To be honest that was a pretty lousy decision, at a key point of the game. Also when he gave St Helens the scrum when we were battering their line.

| Any team worth their salt will plan well in advance for the allowance of at least four unpunished forward passes by a Saints team. So, it's Harlequins fault really

| The ref seemed star struck that he was refereeing saints. Tries from forward passes given that quins would never have been given had they scored them. Dodgy decisions all going in skints favour too. Well done quins you played 14 tonight and gave them a game!

| Other than our first try, which should never have been allowed, not only for the forward pass but also for the incorrect PTB by Wheeler, I can't see where the ref favoured us? Isn't that a bit of sour grapes? He said Roby stole a ball when in fact he was nowhere near the ball. I think you might have scored after that decision. And even if you didn't, you could have.
I thought Childs had an ok game. He just got it dismally wrong with that first try of ours. We would have still won by a penalty - and we might not have been so lazy in defence as to allow you that last try if there were only two points in it.
But I do want to say that I'm glad Quins are back on the up. I hope that continues for you and that none of the injuries today were serious.

It's best to ignore SaintsFan, he regularly talks rubbish and humiliates himself all over the RLFANS network, especially on the Leeds forum where his pants are frequently pulled down by more esteemed posters

| If you watch the match, when , wilkin broke, wheeler had been pulled back by Penny. So instead of a forward pass, it should have been a penalty to saints. The fact that Child told Lou Scarsbrook four times to play the ball resulted in a penalty, but, the letter of the law is persistant foul play (4) should be a sin bin offence. Child should have given head and feed to Quins for the knock on by Cunningham, but, it should have been highlighted by the touch judge, video ref can say anything. We can all name refs who get decisions wrong, but, so can armchair fans!

| Got to agree; Mr Child has been busy carving himself a nice reputation as a ref who wouldn't be swayed by the prima donna's, but he had an absolute shocker today.
Well done Quins - gave the Stains a proper scare; hope it continues.

Yup.
List for me all those forward passes we got away with then. I can only think of one clear forward pass - ie one that couldn't be contested - that we got away with and we shouldn't have gotten away with it.

| Eatsmonds try was a forward pass off Cunningham, he even faced forward and made no attempt, the Cunningham knock on was farcical. Vr, 2 touch judges and a ref and they all missed it. Joke to be honest.

| You have my sympathy, we had Child last week and he isn't good enough at the moment. He was very inconsistent on Monday for us against Crusaders.
To penalise your player for incorrect PTB and then allow Saints first try was ridiculous. That's ignoring the glaring forward pass in the build up! We've had him twice this year, I hope we don't get him again!!

Fwiw saintsfan normally talks sense, got it wrong there though with the first two tries not just the first. Btw saintsfan is a she and the only reason she gets her pants pulled down "metaphorically speaking of course" on the leeds board is because of there arrogance/ignorance and her refusal to lower herself to their standards hth

I don't honestly see how anyone could say for certain that the Cunningham-Eastmond pass was forward? They were so close together when the pass happened that I couldn't tell and I even slowed down the Sky coverage to look hard.
The first try was a mile forward, though, and Wheeler didn't play the ball right either. It should never have been allowed. Our 'forward' try against Wigan was nowhere near as forward as that one.
However, as a Saints fan, I aint complaining! I had a feeling that Quins would hit us hard, what with their previous performance and also having Purdham back. I'm happy to take the rub of the green/poor decision on this one. We've probably played our get out of jail card now.

| comment that the TJ's and the ref missed a knock on and fwd pass, dont forget the TJ's can only advise the ref if they have seen in infringement, the ref does not have to act on there comments as he may see it from a different angle and decide that he did not agree
The only decisions the TJ actually make is oin a conversion r penalty and if the ball is in touch, the rest they pass the message on, and usually these days they are miked up and its down to the ref to bl;ow his whistle or not

Tbh the score does not really mean a lot to me other than it would be nice to see the Quins get a break for once this season, on the other hand who other than Saints are gonna stop that arrogant lot from Leeds. I only posted because i thought you were being unjustly critisised by DL for expressing your view and were deserving better than what you received from somebody what should know better than let bitterness overcome him.

Thank you. It's appreciated.
I do hope Quins have turned a corner and that the season will improve from now on in.

| My own view is that Child was directly responsible for 12 of St. Helens' points last night. Allowing the first try was an absolute disgraceful decision - especially as not long before we'd been pinged for an incorrect play-the-ball. It was even bizarre when he went to the video ref to check a try which was eventually (correctly) disallowed when the Saints player (Meli?) put a foot in touch directly infront of the touch judge who raised his flag.
To say I've been more impressed with "Uncle Albert" refereeing this season is a clear indicator of how poor Child was.
