We have released one or two who were already top Super league players, just not Super enough for the Giants.

Brough has been good enough for every club he has played for right back to his York days. His problems were off field, and credit to the Giants they are the only club to have sorted them.

IIRC Bridge was poached by Bradford when Hudds were relegated. Wasn't he?

| Exactly Bridge was signed by Bradford after we were relegated and all contracts became null and void.
If we didn't want him why did we take him back on short term loan upon our return to super league.
I ask again who we have released that has been a real regret.

| I did struggle to understand why Brown was moved to loose forward when Brough arrived rather than partnering him.

| Ali Davis (not a bad halfback?)!
Micheal De Vere - who could have shown Joe a few centre plays ?
Danny Kirmond ?
Brad?
But it happens --and you move on and adjust -( hopefully )!

| The simple problem with our side is that we play to the level of the opposition far too many times! We cannot translate words in actions, we speak of being ruthless yet cannot follow through with it!
Sunday was a perfect time to show the fans the intent of them going into the super 8's, turn some heads, get people talking about how we look like we mean business, fill the fan base with enthusiasm and belief....what we got was a drab affair! Too few putting in the graft! Our numbers will not grow while the fan base doesn't have confidence or are left frustrated.
The 4500-5000 will always be there and support the boys but everyone from Mr Davy to the fans realise that we need to other 5000 supporters to ensure that our club is competitive for years to come.

| Spot on Adam- especially the bit about filling the fanbase with enthusiasm and belief-
That's exactly what Warrington did this weekend!

| Yup those wire fans will be bouncing! We had much easier opposition than them too!
Too many of these situations the team don't take advantage of! The best example to show how long it's being going on is when we beat Leeds away for the first time in 52 years.... The week after was Salford away! We sold the largest amount of tickets through the Giants , the commentators mentioned several times that there were more Giants shirts there than Salford, Salford were being beaten well week in week out and we go tit for tat scoring and lose! All the belief and momentum lost. The extra 1000 fans that went to that game that don't usually become frustrated

Ali Davies played for us 18 years ago!
De Vere went home after finishing his contract with us
Kirmond - maybe but he is an ok player but not top class
Drew - we got the best out of him and released at the right time.

When you say released at the right time, do you mean the first or second time we released him.

| i agree adam, we were never in danger of losing that game on sunday, i guess people were disappointed that we didn't put on an exhibition, although credit has to go to wakefield for that.
but from our POV it wasn't good, it wasn't a game to get the fans excited, we barely mustered a cheer when we scored, it was like we sat back and waited for the tries to start flowing but didn't happen.
i said at the end of the game that any potential new fans wouldn't have been rushing to the ticket office this week.

1 maybe --but we let him go and signed super Chris Orr
2 He went home because he wasnt offered an extension after regaining fitness
3 Your view -but I believe was nominated for man of steel short list
4 Indeed - but released him at the right time --and then brought him back again ? Mmmm!
You obviously dont agree Stella --but its my opinion

| Yes of course it is opinion and we are all entitled to that. I agree with you on Ali Davies but did say in the last ten years. We were a poorly run club back then. Kirmond was nominated for man of steel i just dont rate him that highly although he was poorly treated by Nathan Brown. De Vere was good but well past his best and probably not worth the salary he would have wanted for a new contract. Drew we got the best in his first spell and he did little at Wakey and was a shadow of his former self in his second spell.
