| hi im from nz living in oz melbourne, been spending time thinking about this club recently and possible things it could be doing if it's not already. its you guys club by that i mean the people who go to games, have the jersey etc, live in london, just offering ideas to anyone involved with the club who maybe interested in them. here goes apologise about the length of post in advance.
key potential markets for bronco's to improve crowd figures
=people originally from the north of england league areas must be couple hundred thousand in london.
=aussies 100,000 in london, kiwi's 50,000 in london,
=players and families of the growing amatuer league in london,
=general sport fan, skysport 50% of league viewership in the south of and londons a large chunk of population of the south of uk.
of the northern english, kiwi's and aussie's in london say 25% follow league to some extent, add in the poeople involved in the grassroots game in london, an sky viewers of the sport from london... thered have to be at least 200,000 people in london with some level of interest in the sport. The thing is getting 5% those groups of people to a game would increrase attendances....
id get the london residents originally from the north thru there hometown team
and them work on them getting london onboard as second side and eventually maybe a 1st but even if the just come to whatch wigan etc it's still money thru turnstyles and people to add to crowd atmosphere who actually live in london.
kiwi's an aussies probly gonna need a few attractions from home to get them there and to know its on well in advance, thru backpackers mags, kiwi; aussie bars, radio shows ets ets eg: jr kiwi's or kangaroo's taking on jr english as curtain raiser game or maori cultral group ngati ranana preforming or anzac tribute to antipodeans in london, again once you got em work on kepping them coming and getting more the next year.
i read getting local jrs to attend has been difficult but there must be some way of getting more kids involved in this sport to drag a parent of friend along...
sky league viewers from london need advertising on sky to get them there...
see sam tomkins live amazing... london vs wigan this saturday the stoop!
EVERYGAME MUST HAVE A MARKETING ANGLE, PUSH and MEANS ($, contra ad and word of mouth) TO PROMOTE IT.
every game a marketing angle should be come up with heres some i thought of for example.
London Vs catalan - large french population in londoncontact french radio show, newspapers, offer free ticket in exchange for advertising interview with julian rinaldi etc eg listeners/viewers could win a prize of a ticket. target french schools restaraunt with posters flyers for the game. to your own in email local, press, radio, remember what happend last year in france this is time gowers playing and ...etc etc
London Vs wigan must be a reasonable amount of ex wigan people resident in london work that angle to get them to come. hype up sam tomkins to general sports fan super league on sky whatchers see him play live contra ads.
you could work various days/events into games promotion and plan and promote it well in advance eg: anzac day, london juniours day etc. and just roll of whats happening eg if we win his were back in the semi's or avoid the wooden spoon or win the league leaders trophy, or see a particular players last game before they retire....
SUPPORT FROM VESTED INTERESTS IS CRUCIAL
How about rfl get some contra advertising on sky and some of that is used to promote london bronco's, london league events, skolars, hemel etc. londons a crucial market uk's largest city, capital city, financial centre, media... suppourt is needed and success in london will benefits the code as a whole.
whats the story with council mayor etc? challenge cup final and test matches regularly staged in london that brings cash into london well how about some support in exchange finding home for league in london from london local government....
CROSS MARKETING
use what youve got at wembley challenge cup final or london based test match have a couple broncos billboards for website, season tickets, next game, also metioned in program
leaving the on field performance out of it for now! lot of poor preformance off the field at bronco's the old saying get your front office right....
there is real potential there for our sport in london, bronco's have come across problems due to lack of funds, tough market to crack, out of neccesity, sometimes there own failings, have to say rfl have failed them to an extent, look at nrl an melbourne(not the cheating cap part) the contra advertising thru host broadcasters/ media partners, the suppourt for the code from local government in exchange for hosting large events, recognizing melbournes importance to the sport economical and as a segment of a countries sporting population.
now look at london to the uk's level of importance its huger than melbourne importance is to australia. this model needs to be adapted to the lodon situation with the rfl eg contra sky advertising some of which promotes london bronco's, cross promoting bronco's at major london league events, getting assitance for a home in london or part funding for bronco's and london league events in london from local government

| I think all of those markets - Northerners, ANZACS, amateurs - have been appealed to with only a little success.
The focus, surely, should be on the existing/lapsed/occasional fans that already sit on the database. After that, the Stoop locals.

| thanks that would be a dream job, but no cricketing pettigree to speak of!
ok so northerners in london, anzac's, local juniours have been tried obviously the approach wasnt well thought out enough or push not sustained enough... back to the drawing board.
what about the french angle for catalans game in london? marketing to existing fans, passive tv whatching fans in london? promoting things in your own team eg luke dorn's 100 game, or julien rinaldi's final game, battle to avoid wooden spoon, make play offs etc etc
the thing that makes me certain it's possible is on occasion the london super league side has got decent crowds and results... probly thinking of the richard branson/challenge cup final apperance type era tho.
also the fact that there are super league viewers on sky from the area and reasonable amount of people in london who follow the code to some degree.
if bronco's could improve in the front office and on the field. get better suppourt from rfl, sky, local government theyd be very successfull and it benefits the code itself next minute huddersfield, salford, etc picking up better sponsors as the product has a proven national profile and bussiness and the media want to buy into it... gonna take hard work tho.
good luck for next season bronco's good to see you thrash warrington in a bar here in melbourne i was the only one whatching it with no sound but im a league fan.... and congrats on avoiding the wooden spoon as well
