I have no idea what colour garss is, so I'll take your word for it
I want nothing more than an increased average gate at Quins, growing year on year. What the club have done for 10 years is laughable when it comes to attracting new fans and even on those occassions when they get it right Like leeds in 2005, they don't follow it up or repeat it.
6,500 at the Stoop because of a campaign run in Metro with free VB's and tickets for Ā£10 (could have been Ā£15).....then nothing. Lewis said we deserve better crowds.....and I think that the club actually believe this. Yes, we have a great product and yes it is a great family entertainment day out, but no fu^ker knows we exist.....and the viral campaign/oyster card thingy were shoddy amateur and in the end, about as much use as a chocolate teaspoon.
As I have pointed out on another thread, Huddersfield have doubled their crowds in 10 years.....we have added 6 to our average gate. After Salford and Hudds we are 1/3 of the way through our home games and it is very doubtful that we will be ahead of last years average gate. What then? A double header to artificially boost our average? What does that really achieve?
The current management structure have had nearly 12 months and apart from a couple of shirt sponsors, our finances are exactly where they were this time last year......
I repeat...the club need to stop concentrating on the 1 point for development and get moving on the potential 4 points that come from crowds.

Droga 5 eh? Budget for viral you think, how much do you reckon? Tell us.
I liked the Italian version of the ad also. That would have added nothing to the budget eh? Oh and one more thing it says on campaign live these were made for TV, it's been put out there in you tube land as viral but was shot for TV.
We get you don't like what the clubs does. You've told us hundreds of times. So why come back and back and back with the same old message. We got your 20 point plan. We got you 30 year bash plan.
And now you compare what you've called a viral campaign from a major shoe manufacturer with a very large budget as part of your own slƄgging off campaign.
Give it a rest FFS. See if you can do it for a fortnight. There's not much happening in that time.

How witty.
So you have no answer on budget. How much would their budget have been for what you've incorrectly called a viral, 2 x 2 mins commercials? Any idea?
It's really, really sad that you've gone to the trouble of finding something that you think is better. Seriously mate.
You're repeating yourself over and over. Almost day after day. It's getting boring not only for me, but others by the looks of things.

Budget? Have no idea, but I wasn't comparing Quins and Puma...I was simply showing that 800k views were achieved.....and believe me, if Puma didn't want the viral part of this to exist...it wouldn't. Most of the stuff on youtube isn't designed for the web....but if it's good enough, it will end up there. Whether you like it or not, the TV advert ended up being a free advert on NZ Breakfast TV for the commissioning company...therefore, it is viral.
By the way...I didn't go looking for it.....as I just said, it was on NZ TV earlier today.
Boring it may be, but so is watching RL in an 80% stadium with no atmosphere and the possibility of going broke if 1 Bloke gets bored.

Course not. You know what you were referring to.
There are 800,000 views as it's a massive campaign from a brand that has something like the fourth highest ad spend in the world.

Seeing as you have you so much time on your hands lets see your viral video for Quins RL. Maybe that would be a more positive contribution than your continued side swipes.

OK....here's one for you.
400+ guys and girls in a pub watching Rugby Union.....the signal keeps on flicking between a Rugby Union and a Rugby League game. In the Union clips you see penalties being kicked into touch or going through the posts or players falling over each other in a massive maul with bodies lying all over each other...in the league clips, you see tries and big hits. In the corner of each clip you see the union score....0-3.....3-3....3-6....whilst in the league clip shows 4-0.....8-0...8-4.........
After a while the people in the pub stop moaning when the League is on and start cheering.......the opposite for Union...and the strap line Remember when you watched rugby hoping to see some tries? Harlequins Rugby League...Give it a TRY!
Production cost? but not any more than the last one. Fans can be roped into playing the part of the fans and if the club get the RFL involved, they might agree to foot some of the initial promotional costs........
Maybe even run a comparison between the number of tries scored in a RL season compared to a Guinness Prem season...
There, thaty took 1 minute to come up with...it may be crap, it may not, but I do know that the RFU and IRB are worried about union being to defensive and kicking to prelevant.....so why not trade on that weakness?
I am no marketing expert......but at least stick my head above the parapet. All of those who say I bore them or talk rubbish should remember this...I don't want praise, cash or any reward for anything related to Quins...not even a job. ALL I WANT IS A SUCCESSFUL CLUB..and without wanting to repeat myself too many times ....nobody knows we exist!

I thought you were an intelligent person jbuzza....telling me to make a viral to prove a point is the response of a 5yr old
I have never said I have the answer to the quins attendance problem, just put forward potential solutions to bits of the problem, but it would seem that some on here will defend the club until they have nothing left to defend......a sub 3,000 average in the first 2 games isn't the end...but unless it changes, it will be the begining of the end.
Read my signature.......then tell me that the club spent the Ā£1,500 wisely on Oyster Card holders

| Perhaps if more fans expressed opinions like GFs then the club would listen and stop acting like a bunch of amateurs. They cant even produce a replica shirt for fans to wear to games. The RFL are just as bad for talking the value of the club up publicly. Fine, think it in private but if i was in charge of the RFL id be trying to shock them into action and stop rewarding mediocrity.

I think you miss my point. I don't have any problems with potential solutions. Some of your ideas are good. However, I'm perfectly aware of what the problem is without you repeating it on every other post. Any idiot can see it. So why the constant sniping over things that haven't worked ? Why compare the clubs "viral" to the Puma one ? Its just a cheap shot.
If you think you can do better then, seriously, you should do it. Make a video, put it out and see what happens. If it works then maybe you would be able rub the club's nose in it like you seem so desparate to do.

Arcadia is the residents' magazine from the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, produced up to six times a year and distributed to 80,000 homes and selected organisations in Barnes, East Sheen, Ham, The Hamptons, Heathfield, Kew, Mortlake, Petersham, Richmond, St Margarets, Teddington, Twickenham and Whitton. The rate-card for a 1 page advert is Ā£1,400, but anyone in marketing/advertising will tell you that rate-card is rarely achieved. Granted Tre. Over the years everyone has had a right to complain about stuff the club has done. From the team's performance to coaching, to kit, to the sun being in people's eyes. But with him it's constant. We got it the first 200 times he mentioned it. If he doesn't like or agree with something he wants to keep letting us know. As a result his message is becoming draining and will have the opposite response to the one he seeks. Just look at the people who recently have come out and told him to shut it.
Yet he still slƄgs off the club's novel attempt at viral marketing and then has another pop at the club by comparing it to a 2 min commercial from a company that has the 4th highest sports marketing spend on the planet and would have cost to tens and tens of thousands to create and produce. Not exactly fair is it?
He makes backhanded swipes and comments against the club. This very thread is one of those swipes. With regard to the constant swipes I actually don't see him being a great deal different to Rupe 1. Afterall, Rupe also goes on about what he believes is mediocre. Imagine what'd it'd be like if Rupe was on here everyday telling us his opinion over and over.

Rupe 1 eh.....Oh well, I suppose I am just like him and storminateacupbronco as well in that I don't agree with the direction the club are going (only I care about off the field), except for 1 key area...I still follow the club, support the team and would never dump them as a result of them not doing as I "demand".. I would follow them in the same division as the skolars....they are the team I support, regardless of the division they are in.
Yep, this thread was a swipe and not constructive....I make no bones about it. I will continue to take swipes at a Management team that, when it has a budget for marketing for the first time in god knows how long, continues to flush it down the drain!
And before someone points out it's because they don't do what I suggest.....I don't give a flying one what they do, just so long as it works.
