Had the great pleasure of Matt's company several times over the years - at Broncos games but also at his book launch at the RL Presidents Ball in Leeds some years ago. Truly an inspiration. His contribution after just a few tragic minutes as a rugby league player is greater than most of us over many years could dream of. His stoicism and determination were always there for all to see.
It would be nice if the club could do something to mark his passing, ideally a bit more than just the black armband and a minutes silence type of thing.
Matt King overcame the enormous difficulties his injury brought, faced them head on and won!
I know we never saw him play for the first team but could he be inducted into the LBSA Hall of Fame?
That is a great idea and certainly we had hoped that we could have done something along those lines as part of the sadly abandoned Immortals process last year.
What a most fitting tribute that Matt's name is going to be inside every player's shirt collar, what better tribute than each time they pull on the LONDON BRONCOS RL SHIRT, they will think and remember MATT!
