| Don't know if people on here missed it, but Welsi will announce his retirement forthwith at the game on Saturday as announced on BBC Radio London last night. His neck injury has not healed. I wish him well, bad luck in his benefit year.

| I half expected this !!! saw him at the Storm game and he was saying to keep an eye on his blog for news.
I know he is organising some more testimonial events, if we can't get behind the team at the moment lets at least get behind Jon for his testimonial events, he has been a great servant for both the club and Super League in general!!

| Sad news for Jon for his career to end like this. I don't have much more to add other than to wish him the best of luck for the future.
Sadly it now means after 6 weeks from our 27 player squad we started with at the beginning of the season, three have left (Robinson, James, Wells) and only 17 players have played more than one game. Two of those 16 are Lamont Bryan and Jamie O'Callaghan. Up to and including last weekend, Lamont has played 13 games in his career, whereas Jamie has played 14. That's 1 seasons experience between them.
Regardless of the reasons for how we ended up in this position, it's no wonder we're struggling. Nearly 40% (37%) of the squad have played just one game, no games or have left the club. That has to be some kind of record!

| It's a shame that it has come about in this manner, but I suppose it happens to all players at some pont or other. I've always liked Jon, he's an intelligent, honest, articulate man and has had an excellent career in the world's toughest sport. I think it is a very safe bet that he will go on to have an excellent second career, in whatever path he decides to follow.
I also think that, if he so wishes, he has the potential to become an outstanding coach.

| Not really a surprise, but I'd like to see him continue at the club in some capacity, he's an intelligent man, and an excellent communicator, and he's been a loyal servant to the club who all decent fans respect, precisely the sort of person we need to be keeping on board in some sort of role.

Without wishing to be pedantic Temata has made 2 (Hull and Salford) although not for very long in both cases.
Also (and just to be slagged of about excuses again) out of the 6 games we have played 4 were against teams now in the top 8 and 2 in the bottom 6.

Completely agree and well put. He is an excellent counter to the normal stereotype of a player.

Have to agree here. Maybe he could be used like Brian Carney is up at Wolves as a player welfare office. Jon's been a round the game long enough to teach the youth about the benefits of using the club to get a good education incase a career in rugby dont work out. Plus how to talk and act with the media, which as got to be hard for young guys new to the to handle. (could see him doing a better job on some rugby shows then we see now )
Did wonder if Quins and our sponsor's WIN got round to doing anything new with the web site they could have front a tv slot like a few of the other clubs have on their website
Could also use him if hes willing on game days to act as club spokesperson with any sponsor.
But what ever he does i wish him and his family all the best. And a shame he didnt get at least one game in this year just to say goodbye on..

| Echo all the approval for Jon and thank him for all he's done for the club. Hope it can continue in new directions.
If he stays in London, he could for sure do a better job of Sky's Sunday 9.30 p.m. match round-ups than the present incumbent does.
Thanks anyway JW.

And the T shirt's very nice, too.
If I can do a shameless plug here, if anyone reading this hasn't already bought a ticket for Jon's testimonial raffle, myself and the missus (amongst others) are selling them on match days. The prize is pretty amazing - a shirt from each SL and NRL team, signed by their respective squads.
Tickets cost £4 each, or 3 for £10, which is pretty good considering the prize.
And if you have already bought a ticket, and we inadvertantly come up to you again, please bear with us. We can't remember everyone we've sold them to.
Many thanks.

As for the 30 jerseys...as I said earlier, raffle them at every home game for £5 a ticket....
