What a pointless interpretation of stats that is in this argument.
Kirmond played 17 games, Ablett played 27 games including 3 play off games. Ablett also played 3 of those games at centre. I know you, and you are not daft in the slightest, so you know the play off games have far more intensity than a normal super league game. You also know normal super league games towards the back end of the season are much more intensive than earlier in the season. That is when less metres and less busts are made.
Kirmond's stats are not comparable to Abletts. What would be comparable is if you took Abletts stats agains the same 17 teams that made up Kirmonds, providing most of those are not at the back end of the season. Then you would have a fairer outcome.
But as much as I or you whatever like Kirmond as a player, you ask either coach and they would have Ablett in there in an instant.

Rubbish. McLellan would have Ablett and Brown would have Kirmond. They are different players with different qualities. Comparing them like some sort of dick measuring competition is pointless. Both of them are decent.

| Fair play to Gotcha. Not only does he know what he knows, he knows what PONNER knows and what Nathan Brown knows as well.
I particularly like the way he throws in a bit of an ego rub there to try and stop any comeback:
"I know you're not stupid so no doubt you MUST agree with me when I say that you are wrong".
Epic. Fail.
I'd love to see the proof regarding your assertion on all games at the back end of the season and that less metres, busts etc are made.
I wonder how we managed to beat teams such as Hull (24-0), Wigan (48-16) and Catalan (36-12) without making good metres, numerous busts and line breaks.
Equally one has to wonder how Leeds managed to put 76 points on Cas. Could Cas only raise 10 men or something? I also recall Leeds play off game against Hull KR. That second half was a walkover.
You really need to be able to back up your assertions because if you don't it looks like you're talking a load of trousers and are using reasoning pulled out of mid-air to try and dismiss the stats. Stats are just stats but I feel quite sure that if Ablett came out looking better than Kirmond you'd be extolling their virtues. He doesn't though, does he. Interesting that.
The reality is that it's not just the time of year that dictates a games intensity. It is the opposition. The two teams relative performances. Form. A whole plethora of variables that I'm sure if you get on to that private line to Nathan Brown you seem to have he'll only be too happy to tell you all about.

| Ablett is very good player for a champion squad. Very consistent, plays smart and can slot in several positions. More over he will be very good value for money. This frees up money for the blue chip players like Webb / Buderus / Eastwood. Also Ablett is one of those players who could almost certainly earn more at a different club but chooses to play at a club where he is happy and playing quality rugby.
Comparing him with Kirmond is not too meaningful. A comparison with Wild is more apt. Both athletic and able to play back row / centre. I would say Wild is a better player. However he is not twice as good as Ablett - who probably earns less than half of Wild's salary. Kirmond is a more explosive player than Ablett and more likely to deliver 2 x 20 mins spells and be a more destructive runner.

Well here's hoping the supposed "crappy little club" beats your "champions" and a little arrogance is knocked out of children like you.
To be honest I couldn't give a monkeys about how good/bad Ablett is and I doubt many people outside Lids do either.
Have a safe journey over on sunday, and hope you're eating humble pie for supper, although I very much doubt people like you do humble.

Here in the land of reality your point was ripped to shreds, you've been unable to justify it and so it doesn't stand at all!

Thank god for that - a bit of sense. The last 3/4 pages on this thread has been childish bickering which brings utter non sense.
Its going to be a great game on sunday. You have 2 mobile packs and some very pacey backs. You can be sure that Leeds are going to be full of confidence after Fridays display. Against Melbourne we stood toe to toe with the worlds best. Best team to come out of the NRL in a long long time. Leeds took confidence from that and put a cricket score on Quins. When you have Internationals thoughout the squad that are playing with confidence then that spells danger for the next opponents. Anyone that thinks Leeds will go 10 steps backwards and put in a performance like we did against Wakey, Salford and Crusaders can think again! Having said that it is going to be very difficult to break your defence down and score enough points to win the game in your own backyard.
If there is any side in SL that can destroy the Giants this weekend then its Leeds. If the Giants let Leeds have any room then it will be a steam train. On the other hand if there is any side in SL that can frustrate Leeds and limit the space they have then its the Giants.

He said internationals. That means GB, England, Australia, New Zealand, France. Anything other can not be described as International.
I think you have 4 or 5 don't you? not including a non existing international in Hodgson.
