Every week we lose and we tell ourselves they will turn it round and play some decent stuff next time and get us back on track and low and behold its even worse than before. How can we perform and compete for one half of the season and then collapse into a group of headless chickens who can hold onto the ball, cant catch it, pass it except over peoples heads, dont know what to do with it, dont support the player with the ball, have forgotten how to tackle or even mark their opponents. BM is certainly not telling them to do it. They are pros ffs. I cannot believe how we can play so badly.
When you have players who do this week in week out something is definitely wrong. Are the players shattered from the hard training? Is it really so different from any other clubs?
I would certainly disagree with his recruitment policy. IMO all the succesful teams in SL follow the same pattern. Get quality players in the key positions, No.s 1, 6,7, and 9 and build your team around them. Ideally you produce as many as you can from within, but if you cant you sign them from out side. BM has failed to do that. Only Randall comes close. The opportunity was there when Hill and Marty went. We should have signed a quality half back fro OZ seeing as one wouldnt/cant come down from UP North. Orr is not the player he was at Cas and and doesnt give us anything like a Danny Brough at Wakey, a Dobson at HKR, or a Monaghan at Wire. Sure we cant easily fill all those key positions as we would like, but just to have filled one of them satisfactorily is at the root cause of our problem IMO. There is no one in the key positions to inspire or lead the team out of this defeatist mindset these players all seem to have now.

never have i seen such a poor pack of forwards, although it is hard to tell who are forwards are. Poor old sharp and melling do more carting the ball up then our second row and loose forward combined. I can't get over what has happened to our pack since the great win over hkr. Any ideas?

Worrying

Obviously some trouble in t'camp, based on a WAG sat behind me having a real go at one of our Antipodean's efforts today.

I have raised this issue before. There is no way we can address strength in depth by releasing eight players and bringing in three. It just doesn't work.

Even more of a concern is the fact it fails to address the real issues in the team. Yes we need a stronger pack, but we need a bit more strike behind it.

If we were having a no holds bar clean out then I would feel a lot better about next season than I do right now.

In 2004 we were terrible, so for 2005 players like McLinden, Dorn, Leuluai, Williams, Haumono, Hopkins, Ty Smith were recruited. Whilst not all of them were well known, it did improve on field performances.

This whole “not much needs fixing” attitude is insulting. Hull are having a full scale clean out, yet we've only collected 2pts more than them.

If we have very little money then please tell us, rather than insisting we have a really strong squad and are spending near the cap.

Only once have I felt more depressed at the end of a season than I do now. We had played our last game at the Valley after Branson pulled out and we were unsure whether we had seen our last game.

Now we have a coach who "Doesn’t know what's gone wrong” his words, a team which lacks any flair, a recruitment policy which will see us languishing near or at the bottom of the league and fans, so disillusioned, that we will be lucky to average 2,000 next season.

Too many wet performances. Players trying but not good enough i would care but not this lot. Well i'm not bothering with a season ticket next year and neither are the 3 three people with me.

Today was embarrassing. Some Cas fans afterwards said "we played quite well, but [the margin of Quins' defeat was more down to you playing e" or words to that effect. It was worse than the hammering we took in the same fixture last year, when we had loads of players unavailable.

I don't believe Brian Mac has suddenly become a hopeless coach (as opposed to a relatively inexperienced young coach achieving moderately encouraging results with a small club) but either he's "lost" the dressing room or there's a massive rift between different factions of players in our squad. There seemed to be a real stench about today's performance.

I'll renew my season ticket, probably at a cheaper rate, but right now I'm not sorry I won't see Quins for another five months.

Something is seriously wrong. Once again we looked like a team resigned to defeat. If there is rift then McDermott should be the one to sort it out but its been there for weeks. Enough is enough. People won't pay money to see this.
