Rugby League is the greatest sport i have seen live when 2 competitive teams take to the field. when you get blow outs, i find it a tiresome chore unless your team giving out the drubbing which dont often happen for Bronocs. Thursday night became chore in my opinion after first 10 mins of 2nd half. in fairness you always felt Dragons had so much more in their locker even during the first half and felt we were merely hanging on to their shirt tails.
the home games up to Thursday that we had lost we have always been in and about till last 10 mins or so, so for the most part competitive. although i always felt we were never going to get the better of them, saints, giants so not massive shame although these teams didnt play well at stoop. away games we are being destroyed which is disastrous and an embarassment. every team must think we are a 2 point banker when we come to town, their fans probably stay away as they know it wont even be a match..
i myself am a season ticket holder. brought a friend along who was casual supporter. he enjoyed the match, loved the way catalan played and asked why Broncos dont apply the same pressure, why dont they pass as Dragons do, or even attempt to play more attractive rugby.. hmmmmmmm, lack of confidence in what they are doing / being told to do has to be main thing IMO. you can see there are individually good attacking players there, but they are not being gelled into a unit and dont believe they practice defense if we letting so many points in week in week out, wildcats the exemption. on attack we need more set plays to confuse opposition defences... and why do we rarely offload, when we do get chance no one is there to accept it, so that must be down to game plan they are being told to employ and that comes from coaching staff. sticking it up your jumper will not win games.
im not one to shout for peoples heads, but Mr Powell as manager comes across in interviews as very dour, never shows emotions when doing well or bad. not being funny, how can he motivate anyone. as manager he needs to smarten up in appearance (unshaven, scruffy is not acceptable as ambassador for club) and smarten up our play. cant play the same play so many times, variation, kicks, dummy runners etc.. and motivate players.
hopefully win over Dewsbury might get some confidence back and see where that leads us, although thats not a given. taking another friend advising guaranteed win, uh oh !!!!!
if we lose to Dewsbury, no disrespect to the Rams, then people should be looking for another vocation sooner rather than later.
all so disappointing after the furore of players we signed and the rebranding and things turning out worse than last year and i thought we would not get any lower...
i see mention of kit manufacturers, what kit manufacturer is going to want to make our kit, be no money in it as so few kits probably sold, hence MKK bespoke kit manufacturer probably the solution, even though they probably got in the door as CEO cricket buddies i hazard a guess. i think stuff produced is of a good standard although sizes seem a bit curve balled when purchasing replica kit. they did say at beginning of season they would not be over stocking, which does make sense when you consider all the puma stuff they had left. i would love ISC to make our kit, not going to happen is it.
well lets get monday over with and get some respect back and then hopefully look forward to a good cup run
