warrington did not take their foot off the pedal - we had them rattled in the second half. If we had shown the same defensive effort in the first half we could have won that game. Disappointed with the lack of yards our forwards made last night not good when a winger makes more yards than your prop forwards! LOD had a shocker!

Very harsh on LOD worked his socks off. Some bizarre refereeing, a superb Warrington start, poor defbence and no bounce of ball were all factors last night.

Could have stolen a draw but best team by a mile won.

i think we are now fighting for 3rd with saints/catalans, which is disappointing considering we have been right up there all season.
i dont think it was a case of wire taking their foot of the gas, we showed some fight and found a little bit extra in the 2nd half,and had it not been for our errors/penalties could have sneaked an unlikely win/draw.credit to the guys for that but our woeful defending in the first half made it too hard.

Yeah how one of your players never got sin binned is baffling.

Wire blew us away in the first 30 minutes and there was no chance of us coming back from that.....though credit the lads they came out and put up a fight last night.
I think what last night and Wigan have shown is how far we actually are away from those two....they both got rolls on us early and we had no answer to them, if we want to be up there we have to learn to compete with these teams in the 1st part of games.
Disappointed but were still up there and still working hard just need to find a bit more to claim top 4 !!

Just to start off - once again your fans were brilliant. I had a great time in your stand.

As for the game - I thought first half, Wire were brilliant. Carvell and Wood in the forwards were making a lot of meters and when you have the class of Wire gaining good field position they can tear you apart.

Your discipline in the first half didn't help your cause, but I thought the man with the whistle was harsh and very inconsistent.

Second half was a vast improvement, but if I'm honest, from 22-0 down, I didn't think you ever had enough to win the game. You completed your sets better towards the start of the second half and I thought the half-back/stand-off combination was starting to work well.

Wire made it a lot more difficult from themselves than it had to be and fair play to you, you exploited their mistakes very well.

I think 2nd is a bit too much to ask for you guys now, but I think your way ahead of Saints this season and you'll finish 3rd.

All the best for the rest of the season - hopefully we'll be in Super League next season, as we always look out for our away fixture we you guys - brilliant fans !

I also don't think we took our foot off the gas, what i think happened is, we go in to half time 22-0 up and come out and think we can try either exibition stuff or take unnecessary risks, i think what happened was we didn't respect the Giants enough in the 2nd half.

giants were shocking lastnight, worst ive seen us play for a while at that includes wigan game, wire should of been 40 points up at half time.

o'donnell had his worst game for us.... giants are slowly going backwars this season, we were playing better last season and at the beginning of the season.

at the moment we are way off the top two teams and the way we are going will end up in 5th with saints (who we have to play away yet) and catalans breathing down our necks.

needs a massive turn around and quick, hopefully brough being back will help

i think going backwards is a bit harsh. we have been soundly beaten by the best 2 teams in the comp recently, plus injuries and players playing out of position so i think to still be 3rd at this stage of the season is still a great achievement. i'm not sure what people's expectations were this season but i'm more than happy where were at at the moment.

Indeed lets do a post mortem on the season when it's dead. We still have a shot at two trophies. It was nice to beat Wire twice but there was always going to be a time when we lost to them. Losing at the HJ isn't the worst thing in the world. No disrespect to either of those sides but our losses to Crusaders and Wakefield were far more disapointing.

after watching the rerun on sky,i agree, the refereeing was very inconsistent, yes we were guilty of messing about numerous times but so were warrington, it was even mentioned on commentary how thaler caned us. i've no problem with giving penalties away if our players are messing about, but there wasn't much difference to what we were doing to what warrington were doing, very frustrating.
as for brearley's comments about going backwards, we have been beaten by the best 2 teams in their own backyards, hardly a major crisis is it? as long as we hit form come september then thats all that matters now.

We played a lot better last night than at Wigan. Trouble was, the opposition was also a lot better!

The ref had no choice, you were being completely outplayed and whilst adopting spoiling tactics and trying to slow the play the ref had no choice but to penalise you. To be honest I thought you got off lightly and O'Donnell could have easily been binned. When you were actually in the game in the second half and got on top for a period of time Wire did the same and were penalised accordingly, I thought the ref handled it well and was fairly consistent for a change.

It's not so much the penalties he awarded against us, it's the penalties we [ididn't[/i get in the same period that bothered me, particularly with the rake/strip/whatever you want to call it. Now don't get me wrong, we were 2nd best in every department; but the rules are the rules and I thought that Thaler missed a bit. I also thought that in the 2nd half we benefitted a bit from the same sort of thing.

Don't need to fella I could see perfectly well the ref telling your captain after yet another infringement don't he spoke to ours.

im happy that we are getting these performances out of the way, its not gonna happen for rest of the season we are too good of a side for that.

so if we get spanked twice now by wigan and warrington and play our best against them in the play offs or maybe cup semi/final which ever then i would prefer thatwe have got our selves in a brilliant position entering the buisness end of the season with only saints and leeds left to play which we can win build up momentum like we did going into the play offs last year and hopefully get to OT this time .

but im not concerned as a team with the two defeats if you dont turn up wigan and warrington will do that to anyone soo just need to crack down and hope brough coming back can lift the team

Mostly agree with what you say on here mate,but in this case have to totally disagree.If LOD had not have been on the field it would have been a blow out score for Warrington.LOD's effort was unreal.If we had 13 LOD's on the field we would win every game 100+ against nowt.



Eorl's the key imo,he's needs to get back to the top quality direct running,one off the ruck,at the mo he's reverted back to the step and offload stuff before collision.

Saying that,the back up forward options to Eorl,Griff & Mase are not good enough,and can't move in and do the job.So we have to hope Eorl gets his best form back very quick.

Even the dozy sky commentators were saying we deserved penalties. 'Two sides' and all that.

What angered me was the first tackle we put in,Bruno on Bodgy,absolutely nothing in it,a slight 'arm pit grab' as they got to their feet,then I knew Thaler had been influenced.Had that been a Wire player slightly wrestling in a similar style,would we have got the pen,no way in the wide world.

Think LOD is a great leader for our team and his workload is fanastic. After his first dropped ball carry that Brett scored from, he could have chosen to hide, but he didn't. Kept taking the ball again and again, and the longer the game went on the more dominant he became.
I thought thaler ( who had a poor game, not that that affect the result) was going to send him off at one point, but LOD again did not hide.
He's a great player, and will be a rock for the success we will have over the next few years - worth every penny, dollar....
