| Rumour already circulating that 3 super league clubs are after Mason Caton-Brown and Salford chasing Dixon.
Also taking into consideration we lost Sarginson.
Mcmeeken, Krasniqi, Dollapi and Macani have also had positive reviews in the past season or two.
Wallace looks to have something about him too.
If we can hang onto our best youngsters in 2-3 years down the line we'll have some team.
Whether we go up or down our first priority has to be to retain the best players we have.

| Given the size of the likely salaries in Div Two, whatever they call it, versus Superleague I'd suggest it's likely to be difficult to hold onto anyone who receives a half decent offer. A combination of higher standard and probably more dosh makes it a bit of a no brainer for anyone willing to re-locate. Sad for RL down south, but true.

In fact I find it utterly farcical that the salary caps between the new SL1 & SL2 tiers should be different. Personally, if I were dreaming up salary cap rules I'd at least triple it to compete with the union & the NRL then, with the big bucks involved, it may drive the sport forward given that it will be managed in a far more professional manner thus minimising potential losses to investors with hopefully better promotion and far larger crowds that will follow.

| As I said on the match thread clubs will be looking at Caton Brown closely, and once Dixon shows his fitness he may go, it's going to be a tough time ahead holding on to any talent we develop, unless we keep on to players then we will not be fighting for promotion, if relegated which looks a certain. We still need that tough fit forward prop to make mileage and break tackles.

| 'Prolly not, we'll have to see what the TV monies for SL2 are and then the salary cap ofcourse, if my boy was there, and even Salford asked about him, I'd have to tell him to pack his bags and go North, I really would, so would any of us.

| I thought I heard salary cap was going to be circa £1m in championship and the same £1.8m in super league as now, all funded by sky in the stupid new tv contract.
Our young players aren't that good I'm afraid to say, they aren't all going to get snapped up by super league teams. Dixon should get a deal somewhere else but I don't think many clubs would take a chance with any of the other backs. That said Bishay and Macani could improve under better coaches. Krasnique and Dollapi may get signed by the likes of Wakey if they survive but I think we have a good chance of retaining a lot of the English youngsters in our squad next year.
The problem could arise with only being allowed one quota player in the championship, that would harm us if they don't change that rule in time for our arrival.

| No, the majority will be on their way even as squad players. We will start from scratch again and won't be paying the same amounts of cash. The northern knuckle draggers will be out in force claiming RL doesn't work outside their bus route. But they'll tell us how well the London player they picked up is doing. Are the dark ages on the horizon?

It appears Division Two, whatever they call it does not have a flat salary cap. The salary cap increases as the clubs income increases. To spend £1m, the maximum, you need to bring in about £2.5m. Quite how this system tallies with a groundshare that sees the landlord bank all match day revenue is likely to cause a few conversations between the club and RFL if Broncos are expecting to be here next season.

That starts in 2015. Championship salary cap for 2014 is 300k from memory. It`s certainly substantially smaller than the bigger teams will be permitted to run in 2015.
Edited to say one point not mentioned to date is the potential loss of players to southern RU as well as the M62. It`s not much of a secret a few of the current squad were looking in that direction when it was far from clear they had an employer for 2014.

| I wish it was all a bit clearer but, increasingly, it seems that all the talk of narrowing the gap between the bottom of SL and the top of the Championship is mostly hot air. I guess we'll lose a few.

Aston is spot on. Fans should stop deluding themselves with statements like ''when we go down we can regroup and rebuild from the bottom''??? We will stay on the bottom if our benefactor continues with us (which i doubt) until the fans realise P&R is in reality a fantasy and don't bother with these 'playoff' games farces and sky refuse to show the blow out matches in empty stadiums.

Agreed.
The RFL look like they are paying lip service to P+R.
The season after our parachute payment, I can't see us turning over more than the expansion clubs in C1.

| The players will go where they can get the best deal. DH consigned the team to relegation with his procrastination so effectively everyone is on a one year contract.

| Thanks for the link, Aston is very right.
We can't expect freebies forever from the rfl and the way the club has been managed they don't deserve a place in super league.
The game down here can survive without us in the super league and it's unlikely that after going down we will go straight back up as that mini league at the end of the season is biased towards the sl clubs.
Hopefully we keep producing more talent down here and they choose to stay with us as we should be quite successful in the championship, but as was mentioned before, these players are humans after all and will go somewhere with a better offer and you can't blame them for that.

| The answer is no to the question.
Wallace is a below par prop who is only playing because Rea wouldn't contract
Mooney or Cox, who were the next crop of props .,apparently due to budget restrictions.Who were considered the best of the academy league props.Wallace is still on an academy contract so is of no cost to the first team.(feel sorry for him)
Shaun Keen was the future hooker coached for the role, he's gone to union..(you work it out).
Joe Keyes should take an offer if a full time contract, may stay if a northern club doesn't come on for him.
As for Erjon,Olsie etc they'll do well to go.
Mike M is the pick of the bunch I dare say Saints will snatch him.
Mason will go as will Dixon.
So...

No just a keen supporter who has watched the academy for the past 5 years. I forgot to mention Macani who will no doubt be snapped up. Just don't forget the club ditched off the next crop. Druce, mooney, cox, keen, little etc. Is that better?
The above mentioned was just an example.
I could go on but what is to be gained?
Or would you rather a rose colour tint to it all?

| So if or when we go down of course the talent will try and go elsewhere, but bradford will have the same problem. You are tgen in the situation with only 12 top flight clubs trawling the quality up, so in effect their are less job, so not all will go.
its what happens with oromotion and relegation, the team that gets promotednext year if anyone does, thenthey most likely inherit the quality players from the team that go down! Its not just a problem we face
