| Dan Sarginson is a great young local talent. He must be utilised by the London Broncos. The question is where?
The choice is FB, CE or SO.
Perhaps Tony Rea might first try out this backline [ucombination A[/u:
[iDorn,
Robertson, Howell, Sarginson, Dixon,
Witt
Gower[/i
If Witt does not work, then this [ucombination B[/u:
[iRobertson,
Colbon, Howell, Sarginson, Dixon
Dorn
Gower[/i
If Dorn is not effective enough at SO, then this [ucombination C[/u:
[iDorn
Robertson, Howell, O'Callaghan, Dixon,
Sarginson
Gower.[/i
What say you?

| A, simply because Colbon cannot be relied upon fitness wise and JoC is rubbish. This season is make or break for Sarginson, we all know he has the potential and to be fair he was playing under a complete muppet last year, but he was poor for most of last season (when fit) and I'm really hoping Tony Rea can help him defensive wise.

| Wow how refreshing to have a rugby discussion on this board!
I'd go for combination C, Dan could be another Sam Tomkins (born in Milton Keynes). Let's put the SOutherner in Stand Off .
Think this also puts the other players in their more natural positions.

Agreed, Channing would surely have to be ahead of JoC in the pecking order also

| Full back if Dorn is going to 6. The centre spot is a worry.

| I reckon sarginson will start the season in the centres, preferably on robertsons wing with Dixon and Howell the other side. Dorn has to be full back and I'd leave Witt and gower together at first.
As the season moves on I want to see sarginson in the halves more ( if everyone is fit I would omit Witt but it's more likely to be a forced decision due to injuries) and channing in as centre. JoC wouldn't get a look in the first team until we are desperate wasn't Lovell a wing/centre too. Be good to see how he gets on.
All in all if everyones fit and steps up defending a couple of notches we look pretty good at the back

Agree, don't rate him at all unfortunately. Can't fault him for effort though.

| Saying he is better than ocallaghan is hardly going mad over him!
To be fair I forgot about colborn totally as well, I don't know how I'd want him to play, would leave that til a few games on to decide.
Also would have dixon as second choice full
Back over Robertson, I prefer him on the wing.
A good season for sarginson would see him in contention for the England squad for that tournament that's happening next year. Though being honest it would take a lot for him to get in the team, and I could only see him playing at centre.
Where did he play for the knights?

| He's a ball player; a real natural. I'm sure lock is his position. Whether he's physically ready for that is a different matter.

| I would select Robertson as the Fullback as he is defensively sound with Colbon and Dixon the wingers as both offer pace, tries and a solid defense. I would partner Sarginson and the six feet five youngster Lovell alongside him. Halves of Dorn and Gower. There would be no place for Witt because of his bad performances in 2012, no place for Howell because of his bad performances in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and O'C for his dire performances between 2008-2012. There's no point flogging the dead horses of Howell and O'C you may as well give up on them and try Grady and McMeeken. I don't think Channing will make it but he can be tried out. O'C has had 80 chances and isn't good enough. What frustrates me is repeatedly playing people who never produce. Players like Witt are in poor form so you might persevere but poor players in poor form are no use to us.

I agree with the sentiment but disagree on some positioning. Dixon has FB written all over him, and played there exclusively in the juniors. There's no point including Colbon in any plans because he's always injured, so I'd go with Robertson and and Howell (because there's no-one else). Lovell looks like he's moved permanently into the second row so I'd be looking at McMeeken and Sarginson. Gower and Dorn in the halves. Channing, O'Callaghan, Colbon and Witt as back ups.

| Howell has to be one of our most frustrating players. There were fleeting glimpses once TR returned of what he is capable of. I think he is worth sticking with for the moment.

| Howell was very good towards the end of the season under TR, I don't see what Lovell has showed to be considered better than him.
