| Cant fault the players for effort today. We wernt disgraced and i was expecting a hammering. Bryant and Melling were probably the pick though Goldon worked his socks off as usual. Losing is disappointing but as long as the players gave their all I can live with it.

| I walked away reasonably happy tonight, yep we lost!! but have to agree with you with all the doom and gloom mongereres on here i was expecting a hammering
Like i said on another thread, will be interesting to see the tv coverage of the game, i do think there were a couple of interesting decisions that could have gone to the video
but hey ho cant blame the ref, the difference tonight i think was the quality of the kicking!!
Personally i dont think the season is lost, we have improved!!! and played some decent rugby tonight, call it good coaching i think, keep up the hard word Brian!!!!
Look at cats last season!!!
and wigan the season before
we will start to get it together and we will start to win a few games!! I have faith
we as supporters need to keep the faith and keep doing our bit instead of all the whining!!!

| Who was the young coloured lad that came on? Looked a strong lad against the best defence in SL. He's got a bright future if last night was anything to go by.
Best of luck for the rest of the season.

| I went away feeling positive. After the early soft tries we conceeded, we fought back well and at least showed that we wanted it tonight.
POSITIVES: Lamont Bryan, Gutsy performance, Loud support, We gave a good team a game tonight and stewards finally getting off their backsides to deal with the foul mouthed & drunk Huddersfield supporters in the executive box behind me.
NEGATIVES: Size of crowd, Jamie O'Callaghan (looked out of his depth), and that we lost. Again.

| From a neutral POV I thought you put up a really good contest last night. I was expecting you to be mullered by Hudds as one of the in-form teams and you being so undermined by injuries to your key players. But quite the opposite and your guys were feisty for the full 80. I was willing a winning comeback for you and it was a shame that didn't happen.

They weren't Huddersfield supporters were they? They were Southerners just on a jolly I thought?
Jamie O'Callaghan really is poor, makes no impact whatsoever coming off the wing. Did Williamson get injured btw? And who was MOTM?

Quins did battle hard i agree but i dont think we ever really got into 4th gear, without sounding disrespectful towards quins,i think we played ok, certainly could have gone up another level i thought but the conditions were a leveller, certainly quins never threw the towel in

I must agree with this. Still, a very satifsying performance and I believe we stand a good chance next week at Bradford.

| Having a dig at Jamie O being "out of his depth". Funny that we've had hat-tricks against us two weeks running on the other wing!
I've sat and read the whinging on here increasing in intensity as the season has gone on. In fact I'm ashamed of the "ashamed" thread that has hit the Virtual terrace today. Yes I was decimated too by the loss to Salford. I also feared a 50 point defeat early in the second half but we have to give credit where its due to the grit shown to come back to respectability.
There's a long way to go, some great players to come back, let's see shall we?

as are most others, by all means he can flap his gums in here on his repetitive theme if it gets him woody, but after all of the years many many people have tried to defend what happens down here, for him to post that there was pretty close to the final straw for me.
As for last night, I agree with the Giants fan who thought they could have upped it somewhat, BUT, as my biggest complaint has been a lack of effort, last night proved that within this squad there are the basics and from somewhere, they found the heart, some pretty good moves were tried in the 2nd half as well.
All round good effort over the 80 and don't care that we lost as the right signs got shown. I am even going to shut my gob about Mc this week

| Can someone PLEASE have a word with Nick Evans and show our players how to kick a ball more than 30 meters? I appreciate that the positioning of a kick takes more time to grasp but Randall can't kick the ball anywhere, and I've seen players in school rugby union kick the ball further than Orr.

This part of our game is the main reason for our current demise IMO. All the top teams have at least one good kicker who will get us good yardage on the back of 4/5 tackles. The opposition are killing us with long kicks, high kicks or sideway kicks into the corner based on the back of their ability to keep pushing us back with their superior kicking game. If we could match their kicking game it would take the pressure of our defensive duties, and create more attacking opportunities.
Im not convince Gale is the complete answer but at least Orr can go back to SH and Randall can go back to Hooker where they are more effective. Randall is wasted ATM. We should be a better team then.
If only we could tempt Danny Brough down here.

It was nice to see some smiles back on the supporters faces after the game.

| Whilst I'm 'devastated' that you guys scored 18 points against us, I'm pleased for you and hope it gives them the confidence to push on. Your team never gave up and, at one stage, must have given our lot a bit of a fright. Well done.
Bentham was an absolute disgrace last night. He gave some horrendous decisions against you - and against us!
Good luck for the rest of the season ar one match!.

| field kicking under pressure is one skill, the one that really worries me is that we only ever seem to make 20-25 mtrs from a penalty, from the centre of the pitch a decent kicker should make 30-40 at least, its summat we have been weak at for the last few years
Excellent that lamont got our MOM

40 meters from a centre of the pitch penalty?! So you are suggesting if we recieve a penalty from the opponents kicking the ball out on the full from kick off, our kicker should be aiming to end up 10 yards away from the line? 20-25 meters for a penalty is perfectly adequate.

I agree with all of this good gutsy performance, finally running and tackling hard. Now we just need some organisation and direction in attack. And......wait for it......Williamson had a good first half!

I was particularly watching Williamson after his recent criticisms and I agree, he played well and was pretty vocal too. Did you notice if he played during the second half?
