If he does sign for you, then you have a potentially very good FB. He has royally sheeite on my club by listening to some very poor advice imo, which has soured the memory's he had created.

So according to Ryan Brierleys personal friend Frosties (a Leeds fan), Ryan was supposed to sign for Leeds if Leigh didn't get promotion- neither happened, the new angle was that he'd been loaned back to Leigh and signed for Leeds for 2017 season, all that doesn't wash with the statements either Ryan or the Leigh club have made in recent weeks.
The latest gem is that Leeds are talking to hudds about us allowing to take brierley for 45k and Ryan isn't happy.









So basically according to this chap Leeds want us to pay them 45k for a player that they can't have signed without making an illegal approach. Yeah course we will pay you for that privilege

Let me get this straight then from what i've read....We are supposedly signing a player from LEIGH, who doesn't even want to sign for us anyway but are having to pay LEEDS for him ???.
Can someone actually explain how that can happen ?? i am presuming Brierley is still a Leigh player so surely we'd pay any fee to them ?

Spot on, but don't dare doubt it like I did on the Leeds board otherwise you'll upset a few. The original story was daft enough of him coming to us if Leigh didn't get promoted last year as Leeds would never do a deal like that as they wouldn't potentially know until the Million Pound Game in October (as it turned out Leigh messed up the Middle 8's a bit sooner) whether he'd be joining and if he'd be adding to our salary cap next season at a time we were making several additions to rebuild the squad.

When it didn't happen no explanation was made, just that the deal was changed to him being loaned back to Leigh this year alledgely even though why would Leeds agree to such a change when Sutcliffe suffered a season ending injury mid-season and was a doubt to be ready for the start of this season.

I actually don't doubt Frosties genuinely heard these things from Brierley, but that says more about Brierley and it's become so obvious that what Brierley's been going around telling people and the truth are two very different things.

haven't seen anything of Brierley (yet) to suggest he is anywhere near good enough for SL, and to suggest Ellis can't lace Brierley's boots is a tad disrespectful. Ellis has been a regular for top 4/5 teams in SL and has done fine for both us and cas!, Brierley on the other hand, like the rest of the Leigh team, went missing and their backsides fell out when they had to lift their game another level, week after week.

I have heard that he won't be played in the halves anyway.

According to the Leigh owner, Huddersfield made =#FF0000LEIGH two offers for Brierley, after he, (the Leigh owner) had discussed with Paul Anderson and Keiron Purtill, what their intentions were. (Ryan had mentioned that Huddersfield and the two Hull clubs were interested in him)

The Leigh owner said that the Huddersfield coaching set up had discussed Ryan, for 2017, (after his current contract with =#FF0000LEIGH expires) as a full back. Our owner then spoke to yours, who made the two (rejected) offers.

All the above is available to watch/listen to on Leigh Centurions TV - and would suggest that Ryan is currently a contracted =#FF0000LEIGH player.

So is the suggestion that Brierley is actually secretly a Leeds player on loan at Leigh then ? not sure something as that would be kept quiet ! surely someone would have known about this and reported it ?? Sounds like something the RFL should be poking their noses into if these 'suggestions' are serious !!

That's the claim but I think the going ons with Brierley and Leigh over the last few weeks clearly show he isn't on loan there......but some love to appear "in the loop" even when the story falls apart and refuse to believe what they were told was flat out incorrect.

People forget that nothing is sure until the contract is signed. Darrell griffin being an example. He had agreed to sign for Saint Helens, terms were set, arrangements made....... Then he changed his mind at the last moment and signed for Leeds. just because a club has shown an interest and made an offer doesn't mean it's going to happen!

Oh, sorry thought you were insinuating that Leeds had 'signed' Ryan without Leigh's knowledge.
If such a transfer has happened its strange how no one within the media or people 'in the know' have not said anything considering it would be quite a story if it had happened.

True and just one of the reasons why I and several others on the Leeds board have dismissed the various stories posted on there regarding Brierley.

The belief is that Leeds have signed Brierley without Leighs knowledge, last season to come into effect Nov 2016 at the end of his contract.

If anything goes 'titsup' prior to the contract coming into effect it would have to be produced signed and dated.

why would Leeds (GH) would put themselves in that stupid position. The contract if it actually were to exist would be absolutely meaningless - worth poop.
Neither side can be held to it - They can't turn round and say- er actually you made an agreement with us when they would be admitting an illegal approach was made by doing so.
"Deny any wrong doing" Having a written contract would be proof of wrongdoing so it will not exist!!!!!
So a verbal agreement may have been made- but again that's worth poop as either side can back out.
So basically it's all a pile of dog do. Like Ellis to Leeds nailed on- by, who I am led to believe, the same source!!!!
