| I really do hope in the future they play Wigan at Gillingham. Would love to go to that match. I would even try and get some of my old mates from the Medway area to come.

Must admit I would have preferred re-visiting Orient.

| I just don't see the Medway towns as being a viable target market. Compared to London - I just don't see how this works. Okay, so there's the Medway Dragons. And they're doing well. Fine. But that's not a weather vane for moving the whole operation there lock stock and barrel. With these on the road games we're taking our eye off the ball and it concerns me greatly.

Agree Fully! but I do get worried how we keep looking to Gillingham, is Gus going to see this as our future?

Would that be a bad thing? The stadium at Gills is probably big enough for you. Would still classed as an expansion club in the RL's eyes. Just might have the stability you need.

| If we lose london from the name that is the end for the broncos. Better to stay put there needs to be a big effort in the local area. However I doubt this given our past history. The otr game as a one off is useful to raise the games profile although I am not sure moving to Gillingham will be good for the dragons who may have their own vision of the future.

| London Invicta. Still use the London name and use/incorporate the White Horse of Kent. So potentially still the Broncos of sorts.

I don't see how you can be both London and Invicta. How many London based fans are going to schlep to Gillingham every fortnight? I can tell you I wouldn't. We might settle into a 3-4000 crowd average but I fail to see how we'd build on that. Outside of the Medway Dragons club I don't see any evidence of RL really taking hold down there.
Moving out of Greater London is a complete non-starter if we ever actually want to develop a larger fanbase.

| It may attract more people in Kent, who want to see some top flight sport. I think Gills is the only team in a major league, i can think of. With the exception of cricket maybe.

The football club doesn't attract that many. Half of that might be realistic.
2011-2012: 5,146 (League Two)
2010-2011: 5,231 (League Two)

| If you can't get the people of Kent to watch professional soccer then you won't get them to watch anything. I doubt we would average 2k there in the long run.

You can.
Only it involves Charlton Athletic hiring coaches to bus them in to London.
Oh, the irony ...

| If it had to be one of last years grounds then I would have preferred Orient as it is cheaper to get to as it is in [iLondon[/i and doesn't need an extension or supplement to get to by train.
Would have been good to promote the fixture a bit more in Leyton too as last year 0 was spent due to the fact no one even knew if Bradford were going to be able to make the fixture.
And running out of beer should have been unforgivable

Shut it Godber
5,000 attendance, regardless of the number of freebies and kids, will be enough to convince the club that a move to Kent is the way forward...and as Listy has already said, they will be on 2k averages within 12 months there, because they'll just roll up, stick posts in the ground and expect the fans to flock to them.
In reality, the few thousand expat northerners the club currently get at the Stoop over the season will not be interested in travelling to Kent, about 50% of the ST Base will cease to go and the club will be 100% reliant on freebies and offers to the local residents of a town, which relies heavily on a business park on the outskirts and retail to generate revenue and Jobs.
BTW, an off peak return is about £17........£20 if you want the hast train option add that to your £20 ticket and a few beers and the 1hr 10 minutes each way from London and your matchday experience will be about £50 and last 6 hours.....there's VFM for you...especially if you want to bring Kids with you.
Bottom line is it's Mr Hughes Club and he has employed the CEO who is driving us down this route......as much as I'll moan, have a pop or the occasional dig, nothing is going to stop the club being run as badly as it currently is......enjoy 2013 at the Stoop guys and Girls.....I suspect The Skolars might just pick up a few hundred fans in 2014.

| For me with a railcard it's £20.25 off peak day return to gillingham, or £9.25 for an all zone travel card which I can continue using if I want to go out in London that evening.
If I work that out right it's about double the travelling costs. In fact I have been oop north for cheaper than the fare to gillingham.
Regardless of any other facts about the club which I didn't mention, going to
Gillingham costs more money than going to a ground in central london therefore my preference would have been a London ground.

| The delicious Irony is the person who opted to rename us the LONDON Broncos was inside 8 months trying to move us out of London.
November 1st 2011.
Quote "This relaunch provides us with a unique opportunity to target a new audience and raise awareness. We're committed to making Super League a success story in London." '"
Mid August 2012 he was trying to move us out of London......

| Well i'm a Wire fan and have been an enthusiastic supporter of rugby in London but won't be going to this game, not because i'm sulking or stamping my feet but just because i disagree with this in principle.
On the road in London i get, London is a huge place though (600+ square miles) and yet they can't find about 7000 sq metres of land in that area?
The Stoop to Gillingham is around 50 miles, so if you asked a Warrington fan or Warrington's marketing department to play a HOME game 50 miles away to improve attendance in the future at the HJ they'd think you mad.
Warrington playing a home game in Batley to the East, Lancaster in the North, Stafford in the South or Rhyl to the West, it's daft, it wouldn't work and it's a waste of time and effort.
