I think you'll find that the disciplinary are very consistent in their inconsistency.

was impressed with esders actually, and in that incident showed a lot of maturity, he actually put his hands up and aplogised for the knee! then when the "slap" was thrown he put his hands up again and stood his ground rather than swinging back. Dont get me wrong aggression is good but as i was always told if someone want to throw a punch, take it and just smile back at the bloke who threw it does 2 things, gets you the penalty and if the bloke who threw the punch does not get sent off then he is gonna be confused to at someone who just smiles when you punch em!! they tend to stear clear of you from then on.

Define marketing? I have 15 year experience of "sales"...from small to large ticket prices and over these years have learnt a fair bit about marketing. I also, prior to being in sales spent 10 years turning run down pubs into profit making businesses.......this involved giving the customer what they wanted and MARKETING it correctly.....but you are correct, I am not in marketing. What I am in is semi-retirement...and at 44yrs of age, that points to me being pretty good at what I have done during my career.

If you have anything to say about any of the ideas I have come up with/stolen from other businesses over the years, please do.....but if, as usual you are just letting off steam at an easy target can I suggest you stick to subjects that you have a superior grasp of.

Everything that comes out of your gob is a dig at the club. Do you realise that? I reckon one day you should look back through your posts and see if you've said anything positive (bar an example of you believing the Quins instigated something that you and ONLY YOU may possibly have suggested once before). You say you offer alternatives. But you don't always. The first thing you often do is have a pop. But you don't see that. Like the recent viral episode. Did you applaud what wass innovative for us. NO.

GF - FYI the club this year finally have at least got a marketing budget I beleive. Now whether or not you llike Oyster card holders or posters at stations at least something is being done.

OK...here goes.
1. I have more than a passing interest in marketing techniques.....but I am predominently a Sales Person.
2. I was asked by the RFL (2005 IIRC) if I would be interested in working for Quins RL.....but was unable to look any further into this due to the fact I had a/other commitments and b/ they weren't paying enough. Not bigging myself up...just stating a fact.
3. At a later date I applied for the advertised Marketing Job at Quins RL and didn't get past the pre-selection stage of the head-hunter the club employed. The club didn't employ anyone to the Marketing Role at that time.
4. This was neither the first nor the last time that I have been turned down for jobs.....and as such, I took it in my stride. In my job, no is almost as welcome as yes in the answer stakes!
5. The Club are and were at the time aware of who I am.....I do not hide behind my board-name.
6. I have been asked by various people at the club and the rfl on more than 1 occassion to "take it easy" on these boards and have done so.....
7. Apparently, some people at the club take my critisisms on these boards personally........something I do not intend at any time.
8. I have always offered any assistance I can give to the club with no expectation of reward or praise.
9. I have always had the best interest of the Club and London RL at heart.....I am not on an ego massaging mission......as I have said, if I don't get paid for it, it doesn't affect me.7
10...I hope the club prove me wrong and manage to up the average gate in 2010...I really do, but I will continue to point out where they make mistakes IN MY OPINION..

No one has a problem with an opinion, in fact without opinions we wouldn’t have a site. The problem is you don’t appear to compliment the marketing team’s efforts, ever, more you are negative, in my opinion because you are not seeing what you believe is right. I.e. posters in the train station and flower on the roundabout. I’m surprised you are so disparaging of the marketing dept at the club when you don’t have the full facts. Success isn’t going to happen over night as I’m sure you are aware with your history in sales.

Its good that we have sponsors on the kit etc, boxes are being sold, Virgin are getting involved-all income. The indicator of success for most club though appears to be the crowds, which currently we are not increasing.

Anyway- Carvell got of his one game ban-What is the purpose of the disciplinary?
