| Biggest disappointment is we don't have centres for next week. Ferres wasted there. Baloo should have played Connor and at least he'd be more ready for next week. Hope it's not too bad but leroy looked in a lot of pain

| We crumble in the face of adversity. We need a Sinfield or an O'Loughlin to lead us. Our props today just weren't up to it. Crabtree MoM? Come on. He himself surely would disagree with that. Jerry for me.

| I always look on the forum but never post but now I've decided to join in the fun.
1st point I would like to make as to why we lost today is Mr Andersons substitution tactics. Why bother putting Johnson the bench if he isn't going to play him? This was never going to be a game that we ran away with and then throw a youngster on. If he isn't good enough don't put him there. It's not fair to him or the rest of the team who have to play extra minutes when there's no need. This seems to be a tactic Anderson likes this season but quite frankly it's shocking.
2nd point, I believe Anderson is unable to come up with an effective game plan and if his orginial one doesn't work there's certainly no plan B! I thought this might be the case with a coach who used to be a prop but thought at least he'll make them aggressive.. I wish! They have no aggression or fight what so ever!
3rd point, I think players look unfit. This may have something to do with point 1 but how many times this season have we thrown away points towards the end of a game?
There's more but the more I think about it the more wound up I'm getting lol thoughts?

| Terrible 2nd half performance! I have just managed to straighten my neck after looking one way for 40 minutes!!
Too many forwards not working hard enough, and how many drop balls!!!
If we play like that next week I dread to think what the score will be.
Warrington were there for the taking, and yet again we failed against the poorest Warrington side I have seen for ages!

Perhaps these are tactics that former Bulls' props have had bred into them?

Probably a good thing because after getting knocked out of the challenge cup we can concentrate on our relegation battle in the league because on our form that's the only battle we are going to be involved in this year.
Can't make my mind up if they are just a lazy bunch at the moment or really really unfit?? That was the most pathetic second half performance I've seen since....erm.....erm.. ever!!

| OK first half,..... shambolic 2nd half ! if you cant complete sets you dont win, simple, that was out downfall.
16 men used yet again, may aswell not name 4 players on the bench sometimes.
ferres at centre as i thought would be, no influence on the game but then he seems to go missing in the big games.
cudjoe out next week now plus wardle
hope you all backed warrington at 13/8, least thats the plus point out of today

| thought broughton had a good game
also kaufusi played well in his first stint, some good runs and offloads, also taai looked alot better in the second row... again all first half because the 2nd half was a waste of time, failed to build pressure/territory... cant complete sets

That's why there were boos from the home fans when it was announced. Which dicks give this award?
Broughton by a mile. Lawrence as dependable as ever. All the rest nowhere near a MOM award.
I think the top teams have worked us out this year. A real test for PA's coaching skills now. Having said that I don't think the players are playing to the game plan. We haven't a clue how to build any pressure - I'd love to see a boring fives drives and a grubber that forces a goal line drop out. Too many penalties and errors lead to too much defending and a last 10 minutes we saw today.
Why try a short kick off with over 8 mins to go and only 6/7 points down?

Because Giants players did quite regularly
'"
Check the timings when I posted this, we were winning the game but you could see Child was trying to influence the result with non existant penalties piggy backing Wire to our line. If you wasnt at the game difficult for you to comment really? Yes the players missed tackles and dropped the ball, fatigue set in with 15-20 to go after defending the 18 tackles on our line after another few of Child penalties, so look at the score and blame the team without seeing the game. Any Giant fan hand on heart think Child had a good game? Someone on Wire site thanking the lord he was their 18th man!! So to sum up no the ref doesnt drop balls or miss tackles but he does have an influence far too many times.

| It's hard to believe it from the scoreline, but I think the Giants were a tad unlucky. For most of the first half and a few minutes at the start of the second, they were in the ascendancy, but nothing seemed to go their way. As well as a few occasions when the bounce of the ball favoured the Wolves, some of the refereeing decisions were very harsh. One of the things Warrington are really good at is getting a quick play-the ball, but on two occasions, from where I was sitting it looked as if the player rushed it and lost control of the ball while getting up - result - penalty for a strip in a two-man tackle! On top of that, such a blatant obstruction near the try line would 9 times out of 10 result in a penalty try and a 10-minute sin bin, but all the Giants got was a penalty (personally, I would have gone for a try and not taken the kick, but that's just my opinion).
When nothing is going your way, it's only natural to lose heart a bit, especially when some of the earlier games this season have been similar. Added to that, Anderson's mystifying decision to only use 3 from the bench, even though Cudjoe had been injured, made it almost inevitable that the Giants would go behind - they were then chasing the game and knackered, resulting in leaking points at the end.
Cheer up everyone - things will probably get better.

| Quote ="Mad_Jack_Mcmad"We were absolutely awful. We have a prop who runs 4 yards and stops before the defence even hits him. We have a half back who thinks an acceptable kicking option is to kick it dead 35 metres from the Warrington line. Another half back who seemed hell bent on crippling our pack with the worst array of hospital passes you will see.
Most of all though we have a team that doesn't seem to want to do the hard work. We seem to want to score 70-80 metre tries. Rather than get to the end of our sets and put pressure on the opposition in their half. The frustrating thing was Warrington weren't great. Their last tackle options were really poor but we simply put them under no pressure whatsoever. Then they started pushing their noses through the line and we gave penalties away but you can't play for 40 minutes without the ball and not get punished. Once they realised that instead of kicking to Joel Monaghan on the last tackle all the time all they had to do was run straight at our defence and someone would obligingly miss a tackle they had a field day. When I say Warrington weren't great credit to Matty Russell and Ben Westwood who had storming games.
You're right the ref had no affect on that game whatsoever. Too many of our players seem to be a bit in love with themselves at the moment.'"
about right it that, although i thought we dealt with westwood fairly well until the last 20 minutes, russell, was a different matter, he caused us problems all day long ( the only wire player who looked dangerous until we gave up!)
the ref had another poor game but apart from the pull back incident, didn't affect the result.as usual, he was frustratingly inconsistent, penalising us ( rightly so) for many offences but choosing to ignore the same offences by them, they also got away with 2/3 knock ons.
but yet again we were in control of a game and stopped doing things, stopped working hard and on the back of 5/6 penalties in a row, wire found a way back and we crumbled, totally crumbled under the slightest bit of pressure from the opposition.
i don't like slating players but kopczak is a waste of a shirt at the moment and would be the first player i would drop, he hasn't made any impact at all this season and looks lazy in defence.
we will probably not get a better chance of beating them, they were there for the taking today and were pretty clueless in the first 50 minutes, but we conceived to lose a game we should have had total control of.
very disappointing, some players need to take a good look at themselves and ask are they giving enough.

A:drunk
Bicon_surprised.gifnly know crabtree's name

i thought ta'ai and kaufusi were our best forwards today, crabtree and kopczak made little impact.

| Before the bullets are loaded I`m definitely not playing the pessimist --but the realist
Once more we do it
1 A game that had a special occasion wrapped in the same paper
A Heritage game to commemorate Albert Rosenfelds try scoring feat after the "Masters" game at Fartown (Really impressed by the numbers that came along to support their old favourites and the reception they got at half time!!)
2 Because of this game there were a fair few "extras" on the attendance -- and a week before the BIGGIE cup tie against Saints (but which is also on TV I gather
3 The prize of possibly taking the scalp of the teams bogey side in front of a fair sized crowd --(and after building a decent first half lead)
4 The opportunity after last weeks France disappointment to convince locals to get behind them next week and come down instead of watching "on the box" ........................and
5 If grinding out a win next week convincing those attending to carry on coming down and hopefully continuing to do so
This is what really bugs me
KD has vowed to do whatever possible to make this club the leading Yorkshire club --but needs to raise the average gate to 10000 plus to help get the sound financial footing to get the squad of players required-and maintain that standard
We HAVE a decent squad -last season proved that
As Ivor has said we dont become a bad side overnight
But we have become an UNDERPERFORMING side very quickly from the level we had achieved .
We never lead in France I believe but that aside,we have NOT built on the leads we have had in several games so far this season Hull KR /Widnes/Leeds and now Wires
In fact we have stopped dead -and let them beat us to the finishing line
Unfortunately -its been embarassingly consistent in THAT respect
Last season it was proven that you get on a winning roll and it feeds itself --sadly the complete opposite can mean you lose the ability to know HOW to WIN (ask Man Utd)
Id feel that Ken , me , and a few others on here would sleep a fair bit easier if we found the former formula again and SOON before the converts gained by last seasons success start drifting away and its left to the faithful again
Sadly that scenario could happen and only the players on the pitch and coaching staff can address it., ---not us or Ken Davy
At Wigan you played enterprising and entertaining rugby Played as a team and looked as though you were ALL enjoying yourselves
Never looked like losing
Now some look totally drained , unhappy, and totally unenthusiastic
Wheres it gone?
Please lads - if you get a lead - go for the jugular and finish the job!--and lets get back on track!
