ok I appreciate we are not done with this season but I have a question -

Not sounding negative but lets say we do get relegated, what will the situation be regards to our overseas players, is it correct we are only allowed one in the championship?? Are any of our guys exempt from being classed as o/s??

I know I cold try and look this up but I thought the good people on this board would know the answer.

I don't know but there must be some exceptions. Just look at Sheffield's squad.

Unless it has changed it is one plus unlimited kolpak and EU passport holders. However if relegated I believe all Superleague contracts are null and void so there would be no such thing as "our boys".

If London survive the key decision will be full or part time. Go full time and they should keep those in the squad no-one in SL wants. Go part time it is open season on the squad with other part time teams also in the mix.

However I believe you'd get better experienced northerners if part time. Can't see too many experienced players wanting to move south for a one year contract on Championship money. A quick look at the Hemel, Oxford and Skolars teams will show you there are plenty of northern based lads willing to travel down on match days still.

Obviously with extra Sky money kicking in at level two it's possible the rules re imports will be re-visited.

Probably also worth noting that the salary cap is linked to club income in the Championship going forward. To spend the maximum £1m you will to generate about £2.5m according to press reports. Given all match day revenues go to Barnet I think that may be a bigger issue than the number of imports tbh.

Have the RFL announced yet how its going to work, I thought the whole idea was tier 1 and tier 2 SL

I doubt there will be a club at Barnet next year if we finish 13/14th.......That is why it's so important to get behind these boys now.

The sliding salary cap is new next season, current salary cap is £300k. I'm not aware of any announcements around what the division will be called or revised import levels.

I guess there will be a club as the new boss was given a deal until the end of next year

I'm sure I have read SL contracts are invalidated by relegation.(Makes sense given the lower wage cap.) This may apply to Joe as well.

This confusion and uncertainty for clubs, fans and contracted players highlights what a grave mistake relegation was, is and will be. I fear rugby league is going backwards.

And if Leigh and Batley replace Bradford and LB will Superleague look a better competition?
