| Personally, I'd rather LMS didn't come to us. I wasn't happy that we signed Shenton. It would be ideal for local guys to stick with their clubs, especially in London where the road has been long in bringing through local talent. However, it would seem that the players themselves see things differently. I personally have no idea whether we have signed LMS. I now know we have signed Shenton. But it would be good if Quins could find a really good coach who will bring the local guys on to the next level, as well as recruit a couple of big Samoans for the front line, so that next season Quins will be seriously competitive and see some of the fans returning. Then the cycle will be upward and perhaps the likes of LMS won't be tempted away from the club. Assuming he has been, obviously.

er......I like the fact you are pro-london RL......but please explain returning
The average gate at London RL games since 2000 is 3,607. The average gate this year will be about 3,400......the highest average (apart from the first two SL seasons) for London is 4,238 in 2006, the first year back at the Stoop and the first as Quins RL.
There are no fans to return........there never have been any and that's where the club fail miserably.
6,000 to 7,000 is the break even target......the minute IL was told he couldn't own 2 clubs, this and this alone should have been the No 1 target at the club...

| Oh do STFU Gutters. This thread is about LMS but you couldn't resist your tiresome tirade about attendances.
Back on topic, seems Louie has signed for Saints (Brian Mc hinted at this the other day).
A bit surprised really, as he hasn't really had a good year and doubt he will be winning the POTY award.
Obviously Saints can see his potential and I will be really proud if he can make it there.
Not only will we miss him, we'll be losing our best song too!

| GF......we all know that more needs to be done on marketing and we are desperate for more support so I don`t disagree with your train of thought, but is it really necessary to pick up and correct every visiting poster`s general comment and turn it into yet more stats and another side swipe at the clubs failure......for heavens sake the OP`s comments were positive above Quins and we get little enough of that.

| As I said previously Saints are not the best pack at present, Jon Wilkin looked good on a strong pack, Louis will take some stick if he does not come up with the goods for them, more so as fans simply do not rate him they think any of their young players are better and that is a real Joke!

No point posting this. I've realised GF is actually a piece of malware running via a huge botnet. Apparently the author is no longer maintaining the code so we are stuck with the same stuff over and over again.

What drug are you taking?
First of all, a lot of Saints fans think very highly of LMS. I have yet to come across one that does not, actually, either online or on the terraces.
Secondly, our pack is not our problem, when we have all the players fit of course (we've been missing Maurie for three months now). But even without Maurie, we still have a good pack. Our backline is the problem although our young players have brightened it up lately.
Speaking of young players ... the guys who have been playing for us this season to cover injuries were all part of the Academy Grand Final winning side of 2008, plus Scott Moore, Kyle Eastmond and Gary Wheeler, who are a bit older. I think having won the Grand Final in your competition, this would suggest you have talent. We don't have the same talent coming through this year. Just one player has been promoted: a young halfback called Lee Gaskell who had his debut against Catalans a few weeks ago. When Jamie Foster, Jonny Lomax, etc, came through, seven were promoted in one go, all bar one of whom have had regular first game time. It's quite possible that we won't see that number of talented young players coming through again for some time. We have just gotten lucky. But we are all very proud of our young players, as Quins are of theirs. That's perfectly normal, and as it should be. IMO, obviously.

No Grudge! just Truth hurts sometimes, as the old Rugby Leaguer weekly heading used to say "All for The Good of The Game" and that is the motto I follow not just Quins RL but want to see the game itself succeed, unlike those who only have interest in their own club.

| As a Saints fan i think LMS is a belting singing for the club. He is a young lad with all the raw talent needed to be nurtured. Playing alongside James Graham and Josh Perry would improve any player. Looking forward to seeing him in a redvee (if true, of course).

I have always said that the game first, club second in fact I started a thread a few months ago on the VT about this very same subject so to say that the so called truth hurts I could not agree more.

| There are a lot of Quins fans who formerly supported other clubs from their home towns. I know I am one of them. It is hard to imagine swapping support from your childhood team but as Marx said " Conditions govern conciousness" and Stephen Stills " Love the one your with". You eventually take the attitude, and it takes time, London needs you more than your home town team. Yes, my relatives call me a traitor, so what. If you don't you stop watching and miss your real love - RL.

What is the problem? why don't you understand that not everyone in life backs a winning team and then when they lose a few matches lose interest, like many spoilt Saints fans!
It would be so much easier to support Liverpool rather than West Ham, who I have supported since I was aged 6! - before becoming a Gt Britain Youth Selector I was involved with amateur club rugby in St Helens and Andy Platt was one of the players we brought through. One of our players joined the Saints Academy and he was such an amazing scrum half with a real rugby brain, the first season he was captain and voted player of the season, he invited me to the award ceremony as he was so over the moon and just before the night started they told him they were not keeping him and he went to football! then a few weeks later the so called Director's at Knowsley Road who I had worked close with decided to start an Under 16 team running against us called the Crusaders, now which team would you if you were young play for, so in ended up instead of FIVE under 16's teams in the town there became ONE!
Working in commercial radio even by now I was supporting Fulham as I believed in expansion of the game (I have been to every first game played at home for an expansion team from Southend to Cardiff) I still worked hard to get the radio station to cover rugby league and to sponsor some Saints games. One of the games we were in the box and I always asked if one of the guests we had invited wanted to help select the man of the match, they all said no as it was their first rugby league match, so I picked the man of the match, only for a steward to come back to me and say the Chairman says you have to pick such a name as it is his debut game, I said no, only for a director to come and have a shouting match with me in front of our 9 guests! that was it!
The only games I have been to since at Knowsley Road have been London games! and that will never change, of course some London people support Manchester United!!! LOL

Well, that sounds bitter. The hardcore of Saints fans is made from many different backgrounds. A large number of die hards have been fans since Wigan were ruling with their bought talent and Saints were forever losing and getting nowhere near finals. So you make a big sweeping statement. Some of us are newer but haven't deserted just because we are no longer winning stuff. You have chosen to support the Quins even though you are from St Helens. That's your prerogative. Don't then diss others who have decided not to follow in your footsteps, no matter that some of us are supportive of RL in London anyway.

Half of our board have probably never played the game so view it differently. IMO he is quick, aggressive and can do the minutes. Everything we are/should be looking for and working alongside what we have he should develop (which i believe are his reasons for moving).
