Should be a very good game, you look fitter than last year and have a bit more about you in attack.

Absolutely right jools, there is a lot of improving to do in that dept, But being honest it is just about what i have been expecting, I'm fighting the urge to start expecting massive improvements from them, I will be satisfied to scrape into the 8.
Stone said it would take a couple of years and i agree but there are some good signs as well as some mixed ones.

Gaskell for example looked to have a decent game, but you could fault his positioning on occasions and his lack of pace," or effort to run faster", I'm not too sure why he looked so slow but if he is planned as our fullback he will definitely be in the Wellens style rather than the Prescott one, although Wellens positioning was always first class.

I think it will be a week or two before Stone himself knows what players and style he is going for and what players he is putting where, For me LF just screams out for Hinchcliffe and Lawrence, and Leeming is capable of playing a lot longer. Breirley unless we play to his strengths is a waste of a place, he is never going to create things, and Murphy " like a lot of players we got rid of" is past the standard of taking us forward. I know he is a steady player who rarely lets us down, but we are rebuilding we need to be looking higher, Now is the time to be seeing what every one has to offer, That will take time and will cost games, which wont suit plenty on this board.

Lets see what happens this week, I think we will do well to get the points off Wakey, I'm not in the Wakey are a poor side camp, I think they are going to surprise a few teams, I hope we aren't one of them.

This will upset a few but brierley just isnt good enough for me leaves brough with too much to do in attack and defensively hes like a revolving door. his support play is good when we make a break but thats about it. Personally dont think hes got the skill level needed for super league level.

Does brierley leave brough with too much to do- Or is it just that brough takes over? Brierley isn't really being given an opportunity to do much- just like Ellis wasn't. Ellis seems to be pulling the strings nicely and is leading with a very good kicking game at KR. Something he wasn't given much opportunity to do with us.
Brierley didn't miss a tackle on Thursday night and I can't say I've noticed him revolving - It's our right side edge of magilvary whos the revolver. Everyone keeps blaming his inside men but I'm not convinced- seems to me hes being wrong footed with the inside switch, he's been found out and every team is now utilising it and coming up trumps. I can't recall a competitive game where we haven't conceded down that side recently.

Agree. I've seen nothing particularly wrong with Brierley in defence, also spot on with Mcgilvary.

One of the more intriguing games of the round IMO and one that's not easy to call. Opinion pretty much split on the prediction thread on the Leeds board. An important win for someone, I reckon you'll just have the edge.

it was leroy at fault this week for 2 trys . i have said we are short at HB but i think its to early to call Brierley for me the problem is the back row there was nothing for either HB to work with . but it is still early days our best back row out for weeks is a major blow time for someone else to step up to the plate

We failed to take advantage when we were on top we should have been at least 10-2 up when Salford scored.

When we came right hand side early in the game Lawrence got in the way he either needs to relearn how to run a line or join a line and pass all he does is drive it in head down. Ukuma showed him how to do that in the second half.

We made more metres, similar clean breaks less tackles we had 14 (84 tackles) sets more possession than Salford and yet we conceded that sloppy Johnson try near the end through woeful tackling when Salford should have been tired not us.

Roberts has shown nothing first two games so Smith should get a chance and we can't afford both our runners in the middle hence Ta'ai in the second row. Wakeman needs the game time.

Tommy Symonds is a massive miss he opens up the right hand side as he can drive in or pass and nip in at dummy half now and again.

Several of our forwards need to put their hand up big time on Friday night and sharpen up in the defensive rucks, as does the revolving door that's our right wing combination and it would be nice to have our fastest man backing up instead of trying to be a second playmaker all the time....

We are good enough if we can get it right !!!

Hinchcliffe needs to be kept away from hooking. You looked far better with Leeming on, although his passing left a little to be desired

Rapira should be nowhere near the team on last weeks showing - get him fit first. For mine Smith and Mason should be in for Wakeman and Rapira whom should both be on fitness catch up work until ready.

stella first 2 and brough for the 3rd all got done when obrian came into the line . i could be tempted to move bruno to prop he does hard work in D and drives the ball in . bring mason and smith in for wakeman and repaira not fit but play smith in the back row if what some people have been saying his ball skill have impressed stone maybe its the answer .shame we dont have 2 taais

Thought Smith looked ok in Robbo's testimonal game at loose - i'd be fine giving him a go there.

Problem this year is we have plenty of options and at times it will probably be a case of seeing who can do what where hence the trying people in different positions.
I'm still adamant we need to split Seb and Ukuma up though, as good as they are together we lose momentum and power when they're replaced, in my opinion we need at least one of them on the pitch at all times.

Daz its a tough one they are doing so well as a unit we need the bench to come to the party i think the issue last week was 2 players are not yet fit and loosing our best back row . hope last week was a blip playing our bogey team you could say 7 or 8 where below par but yet we had enough chances and time on there line to win 2 games . this week we need to get back to winning ways

Don't see Ferguson as a front line second row, but I do think he would do a good job at prop, and I would be happy to see Ferguson and Ukuma start with Seb and Mason on the bench. Wakeman doesn't look fit and probably won't see the best from him until late in the season or maybe next. Rapira looked a bit short and may need a bit longer, but don't see him as a loose forward.
Sounds daft so early in the season but for a few reasons we need to win on Friday!

The second to me looked like Wakeman missed the tackle on O Brien. The first I thought Cudjoe was at fault but watching again Cudjoe had come in one place and Sau actually ran between Brierley and Mcgillvary.

I'm fully supportive of Wakeman but scary thought is we don't know what the best of Wakeman actually is at this level of rugby.
I'm hoping IF he is behind in fitness and if it can be worked on off the pitch that he isn't taking the spot of a super league experienced fully fit player, especially at such an important part of the season where we need to hit the ground running.

All we can do is support the team out there no matter how odd the team selection may be. Rick Stone knows more about rugby than any of us I presume.

Wakefield is going to be a tough test. Comfortably beat us last year and did the treble on us. They have a better squad than last year. I'm hoping a week off after only one round will hinder them and we can walk away with 2 points.

I'll be happy with 2 wins in the first 2 rounds. The loss against Salford was round 11 so trying not to think too much into it.

Interesting match indeed. Up until last year you was our bogey team we probably couldn't of bought a win! I think the game break will benefit you as you say more minutes in your players and probably the perfect time to rectify your mistakes of the previous week.
