I don't want to come across as a typical whinging RL fan, but why did they make it unreserved seating? Surely this will cause problems on Saturday, especially if you re saying season ticket holders can actually take up their seat (even though it says unreserved). What if a group of 3 or 4 fans, unaware of this, get to the stadium early to get a good seat, only for a season ticket holder to come trotting in 10 mins before kick off and demand his seat. The rest of the stand is packed now and these supporters cant get seats together or have to go sit in the corner somewhere.

Can anyone else see this becoming a problem?

there are "Giants Reserved" stickers on any seats that are season ticket holder seats

if in doubt i find most stewards are helpful in showing where some non-reserved seating is

Yep, simply avoid the ones with 'giants reserved' on . the others that jsut say 'reserved' are football ones and therefore unreserved for the rugby.

They are only aloud to sell 90% of actual capacity when seating is unreserved, this is to avoid such problems.

as a general rule, I would say if leeds fans stick to the wings of the stand rather than the middle it will be fine as most giants fans occupy the middle blocks.

If the tickets are unreserved then how has any [iside [/iof the DG been sold out. Once you come in through the designated turnstile you can sit anywhere within that stand.

No you can't - not unless you know the route through the corridors - which will be stewarded!

I walk through there all the time. It's not locked or stewarded usually.

We never usually open the side to away fans. Therefore they'll be a plan in place. I'd suggest you get down early though - especially if you want your usual spot.

The "rat run" is often stewarded when the stand is full at Town games but that's allocated seats. I have seen that if you're usual seat in the south end with a junior ticket you need to swap your voucher prior to the game, so my thoughts are that the "rat run" will be stewarded looking for tickets with turnstiles 13-16. My advice for anyone wanting to sit in that end be the first in though I'm sure the stewards will be briefed as usual that unreserved seats means those seats without "giants reserved" stickers, but even then unless you can prove it's your usual seat it can't be guaranteed especially if folk leave it till the last minute demanding their seat as it's not practical to start shifting folk around when the game is about to start.
I would say Leeds fans only occupy blocks 1,2 and half of 3 only leaving the other half of 3 and 4 for Giants fans but you know this won't happen.

So let me get this straight, its a mixed stand of both sets of fans, unreserved seating etc but people will be stopped from going to sit in a certain are that, given its unreserved, means they should be allowed to ??? sounds like a recipe for some irate customers to me !!

yeah it does seem that its gonna be a recipe for unhappy customers given the reserved seats in an unreserved stand, i now hear that the bottom section is sold out so there wont be many spare seats going, im traveling with 8 and we were hoping to sit together.

what happens if we choose our seats and 2 mins before kick off 1 guy says 'you're in my seat'? - will the stewards insist that all 8 of us move?

Yes, if you are sitting on seats marked "Giants Reserved". A word of advice though, there are 4 sections in each half of the lower Riverside stand, it is very unlikely you will get 8 seats together in the two sections closest to half way, however if you enter by either of the two entrances closest to the traditional away end you will find very few if any "Giants Reserved" seats.

They are only allowed to sell a reduced number of tickets against actual seats (90% iirc), so even if you are late in you should be ok, albeit probably only low down right in the corner will be left.

As I say my advice is Leeds fans to not try and gain seats towards the centre and stick near the try line where it's less likely to find yourself being moved. And as Giantdee has said not occupy a seat stickered with "Giants reserved" even though everyone has unreserved tickets a season ticket holder can still have their seat if they can prove it's their normal seat.

Daz it'll be about controlling the area and no capacity issues, it probably won't work though but we can only try.
