One of our number attended the TWP v Hunslet match. He said the stadium is a bit run down. There is no cover so if it were to rain it would be quite a miserable experience.
The crowd was quite good, he was impressed by the number of Hunslet fans who were there.
The area where the stadium is not the best. However as you can see from the TV, there is a lot of redevelopment being undertaken so it should improve.
He thought the Canadians seemed to be buying into the whole thing, however they a winning. If on promotion they started losing then he feels the support might decline.
The claimed crowd against hunslet was 6000 against all golds 7000 against Hemel 7200 considering it's apparently a capacity of 9000 all seated looking at the TV pictures not sure where they all were, the bar must have been busy. I think the person who counts the crowd must have been same person that worked for us in the past.
But throwing stones and glass houses etc, much better crowds than we manage
Canadians do seem to be taking to it though, but as you say it will be interesting to see what happens next year when they start having more challenging games and not strolling every game
