Just ignore the troll, he will go away.
One of our major problems is we have a winger who cannot catch a ball. Broughton has a superb jump and consistently gets up high for the ball but has no idea how to catch it. I don't recall him ever catching a high ball, so anybody calling for him to play FB is asking for trouble.
And Cudjoe and Wardle need to learn when they should stay in the defensive line.

| You mean like the 40-20 that Jerry stopped but was given anyway?
I barely noticed the ref for once so I think he had a good game. Cas deserved their win, they were the better side.

| Stand by what I said giants should have had a penalty for Carneys head high shot on Connor and and Mcgilivary stopped a 40/20.?what decisions went against Cas?

| The linesman made some shocking decisions against both Cas and Hudds. Connor was great but although Bailey scored 2 i thought he slowed the distribution down as he seemed to have a look to see if he could go himself at most PTB's and thus lost half a second. You played your part in making it a great game but i thought Ferres (I rate him very highly) started to lose it a bit late on and was lucky not to have been penalised more than he was. Brough would have made a tremendous difference tonight and if i could have any 2 players from your team it would be him and Wardle. i'm sure when you get the missing players back you'll kick on again. Great to see 2 Cas lads coaching 2 teams who are doing well.

I thought Connor slipped to his knees as Carney came in which made it seem high but Carney went in with arms bent to wrap up Connor rather than swinging a stiff arm.

| Never expected to win today so reasonably happy - as usual though we are our own worst enemies, too much dropped ball and avoidable penalties conceded.
That said we could have sneaked it and looked good at times - just beaten by the better team on the day.
Connor was terrific, thought Leeming showed some promise and good distribution. We need to get Murph back asap - at least to put some pressure on Cudjoe and Broughton.
Onwards and upwards - will watch the TV coverage tomorrow with gritted teeth!

| Connor looks like he could be something special to me and it was a shame we didn't get to see more of Kruise in attack because the giants were mainly defending by that stage. I agree that Bailey's distribution was way too slow.

I agree stella, the lad is still growing and I believe he will be a first rate centre but only time will tell.I was also impressed with Leeming.

| having been at the game and feeling disappointed with the result and certain aspects of the performance, but equally pleased with the response, and having watched it back on sky here are my thoughts.
we played well in patches,we played poor in other patches, so did cas, what let us down i thought was basic individual errors and bad decision making at crucial times, and of course missed tackles!!
myself and daz both said we were poor defensively and we were at times, but other times we stood up well in defence, it was just we made bad mistakes at crucial times and on our line that enabled them to score those early 2nd half tries. the milner, finn and mariano tries in particular were very poor defensive efforts either bad reads from defenders or in the case of mariano's try, a failure to wrap him up properly, 3 men on him and not one of them wrapped up the ball, 2 round his legs and one up top who got pushed off, for milner's try, the marker got caught out and for finn's try, leroy shooting out created the space for shenton.
we also made a couple of bad decisions in attack, i said at the game we lacked composure at both ends which cost us.
but actually all in all, it wasn't that bad... apart from the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half there wasn't much in it, our sloppy defence in those 15 minutes cost us , don't forget that cas didn't take the lead until right on half time, through and error on our line, they then blew us away in that 15 minute spell, and but for the width of broughton's heel we were right back in it.
effort and the response was a whole lot better than last week, like i said, basic individual errors and lack of composure ultimately cost us.
but cas are a good side and give them space to play like we did and they will punish you, not many teams will go there and put 30 points on them, so it's frustrating that our defence let us down.

| also as well, to put it into perspective we were missing grix, brough, murphy, fauimu, chan and lunt, 5 players who are experienced first teamers and 3 of our main pivots.
i thought the guys who came in,connor, leeming, kaufusi and mullally did themselves no harm at all last night.

| Great game for the neutral but not so much as a fan of either side. So frustrating.
For ourselves, we just can't seem to control or respect possession. Too many mistakes as a result of silly play or from being too flamboyant with the ball. That second half spell blew you away and perhaps gave us too much of an advantage.
Thought we'd thrown it away but twice in two weeks we've been saved by a decision going our way. If the game had not been televised the ref would have gave Broughton's try.
What puzzled me - not sure about you guys - is why you went for a long kick off with 11 mins remaining and only 8 points behind.
Then with 10 seconds remaining you went for a short kick off with the game lost and 14 behind. Silly?

| Last week i was angry with our performance this week simply frustrated......why have we, after 20 games or whatever still not learnt from the mistakes we were making in games 2,3,4 etc...eg:
not to try and score on every tackle....build pressure !
constantly kicking the ball straight into oppositions hands allowing them time and space to run.
ambling up to the defensive line or standing still and letting them come to us, allowing opposition forwards time to build up a head of steam therefore our attempts to grab their shoulders, which seems to be our way of trying to tackle, are next to useless meaning they simply crash through.
Not fighting for a quick play the ball, every team does it to us, we just lay there !!
Giving away the same stupid penalties week after week for the same thing, tackling in the air is one we're particularly guilty of.
Cas are a good team but lets remember we were top of the league last year and people saying they're happy with that.....we should be performing to a standard where we are disappointed at any defeat not coming away happy cos we scored 30 points, or didnt lose by 50 etc. Maybe it's just me but i was not happy with that on Friday i thought we were poor collectively again but i got shot down for saying it because there was more 'effort' this week.
10 years ago i would have accepted losing heavily with 'effort' but we should not be accepting it these days, we know we are better than that and should have higher expectations from a team who we all expected to kick on from last year.
BTW i'm taking nothing away from Cas who, under Powell, have become a very good team !!

a lot of things we are doing at the moment are silly, we seem to have forgotten to do the basics right and seem to want to do the flashy stuff without doing the basics first.

| I don't think we were very good at all, and if that was "better from Cudjoe" how badly has he been?
We were poor for long periods, the first 20 minutes of the game I don't think either side did much to score, you capitalised on a carney error with a soft try, and then an interception, Sneyd's kick return although a good try was one lapse in concentration - It was a poor start to the game for me
The fortunate try before half time changed the game, We weren't at our best, but we were able to make hay down Cudjoe's side with Shenton - Cudjoe made shenton look like Greg Inglis!
We will have to be better than that, 5 poor weeks now from us, but we are building our performance slowly for the end of the season
For your guys, everytime I see Connor i rate him, looks a star in the making, and Mullally was a handful. Not a game either coach will be happy with, but it was 2 points
