London liked The Valley, Charlton! gave up at The Stoop except for the first season 1997, they never visited Crystal Palace Sports Centre, Brentford or Barnet, then of course not The Stoop this time, it was too far a journey they felt. You will never please everyone, the Million Dollar question which area would be best supported if we do survive???

They would all be roughly as badly supported without more effort to sell the game. There is no evidence to suggest location is a factor in our attendances.

That's your opinion and I respect, but if we do survive I do not see it being the stoop.
