You clearly have an issue with all things Leeds. Which makes this post stink of sour grapes. The programme money doesn't go back into the club? Beer money doesn't go back into the club? Where does it go? And if thats the case, is it different at Huddersfield and all other SL clubs?

I have no issues with Leeds as a club.

In fact I’ve been to more Leeds academy/reserve fixtures this year than I have been to Huddersfield’s. I was at Stanningley to watch Leeds v St Helens academy last weekend. Cracking match as well!

In terms of the beer money at clubs I think you’ll find that the majority of clubs employ outside caterers to sell food/drinks and Leeds in no exception. The club may get rent from these companies but it will be nowhere near what the company makes on the beer.


I was not comparing Huddersfield to Leeds as its exactly the same at the Galpharm.

Can't make it this weekend, but I must admit it's not one of my favourite grounds I usually travel to. Hoping for a win and will be gutted I missed it after all the soakings I've had and the defeats I've had to endure, but never mind it can't be helped.

Clearly Leeds are an exception - the catering vans are outside contractors but the public bars definitely are not.

Whatever you think about Leeds Hetherington doesn't p*ss money away, as your comedy outrage about ticket prices would seem to indicate. OTOH Leeds have to, and do, turn a profit whereas I'm guessing the accounts of Huddersfield wouldn't make such good reading. It's easy to have "cheap" ticket prices when supply massively exceeds demand and the fella who owns the club is happy to go on footing the losses year after year. For Leeds neither of those are the case.

You have just quoted somebody who has used the word "guess" once in his post. Lots of guesses? He clearly knows the state of the Leeds' accounts, they are there for all to see if you pay the tenner or whatever it is to Companies House

It would be a fair assumption to make that Leeds' financial situation is far, far healthier than Huddersfields, so what he says makes perfect sense. Doesn't it.

I don't like to make assumptions based on what other people post. If I were that bothered I'd go and find out the information for myself. Seeing as all this is just a load of internet posturing though I don't think I'll bother.


We have a stadium of which the capacity is well in excess of the highest average crowd in the league. Of course we have spare seats, any club would in our ground.

We have a rich backer. We are lucky. There isn't a club in the land that wouldn't welcome having someone like KD involved.

We lose money, Davy has said himself he has to put into the club something of roughly equivalent value to selling a large house. Of the entire SL how many clubs are making money? Two? Three, tops?

And I suspect the same can be said for football clubs in the top flight too.

Simple economics is simple.

It isn't as if Leeds don't offer cheap tickets. They do.

It would be foolish not to, hence the season ticket "perk" of bringing a mate to a game for free (excluding cat A games

) and the rather nifty £10 adult free child ticket thats knocking about.

+ there are always a few freebie tickets for the kids floating around too.
