| Why are Quins making sure they get a low attendancefrom away supporters by charging £25 for the Saints match.
We DON'T want to watch a Union match if we did we would pay separately for it.
This smacks of desperation from a failing Club, face facts Quins you're on the way out.
We have cancelled our Hotel and if the price isn't dropped just to watch the League match we will NEVER attend Quins again.
Not attending is made easier by the fact we can watch it at home and save hotel, petrol and meals money.

I do the same with Knowsley Road and their disgusting high stand seat prices! and the ground is only miles away, no need for an hotel.

| The OP is right........RL tickets normally go up to £20 for a good seat, but this event is being organised through Union ticketing mechanism and a seat in the North Stand will cost you £25.00!!!
I can`t see anything that suggests you can buy an RL ticket only.......sorry mate this seems to have slipped by most of us.
Merthyr Saint....have you spoken to the ticket office direct??

Yes but you CAN get cheaper tickets if you go to Knowsley Road but I don't expect Quins fans to want to be near the great unwashed!!

Not personally but on the Saints official site the tickets are on sale with no choice but £25 and on the Redvee site a number of people are already planning to stay away.
Personally I think ALL Saints fans should refuse to attend if we can only buy "double header" tickets. Why are we being charged £25 when Hull K R were charged £15?

| If it is the case that even we (i.e Quins supporters) can't buy a ticket for just the Quins RL game then I for one will give the game a miss as well!!
As much as I will support the club through thick or thin even in the dire time we are having at the moment, I refuse to pay a "premium" for this. I have no interest whatsoever in watching the Union game and refuse to pay for something I'm not going to watch!!!!
This season I had planned my work schedule around Quins RL (I am self employed so it in effect costs me a days wages as well as the ticket price) and was rather proud of myself at being able to attend every home game this season!!!
Lack of cash at the time dictated that I wasn't in a position to buy a season ticket and have been quite happy buying my tickets in advance online or on a walk up basis.
Will the club ever learn ?????????

You raise a very good point. Marketing aside (yes, I said Marketing aside) the Club do seem to ride roughshod over the few fans they have at times.
Sorry, but if the Saints fans (who I always thought were a great bunch of fans) who travel down in numbers every year are sacrificed for a "double header" gate to drag our average up by its bootstraps, then the club have some real soul searching to do.
£25 to watch a team at the bottom of the table, after travelling hundreds of miles to get there and probably forking out money for a hotel and paying £1 more for a pint......or do they go to their local and watch it on SKY?
Oh...and if we were forced into this Double Header as has been suggested then I would suggest our landlords are in breach of contract......if we are paying for the pitch, then it's our pitch/stadium on that day and WE should dictate the ticket price.....In my ill informed opinion that is.

| I'm not as upset about this as some fans appear to be as I presume it was organised to be some kind of promotional event for Quins RL, and I don't mind supporting Quins RL. However, if even Quins fans are unaware of the lack of options Saints fans and possibly also Quins fans have with regard to ticketing then that's not such a good thing IMO.
I won't be watching the Union match as my coach won't arrive in time for it but I will still have to pay £25 (plus coach costs, obviously).

| What I'm led to believe is even worse if true that there is two hours between the matches and NO pass out so Quins can make money on food and drinks from a captive clientele.

I agree with your sentiment 100%, but I am not suprised if I am honest. The Stoop will be full, 14,500 will be declared (adding 1k per game to our average) and the coffers will do quite well.
As a business decision, it is a good short term solution, but is another example of the club maybe not getting it 100% right....in my opinion that is.
Remember, St Helens are the second biggest draw in London after the pies and haVe given us our biggest or second biggest gates EVERY YEAR since 2001.....that's not my opinion BTW....it's a fact

I raised it with the club today and we have confirmed it is £25.
I wouldnt watch RU if they played in my back garden and its a con that we have to pay for both games with no intentions of watching the first.
I will be there because non attendance would be biting the nose off to spite the face but I do feel ripped off. I have ordered tickets for £10 in advance previously.

| I,m glad we have just found out about this, a group of us have now cancelled our accommodation at Watford and won,t be attending the game. We will be going for a weekend in Dublin instead.
If this is the trend of the club at the stoop, then the away support will be non existent........what a rip off by Harlequins.

The problem is that it probably makes business sense to the club. I don't agree with it, but I can see why they have done it.
I really hope that those Saints fans that don't come down because of it consider coming down in future. It is a unique situation and one that is slightly out of the League Clubs hands (the union lot own the ground and had a fixture to reschedule) and you always seem to enjoy your trips down to London.

| I think someone at the club needs to read this thread and instigate some damage control - quickly !!!
The only thing Union of concern on the day will be the union of upset Saints and Quins fans that decide to stay away..........

| A tenner extra each for 7 people (whom I usually go down with) proves a bridge too far for me, especially for a game that is on Sky. None of us have any interest in watching union, so why should we pay for it?

Agreed....but then these are League Fans we are talking about and the fact that HKR fans can get in to the stoop a week earlier for £15 isn't going to help.
As for contacting the club........I seem to remember a few people contacting SKY/the RFL/Every SL Chairperson last year when the French game was moved......all good fun, but achieved SFA. Fan power is a myth and as Tre Cool says, £25 not the end of the world financially....but not good PR for a struggling club either.

Taking the p!!s isn't helping the situation - ready the bloody posts on here and elsewhere and you'll get an idea of the strength of feeling about this. To some of us £25 is a lot of money !!!!!!!

sorry, but cash strapped means feeling the pinch.....but not enough to still fork out for petrol, accommodation, food and a few beers.
If a family of 4 (with 2 kids on junior ST's) make the trip then it's an extra £30........I would suspect that a trip down with accommodation, petrol, food and beer would already cost in excess of £300...so 10% isn't life threatening.
I am not excusing what has happened, just pointng out the difference between cash strapped and poverty.
