Seems like an eternity since we last played, I fancy us for this one, we seem to be getting better at grinding games out.

Hoping Cas have one eye on their semi game, Powell does have them well drilled though. Do or die for us, we certainly have more to play for.

would love to see ferguson starting again in the second row.. maybe with taai the other second row and hinchcliffe at loose.

If O Brien is injured then fair enoughbut if not then its ridiculous to leave him out in my opinion. Hinchliffe spelled at hooker is a disaster as showed earlier in the season, hes 10 x the player at Loose.

Possibly Mellor and clough to miss -but it's getting a tough call now we have players back from injury!

maybe leeming can do bigger mins and spell hinchy there to let one of our second rowers come on fresh for impact...

Is obrien now confirmed as injured then?

might just be that we have more players to choose from than at any time this season! team tactics for the game might mean obrien misses out

Leeming is capable of doing 80 minutes- but fresh legs in the middle might help us later on.

Cas are missing Millington, Lynch and McMeeken so our tactics should be to hammer them in the forwards this week so id probably let Mellor and Clough miss as well.

Well can't say it worked. But leeming was my MOM today.
We lost composure in that middle section of the game in attack, and were some truly awful defensive errors both individually and collectively.
I think I can. Honestly say I'm enjoying RL less and less- sick of the play acting and pushing the rules. Don't know if it's because I'm watching a lot of "honest" junior rugby or what. Watched some old RL last week and it truly was a breath of fresh air, less quick and athletic the players may have been, but they had some skill and you got a good honest game without all the messing about. And yes I'm talking about OUR players.

I was sad to see Leeming stay down after Shenton had hit him late, high and from behind but if he hadn't then we wouldn't have got a peep from the ref of TJ

But Cas were an embarrassment to RL tonight with their antics

Both sides are guilty. The whole game is awash with it. I'm getting fed up- and it is honestly putting me off. Can't make salford next week as my lad has a game and the kick off is either 11.00 or 11.30. Which means getting to Salford for 1.30 will be almost impossible. I'm actually not too disappointed
I'm disappointed in tonight- not with the loss itself but the fact cas didn't have to work hard for the win.

How so? Genuinely want to know an opposing fans views as to our antics?

Constant throwing up of the arms by Cas players in attempts to win penalties.

Playing for penalties using players who are trying to get out of the way at the play the ball.

I don't often agree with brian McDermott but he was spot on last night in his post match interview. It's becoming cringy. Cas tonight were top of the league in it . Wigan are masters at it too.

Agree with this about Cas. Before tonight they had my support to win the Grand Final but no chance anymore. That Gail at 7 is an embarrassment with his cheap shots and grabbing and twisting the neck. Plus the professional foul on Jerry when he was trying to get up and play a fast play the ball after his break, unbelievable why gail didn't get sin binned. And there are a few divers in there. Professional is a kind way to describe their style but they absolutely push the rules to the limit and I cannot believe they get away with some things, maybe this has lead to their rise to the top of the league, I don't know haven't watched them enough but that was god awful tonight.

That's a very one eyed view. ALL teams are involved in it- including Giants, and if not encouraged by the coaches, neither is it discouraged from their own players - and mcdermotts darlings are just as guilty! A lot of talk about how poor the refereeing standards are- not at all- it's the fact refs are having to decide what's genuine, what's play acting, and whether to blow the whistle for 1/2, 1 or 2 metres offside by 2,4 or 6 players, because he blows for every infringement the game would take 2 hours.

What annoyed me tonight is that everyone, including Cas, bang on about how they play the game how it 'should be played', ie, fast quick hands moving the ball wide and throwing the ball around etc, which i'm totally for, but yet we tried to play that exact way tonight and Cas didn't like it and tried every trick in the book to stop us, the amount of holding down, messing around in the ruck, standing offside. fair enough they were left to do it by the officials but to me it was contradictory by them, yes we all want to see fast open attacking rugby league but when it's the opposition doing it to them Cas didn't wanna know.

I also agree with Jools in that Rugby League is becoming a very tiresome game to watch, it's becoming a case of try and gain the slightest advantage by any means, which usually means petulant stuff like dropping the ball on purpose to get a penalty, throwing the ball at an opponent, the game has lost it's excitement for me, today it's 13 robots trying to push the boundaries of the rules and fairness to it's limits - worse still this is being coached into them and we wonder why people are drifting away from the game!
