| Just noticed a Twitter feed that links a Quins Facebook page. Apparently, if 1500 people become fans they will get a free ticket for the Sky live game.
Harelquins quite rightly are marketing the game and trying to gain extra support like all Super League clubs do, but with the club so desperate to attract support do you sometimes feel it would be easier to locate free tickets than fork out a fortune for a season ticket? And do you think that using Facebook, a social networking site is a little too ''unprofessional''?
It's a fine line and a case of you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

I'm not really sure why offering free tickets via Facebook, a legitimate, powerful and probably the fastest growing marketing tool around, is deemed any less professional than dishing out tickets via a local rag. Social media is big big business, print media is dying a slow death.
This is the first game that free tickets have been offered for like this, so I'm not sure how you ascertain its easier to rely on free tickets. Our season tickets don't cost a fortune either. Quite the opposite in fact.

| This is the least of my worries to be honest.
I have no issue with free tickets. I'd rather have the stadium 70% full on freebies than 3/4 empty.
If you come to the ground and one stand is open and it's not even full people are going to think — oh, this isn't very popular. Can't be that good. It gives a bad impression.

Couldn't agree more. Never mind Sky viewers seeing empty seats opposite the cameras, I find it soul destroying to turn up and watch the game played out to a backdrop of three empty stands.

Hypothetically though if all the tickets were free for a season. How many do you think would turn up?

If they were free all the time, there would be no significant rise.

So what's the solution for improved gates?
Vicious circle we all know
They need a capable SL winning side
but
need more money to do so
but
need people through the gate to get the money
but
they need a capable SL winning side.
Unfortunately there are no easy answers, which is a downer

| Only just realised everyone gets a free ticket out of this, for some bizzare reason I thought it was season ticket holders only. So now we've got loads of Huddersfield supporters joining who are going to enter for free. And the club moan about being skint?

| Free tickets more beer and burgers sold should bring in more cash than normal. However who is likely to turn up and watch the current bunch of er ................ At least Fartowners should provide entertainment and who knows big Mac may instantaneously combust.

Gutterfax's 20 point plan suggested giving away loads and loads of freebies.
Is the difference just the numbers or summink or the worry that loads of freebies maybe going to the opposition?

Slightly different to "And the club moan about being skint?" wouldn't you say. Club's number 1 apologist - mmmm I just put a different view point. Of course it is being bottom of the League, of course we are performing badly, of course we could sack mac etc etc. If pointing out some REASONS rather than EXCUSES is being an apologist then fair enough.

If you are skint, you spend no money. I'm struggling to see what the difference is. You seem to defend every single thing the club does and get upset when someone criticizes what they do.

I suggested freebies in return for DATA........NOT giving tickets away to all and sundry. That was then...this is now and I suggest again that the club give away 6 to 8 thousand tickets a game for the rest of the season...in RETURN for data and then canvas these people to come back.
I would also make every seat at every game £10 for 2011 (if the club still exist).

Getting them on facebook is collecting data. Not their addresses and phone numbers but atleast you have the page of the person who joined and can guarantee that sending them a message will get to them on facebook. You were prepared to give away 4 times that amount. How would you collect that "data" you referred to?
Also, read this link if you ain't.

Moreover, they’re 79% more likely to recommend their Twitterfollows to a friend, and 60% more likely to do the same on Facebook:"
That was then and this is now!!!! But you're the one that keeps resurrecting your list!!! Another case of you having a go at the club doing something. Not your idea again then?
Shame you couldn't last a week. It ain't that hard.

Unallocated seating apart from the 2 centre sections where ST holders sit. ST's at £175 with none of the Gold stuff....just a seat bolted on for all home games. Once the club get over the 4k Home fans mark...open the west stand and shove the aways in the North. Freeze ticket prices at £10 for 5 years and offer 5 year ST's for £700.
Away fans should be encouraged to pre-book the north at £7.50 buying tickets from their own club and not on the ridiculous on-line system with stupid credit card charges.
Free tickets in exchange for data (utility bill etc...) and for gods sake, use the DATA....and only to residents of the borough or kids with parents from the surrounding area.
To keep Bazza happy......£7.50 tickets to be sold in TNT and walkabouts with £2.50 going to the vendor and £5 to the club.
Something really has to be done. The biggest single gate game at the stoop is 8,213 for our first game and without some SERIOUS activity, the 30yr double header will turn out to be less than that.........and anything less than 10k for a 30yr celebration will be a failure. IMO that is.
Booster......if you think the club are doing a great job, then that's fine. As for the research.....the BRANDS inferred are large corporates...not little old quins RL. YOU brought up the list and whilst you have,......right or wrong, it represents a form of business plan....something lacking at Quins RL by all accounts. I will continue to have a pop until they do something that will actually lead to an increase in gates.......believe me, I would be more than happy to shut up and concentrate on the fiasco that is the squad and manager.......but do you honestly think that aiming for 2,000 last week and then dropping that target to 1,500 is good practice?
