From the far side, I thought you'd get a better perspective on it and may, counter-intuitively, been a better place to make the call from. Fundamentally though, the three on-field officials used the available systems to confer with one another and make the right decision.

Good point well put if the ref is not certain use his touch judges and he should be praised for doing so and perhaps the first touch judge told him he thought it was forward but wasn't sure so get the other one involved and try to get the right call.

The fact that all the officials confer and use all the tech they have to get a call right sets them above other sports.

We shouldnt question them when they do that and get it right, but wonder why they dont do it all the time

I like the Australian method where the referee gives his decision (try or no try) and the video referee can only over rule if there is conclusive evidence the call was wrong. To be fair most of the referees calls are shown to be correct after the video referee's decision and it stops the buck passing so often seen in this country.

just had a look on superleague website. 28 missed tackled suggesting the defence was far from great although it must be said a lot of the misses were in the right half of the pitch.The goal line defence was decent.

Those stats look dubious, we had 2 penalties back to back after about 70 mins so how Hull gave 1 per SL stats I don't know.

Wardle got through alot of tackles for a centre

Taai 15 tackles is pretty good considering the short length of time he was on the pitch- 15ish minutes certainly not over 20. Cording too- he made 20 tackles.
only three errors is the most pleasing - not sure what brough did wrong- apart from miss a kick which would have had me bang on with my prediction!

Penalty count Hull received 6 and Giants 2 (1st not till 68th minute which was absolute joke) Don't want Bentham anywhere near another Giants game.

A bit unfair that - I thought he did ok really- I mean he could have done a child and never taken his whistle out of his mouth - number of times we were offside- ferres was the worst culprit! He got most things right.

That's all we ask, never get it with Bent Man though. We don't want any preferential treatment just unbias from the ref to ensure the best team wins the game.

What I want from the officials is for them to police the rules as best they can. If that ends up with a lop-sided penalty count, so be it. Maybe some teams need to work harder on their discipline.
