| According to tweets from Ian Ramsdale, Code13 Rugby League, and Sky Sports News.
Not a surprise after watching post-match interview on Friday.
Whoops! Stooper got in first while I was composing my item.

Hopefully!
There can be no denying that he has the players full backing and from a few I have heard his man handling skills have been superb, with great man to man points for individuals, if it is concerned wish Tony the Best!

| Really wasn't expecting that. I was fairly sure it would be Jim Dymock, especially after he pulled out of the race for the NSW job.

| Well the bottom of the screen ticker tape is claiming that "Sky Sources" (ie Stevo?) state that he'll be the new permanent head coach.
I for one will welcome the appointment when it becomes "officially official".
Now just need to deal with this absurd, lunatic and outrageous idea of moving to the Medway, Mr Hughes!!
Keep the faith

| Interesting appointment a wizard given the short time he has had with this team. More importantly where are we playing next year!

| Hey welcome back Tony......clearly DH made him an offer he could not refuse. Lets hope DH has left enough funding for him to provide/maintain a competitive team.
Rumour has it he has spotted a nice little 2 up, 2 down 1800`s terraced house a few yards from Priestfield stadium....and that was the clincher

Wouldn't have taken much of an offer to be able to afford one of those.

| Well that's nice. Tony's obviously had a very positive impact on the team since he arrived. Well - he's getting them to play the standard that they clearly always should have been capable of.
Now if we could just match this with some positive off-field news...

If the club moves to the Gillingham area he and the players would probably live in Hempsted and Wigmore.

| Ian Ramsdale has just twittered Guildford (along with others) being considered!
I'm beginning to think this is a very late April fool joke
Might suit Paddock and Wire though.

| Kinda guessed that he was telling the truth about still being on a plane back to Oz on Oct 8th when Wiggy Questioned him on Friday, meant he could have a good internal s.
Interesting choice, he would appear to be better equipped since his move away, and given he went from playing to CEO/Coach?CEO/Coach all within the club, the time away with different perspectives could prove to be very useful to us and him.
Also he knows the club and it's history and will ensure new players get more immersed in the club and it's unique requirements, how he stacks up now on youth development and integration will be interesting as it never appeared to be high on his agenda back then, but a lot has changed around the club since then as well.
He would know the plans for any moves and also DH's long term plans for the club, no point in screwing up his career to come back if things did not add up for him.
Now then, which state in Oz will we not be recruiting from
Teflon Tony's barmy army.
ps well done all there on Friday for the TR Barmy Army chant, Tony Smith was well peed off with it when interviewed.

| Yeah, that was funny when Smiffy said about the Barmy Army chant.
You have to wonder whether Teffers is a sado-masochist? He escaped once (thanks to IL) and now he's back of his own volition...the man is glutton for punishment!
Welcome back Tony...it's good to have you back.

| Good observations from Homer (particularly regarding the yoof) - I wasn't sure whether a permanent move would be good for him and/or the club but the positive impact he has brought cant be ignored.
I am just worried that this good news will be offset by some terrible news regarding the next ground. They could have signed Wayne Bennett and the Australian squad for 2013 and I wouldn't go to Gillingham!

| Yes, I wondered about the good news/bad news scenario.
Maybe the powers that be think we fans deserve a long holiday from the Broncos? We have done our fair share of suffering for these last 7 years!
Mind you, could just be Paddocks shorts they want rid of.

Would be interesting to see the calibre of applicants we supposedly had from all over the world.

| No reason to think they wouldn't have been top notch.
Still, we have proved in the past that a top, trophy winning coach isn't neccessarily going to succeed in this club.

| I am not really sure what to make of this decision. Granted there has been a massive turn around in the teams performance since Tony arrived and he deserves a lot of credit for that but I cant overlook the fact that at least some of the change will be down to the simple fact that Powell has gone.
I didn't think Tony was a good enough coach the first time around to take the team where it needed to be and since then he has not done much in the way of coaching. I do wonder if the credentials of all the applicants were really that great after all
Anyway I hope I am wrong and I certainly wish Tony all the best and every success and will be more than happy to end up with egg on my face
