Grix just looke like cramp to me. Roberts was walking ok when he went off looked like he had taken a heavy knock.
Decent work out and good play in patches. A lot of the players really seem to have bulked up.
We had a quick play the ball from Hinchcliffe and the forwards ran hard. Only disappointment for me was performance of Simpson.

No he didn't play at all when he went off.

If you had been at the game you would know that.

I must have been missing something because I thought Connor was way off the pace - particularly in defence.

I thought that whole side looked shaky in defence- only some poor handling/decisions from Catalan saved our blushes...

Defense wasn't as good as last week but then Cats were a far better attacking side that KR.

We also came up with a lot more errors as well.

Leroy was a strange MOM - I'd have given it to Jerry.

Can't complain at a 26-16 win when not at your best and without Danny.

Thought McIntosh looked a good prospect. Even outdid Leroy with a Leroy out of the back pass to Jerry.

grix looked badly injured but was ok in the end.
roberts was making a tackle and stretching out with his arm to make it, might be ok too.
thought connor had bulked up alot.
yes simpson didnt make a good impression when grix came off

alot of chopping and changing bound to be a few gaps open up in defence, also with a player like carney in the opposition it will happen.

connors defence always been shaky, tried his best to stop broughton going over in the corner but suppose broughton is a good finisher

I agree re McIntosh tbc.Also all the young guns played well.All in all a good run out.

I thought we defended ok against an attack marshalled by Carney and myler.

Nice to see Jodie on form too. Think he will get game time and tries en francais.

Thought we was by far the better team, our forwards outmuscled Catalans and they seemed to only make ground off the back of some dodgy penalties. Thought Connor and Ellis looked very good in the halves and we could have scored more had last pass gone to man. Rapira a massive plus for me a good old fashioned non nonsense ball playing prop forward who will compliment Huby very well. Jerry back to doing what he did all last season and Leroy doesnt get the credit he deserves for giving the quick ball to put Jerry away. Smurph Mr reliable as always and Hinchcliffe very good organiser. Grixy also deserves a mention as went well till got his knock. But the BIG plus was we look 2 yards faster than we did last year. Catalans tipped by many to go well this year but second best Saturday by a country mile

As I say the way he went down in agony clutching his leg and after treatment walked freely off the pitch suggests cramp to me. He also stayed out in the dugout which he would not have done if the injury was a concern.

My money would have been on you Durham....

poor crowd that, hope the club put another friendly on for us next season but cant complain if they dont if fans cant be bothered to watch , costs too much to put a game on.. maybe just openong one stand kept the costs down though

to be fair, it was only a trial/friendly/pre-season game, call it what you want, and although it's nice to watch some rugby after the winter, these games aren't to everyone's liking, added to that, that Catalans aren't exactly glamorous opponents and £15 for adults, it was never going to attract anything like a decent crowd!

again, unless the club can secure a glamorous game and very cheap tickets to entice people, then pre-season friendlies will never attract a good turnout.

Unfortunately our league games don't either
