I remember Karl Pryce playing against us at Wigan a couple of years back. (The game when Howell got sent off for flattening one of the Tomkins brothers.) I thought he looked an absolute monster and played to his srengths superbly, but none of the locals seemed to rate him. Purely on the evidence of that one match I think he's a terrific signing, although presumably there are questions marks over his fitness and/or consistency.

Had more than his share of injuries but he's a pretty good player once he settles down, needs a centre who can cover his wing to allow him the room to move inside, has a few little tricks and on form he has the ability to win games, one of those players you'd rather have in your team than against you.

I hope Mrs Purdham gives him a good welcome and he gets to like it here, another in the mould of Paul Sykes if he settles.

Big man on the wing has worked throughout SL, and he looked very dangerous near the line for Wigan last year in a very good back-line.

If Pryce comes I hope he does well, but I'm not as myopic as some posters on this thread when it comes to his percieved faults. There's a long standing criticism of Pryce that he lacks heart, that he has the size and pace and even many of the skills to be a top class back, but somehow he's just never pulled it together with the bottle needed. I think of him as a bit like the back line version of David Mills, you just think he should be better than what he is given his natural attributes. Maybe he will come good, but if he's going to be compared to Paul Sykes time with us then he's got to stand up and be counted week in week out and that's been a big question mark at all his clubs.

web site says "month long" loan!!! with the option of extending

Will be here for the season unless injuries at Wigan force them to return is how i read it. With the strength in depth at Wigan I should expect a very long loan spell

If you can get the best out of Calderwood,Mellor and Pryce you'll have a terrific little team.Best of luck for the season.I used to watch you as Fulham,before returning to Leeds,but in a roundabout way,I did provide you with a Chairman!
