| Quote ="Dave Lister"There is nothing on the temporary website offering supporters to contact anyone at the club, never mind him. This launch was apparently planned for weeks/months, yet nobody could bother knocking together a proper website. Pathetic, no?'"
I have to agree.
I genuinely expected a fully-functional, multi-featured website to be unveiled on the launch day. The club are selling themselves as something different to Harlequins RL but aside from the new name and badge, what's new? I'm a fan and even I'm getting less excited about 2012 with each passing day. Where's the big coverage of the launch event? Where are the interviews with coaching staff, new players etc.? Why isn't the website trying to sell us a team that could be play-off contenders? Why aren't the likes of Robertson, Gower, Kaufusi etc. being paraded? (I'll overlook the fact that the website isn't actually selling us much by way of merchandise while the launch is still fresh in our minds). In short, how is the club building towards generating 5000+ optimistic LBRL fans at Round 1 of 2012?
There are massive problems with the club's online presence. Frankly, londonbroncosrl.com screams amateur - technically and in terms of (a complete lack of) content. Hughes must be ready to write off about £2.5m over the next 3 years; if he were willing to lift that to £3m, he could get a web developer and a database developer in to turn the website into something that can sell the club.
I signed up for an e-newsletter. Haven't had one yet. The first one should have been sent out within days of the launch and they should be weekly thereafter - you can fill them with any old , it's the contact with supporters that's important. I thought the launch event was great BTW but it is already a fading memory as nothing is being built on top of it.
But back to the ticketing. The ticketing is not only a communications problem but also a technical problem with the software - I'm still waiting for an email reminder of my password otherwise I might have signed up for a season ticket by now. Harlequins RL made it difficult for customers, likewise London Broncos it seems.

| To add some enthusiasm to the thread I am getting more and more excited about next season. I ordered the ‘We’re Back’ t-shirt and it looks good. The logo looks good and I am sure the new top will look great on the field.
The squad looks so much better than last year and if Gower doesn’t fire straight away we have options. In fact we options and competition for all places. This year we kept all our best players from the youth system. This is a team that should make the playoffs. If our creative players spark and we can bring up one or two more quality youth players we should be looking for 5th or 6th and a home playoff game.
The club did the right thing launching the new ‘brand’ in the week before Wembley but not rushing a poor website. Admitting it wasn’t ready will give us another launch pt. The new players won’t be in the country so they won’t be on display till they arrive for preseason training. Again another chance for press coverage.
The futures bright… the future is black, blue and a hint of silver.

But the website should have been ready. It's a depressingly familiar message that it wasn't/isn't. The ticketing software definitely should have been up to the job from day 1.
The players don't actually have to be in the country to supply pics/quotes/video messages.

Why the angst?...........do you really expect to have loads of interviews with players and back room staff, some of which may not even be in the country yet. If they had been in the UK then all probability they would have been part of the launch. Do you really expect the club to do all the marketing you describe at this point in the off-season, surely it would be better to take a measured approach leading into the start of the season rather than run out of steam now?
Ok the web site is not impressive, but I thought the club had declared that this was work in progress. The same could be said of the RLfans.com web site and administrators in that we have all been aware of a name change and re-launch for weeks/months, yet when you first enter the RLfans web site the Super league pull down menu still states `Harlequins`…………….is this equally unacceptable and should the RLfans admin guys be sacked for incompetence (it would never have happened in Homers day ).
Not sure what you are expecting from a Newsletter, not much by the sound of it as `it can be filled with any old poop`, so why worry about it. On the 2nd November an email communication was sent out by chiefexec@londonbroncosrl.com with a brief update of what was going on……couple this with the web site info what `other old poop` do you need to know?
Regarding the ticketing………..call me old fashioned but ever thought of picking up the phone and speaking to someone. I and quite a few others I know tried it, nice girl at the other end clearly explained the ticketing arrangements and answered any questions I had and season tickets were purchased accordingly………….but I suppose if you were expecting David Hughes or Gus to hand deliver you a fantastic value season ticket then you could be forgiven for being easily disappointed.
The club have invested heavily in putting an improved team together for next year, they are offering great value tickets and marketing shows all the early signs of the improvement that fans have been asking for, but you are still disappointed and not looking forward to next season……to be honest I think this says more about you than it does the club.
Feel free to carry on whinging.

| Getting back to the original topic, I think the season ticket deals are fantastic value.
I have always thought unallocated seating is the best bet as you have flexibility when you bring friends (and you can move away from miserable or annoying sods).
We have always had the dearest seats on the halfway line, but we didn't like ours last year as the people around us seemed to like a library atmosphere.
I do like the best seats but unfortunately for me, now we have the unallocated system and the nice members bar with real glasses, I don't think I will ever get to see the game from the h-w line again as we won't get out of the bar in time.
I guess we could always get the cheap tickets so we aren't waylaid in the bar thereby saving our money and livers.

You absolutely don't launch a 'work in progress'. And even if you did, you'd make it clear what progress was to be expected and on what timetable. 'Coming soon' has been the club's unofficial strapline for as long as I can remember and it inspires no confidence for me.
And it would be best if the ticketing software worked. (But rest assured I'll be phoning the club and buying a ticket).
I'm just looking for noticeable improvements on the Harlequins RL operation because I desperately want to have a club to support in 2015. If the relaunch doesn't bring us 2.5k season ticket holders, 10k for the first home game, and 4-5k thereafter then 2013 and 2014 will witness yet another slow decline into yet another crisis because we can't re-launch again. If it were me, I'd be pushing the new Broncos much, much harder than the temporary website is doing. November is the key month for sales - on the back of the launch and while tickets are cheapest; promotional efforts should be at their highest right now not in January.

Agree with many points, the website could have been completed quicker, but your 10K for the first home game is a little high for me, many teams in the heartlands of the North would love to get those numbers, I would settle for 6K, we have to build over time not expect miracles overnight, it is an ongoing marketing job.
I just Hope with One Third of the tickets sold for Wembley being sold to London postcode addresses we have the right for that data base if they have agreed to receive further information of course, what we then send them must be striking and professional not just a photo copy letter.

First home game as Quins got 8200 so we should be looking to match or beat that.

| Pingwing- the extra £76 gets you and a guest access to the members bar (which I believe is the one in the LV or west stand) which is quite a nice bar (although I don't think you get any extra sorts of real ale- maybe someone should ask? Shame theres not enough RL fans to justify opening The Quins Head which is a bar in a marquee but with Sky sports and real ales). Like us, don't think you are bothered about the free car parking which is also included, and other bits.
I think my ST will be cheaper than it was when we moved to the Stoop 6 years ago. £176 or £99 is a bargain for elite sport, imo.
One thing I'm not sure of, is will we still have our after match awards and party? I know we haven't had much to party about these last few years but when we've had a win, we've had some cracking nights in the Kings Bar.
Some of us have got lost in the ground after prolonged celebrations...

| Website: As I have alluded to, I am no fan of the company providing this service......I don't see how hard it would have been to take the data from the old site (old news etc) and transfer it to the new site........but then again, I am not a web developer. I am sure it will be OK when it's up and running....the company who I am no fan of do have a pretty expansive client list
[urlhttp://www.sotic.co.uk/clients/index.php[/url
Ticketing: I am over this already.....FFS, if yo're not happy pi55 off to the skolars next year 99 For a years Rugby is a cheap as chips and looking at the team assembled so far, you might even have to look at buying a home play-off ticket for a whole 15 quid....that'll give you somethig else to moan about!
Ticketing Website: I have heard little if any complaints from the Union lot about this...and it's the same friggin website PICK UP THE PHONE or as I said, pi55 off and watch the Skolars.
Attendances: Target should be 25% year on year growth, putting the club on 7,400 by the end of 2014......Not impossible......especially if the ST holders all use their 10 voucher offer. Opening game should be a fiver for Every QRL ST holder and fill the South Stand with the youngsters who play the game at schools level.....10,000...less than that and I'd be disappointed. (depends on the opposition)
Merchandise: Disappointing the shirts wont be out for Xmas, but it's not the end of the world. T-shirts have been delivered to the half way point (Dyslexic Windyone) and will be in NZ by next week......there will be other stuff in the shop by seasons KO and it really is the least of our worries.
Marketing: So far, so good, It will go a bit quiet now for a while but the PR machine is still working with the local press and on-line radio blog interviews ongoing.
Newsletter: Something I do know about.......you only contact your audience if you have something to say...what's the point of using the credits for emails (yes..they cost money) to say nothing? I am sure the team are back in training soon......that would be the next time I would be sending anything.
Fans: I am probably have been one of the more vocal critics of the club over the years, but I am stunned at some of the negativity on these boards.....the club are trying new things......they should be applauded for this not slagged off at every opportunity.

Of course the suggestion was nonsense and as you well know that was the context of how it was worded in my post…………..it was meant to be as absurd as some of the constant knit-picking and criticism being levelled at the club over the recent changes, promotional efforts, ticket sales, web site etc etc.
We have been terrible for a number of seasons and not too long ago we looked like we might seriously fold, but DH has come up with additional funds, we seem to have recruited well, marketing has been put in place etc, but all this seems to be forgotten by many. Rather than appreciate the positives and take a mature view on the current changes some would rather just wallow in their own misery and negativity. Yes we know things can always be improved (you will never please everybody anyway) but none of the gripes posted on here are the PR disaster some would have you believe.
If we are fortunate to get off to a good start to the season and win our home games all of the crap directed at the club will soon be forgotten……..mind you if we continue our losing streak that will be a different story.
PS- I see the pull down menu on the RLfans site still says `Harlequins`

| My only concern on the ST pricing is that it is costing the club money and we are not exactly flush! Many people I spoke to a Wembley on Saturday were going from the expensive to £99 as they had no need of a parking space or if a couple only having one expensive as they didn't need 2 parking tickets. They weren't bothered about the bar so why pay 70 odd quid more. However many 70 odd quids the club loses is surely too many. Also while not a huge source of income I dont expect there to be many player sponsors next year after what happened at the end of the season.

| After missing most of last season, I'm quietly optimistic for the forth coming season. I have secured my season ticket (a bargin at £99) and have also encouraged staff from my new work who live in the area to check out the Broncos.

My brain has a built-in spell-checker. Blame it on my primary school if you like. And so has my PC.
I've no idea what restrictions the mobile version imposes on you, but I thought the spelling issue was a valid point to raise against you given that you appear to expect 100% attention to detail from the club, under-resourced as it no doubt is.

Also while not a huge source of income I dont expect there to be many player sponsors next year after what happened at the end of the season.'"
Its a fair point PP but I remain hopeful that there will also be plenty who will still opt for the Super Bronco £175 ticket. There is only 1 person in our group who would probably make use of the parking but we have all gone for the £175 to maximise flexibility on match day for our use of the bar and the guests we hope to bring along. For once ST holders and guests can sit together in the stand and also enjoy the best of the facilities. We have also taken the view that at £175 it is still great VFM and we are happy to pay this to the club. I fully appreciate that other peoples views and circumstances may be very different but hopefully the £99 ST will prove to be a great draw and the additional takers will counter the shortfall you describe.

| Quote ="Dan Stains woz God" Shame theres not enough RL fans to justify opening The Quins Head
If there were enough punters could we have it called the Nag's Head for our games ? Now we're back to being Broncos!

I've no idea what restrictions the mobile version imposes on you, but I thought the spelling issue was a valid point to raise against you given that you appear to expect 100% attention to detail from the club, under-resourced as it no doubt is.'"
So a spelling mistake is on par with a getting a whole strately wrong? Have a word with yourself.
