| Hi Guys
Anybody know if the broncos will be getting more replica tops in. Seems really weird that they are already sold out and its only the 1st week of the season.
Did they under antcipitate how many they would need in medium and large?

| I know several who were disappointed yesterday at not being able to buy replica shirts in their size. You would think that the club would be able to restock the larger sizes.
It is the first round of the season after all. Still, this is the Broncos.

| It was interesting that the Danny Wards wife was running the shop on Sunday. All hands to the pumps it seems.

The club ordered hundreds and gave everyone the chance to pre-order for collection before Christmas and to purchase online in the run up to the season. The shirts have been very popular meaning some sizes have sold out. Everyone has had plenty of chances to get one.
Abusing staff running the merchandise stall on Sunday and complaining that the club have sold many more shirts than in previous seasons seems a little harsh to me. More are due in very soon but to blame the club for not being able to restock is unfair. An order for top up shirts was placed in good time but it is not a 'click your fingers' process, especially with a good brand like errea who have lead times that reflect how many clubs they look after in a number of sports.
There are some clubs, like those amazing people at Toronto Wankpack, who will not have replicas on sale until March and they have over 100,000 fans wanting to buy shirts so just remember that when you are criticising the club who have worked hard to keep people happy year on year.

| Monkey lover, don’t get the shirts in time for xmas the club are in the wrong, get em before xmas the club are in the wrong. Buy too many and have to sell em off cheap, the club are in the wrong, sell out and re order they are in the wrong.
Increase the number of fans, the club are in the wrong. You miss the point, the glass is half empty it’s all wrong we are doomed

Exactly. If the club held a secret sale of shirts in the run up to the season I can get it but they gave everyone plenty of chance to buy one, at a time when the cash was needed most, so if you have not got one by now you have to accept you ran the risk of missing out until later this month. They over order and then the club are left with a huge bill and further digging into the pockets of DH.
I went to Tesco at Christmas, in fact it was Christmas Eve. I needed Carrots but unfortunately they only had a few scabby ones left and not the size I wanted.
Imagine that, amateur shop like Tesco trying to compete with the big boys 'Spar' who had loads of carrots!!

Thats an odd example! London fans can only get them from London we don't have Spar as an option, but I do get your point!!
The tops look good this year. Maybe that's why there's a bigger take up.

| It depends though, I would expect that if the club has sold out of replicas before the season actually starts they would order some more in, which would be available later. I can accept that if a Top has sold out by June, not to order more, but we are in Feb and at start of season.
All I was asking was if they were ordering more. I can wait a few weeks for the top, but seeing I have each home top since 2006/2007 season dont want to miss out on this one.

I was pointing to the comment 'Still this is the Broncos' as if they are the only club who would ever run out of shirts. The retail aspect of pretty much every club in Rugby League has issues such as this due to the fact clubs cannot afford, or afford to risk, spending what cash they have on stock they might not sell. Hull FC famously have a fire sale in Sept and October to make sure they have the cash to pay for the large one off drop of gear ISC send them which results in them running out with no chance of replenishment all year. Some clubs do not have shirts on sale until Feb and March however Broncos provided the fans with hundreds that were available pre-xmas and for those who could not get to the club they could pre-order online.
If the club over ordered and were selling them for £5 in June with more expense to DH to cover the loss people would be calling them incompetent and ask why Amanda was not still there running the merchandise. They honestly cannot win sometimes.
There are obviously still things at the club that need sorting but for the first time in the 3 years I've worked with them, plus years before when Barnet boy kept all of the profit, they are running a profitable retail arm that seems to be going down very well with 99% of fans.

| Monkey well done in what you are achieving. I remember the year at the Stoop when the players didn't have the correct tops for the first game
I think this year was the first ever or for many years that we had tops available for Xmas.

Ordering shirts on-line for xmas would have been most peoples choice (would be mine) but as we are using yet another friggin' supplier, it is nearly impossible to gauge what the actual sizes will be like........maybe returning to a supplier of Rugby Shirts rather than a "franchised' supplier of predominantly soccer kits would be a better move?
On this point......the last shirt I got was a JAKO hooped effort in 2014......is that Large similar to the new errea Large?
Quote ="wire-quin"Monkey well done in what you are achieving..'"
I'd say "trying to achieve" and well done for that, but it does seem that all of St Dave's eggs are going i the "playing roster" basket again and everything else is being run worse than a pub football side.

| Good to see the glass half empty attitude is leaping to the forefront again.
Shirts available on line in time for the season and available online, and it’s still wrong.
As you say monkey running out of stock is better business than having too much and losing money!
Judging how many you need has to be based on what you sold previously, the number of fans has increased this year, so the demand has been greater hence running out. But the increase in fan base could not be predicted so you can’t order more replica stock on an assumption.
Am sure if the demand is there a further order will be forthcoming, and maybe lesson to be learnt, buy early

If the club are planning for a future without St Dave of Swinton, then getting this stuff right is far more important than overspending on a squad. If we are to survive in the 2nd tier, then we need commercial aptitude.........and I repeat, I would happily buy a shirt on-line for xmas, but not on the off chance that it won't fit. We change suppliers far too regularly.......
...if it were down to me, I'd revert to the red badge, the Fullham Black with R/W Chevron and white as the alternative and commit to 3 years with Kooga or Canterbury......maybe not as much profit to start with but continuity.....

| Not down to you though is it?
And I would rather the money is spent on the squad. Do you think the increase in fans this year was down to being able to buy a london broncos branded pencil? Or the make of shirt?
Commercial sense, we have bought a stock of shirts and we have sold them at full price, that’s much better than buying too many and making a loss. Not even you can argue with that

Numbers are up this year than last that’s all that matters.
Without st David our attendance would be zero

| Why look backwards? You cannot change the past. You can only look foreword
The thread is about shirts, why did we not have XL, because they sold them all, why? Probably because of increase in support this year on last.
What’s difficult to understand?

No.....more likely the boss is peeved about buying stock that then went to refugees like the Jako stock.....as I said, the opening gate was lower than last years, so where you get this increased support from is questionable.
Quote ="northernbloke"What’s difficult to understand?'"
I understand most things...especially your need to be 100% positive even in the face of factual evidence the other way......but if you want to be condescending continue as you are.....it highlights your disconnect from reality.

| Last seasons opener was against who?
How many travelling fans did that opposition bring?
This seasons opener was against the team who are expected to struggle and furthest away in the uk, go figure
Season tickets this year are up on last year go figure!
Fact! we have more committed supporters this year
By the way I said our support I didn’t say game attendance.
