There are two sides to his game though, He is generally safe under the high ball, and he backs up well, I see the point about his organization as well. The other sides of his game are not so good, Running the ball up is very very poor, and one on one tackling is more or less a forgone conclusion, How many times do you see Grix layed out thumping the floor with frustration, having been stepped, while the ball is being placed over the line.
I do agree that we have had no one better to play there up to now , Murphy is safe and a better tackler, but in true Fartown style he doesn't get more than a couple of games there at a time. I will be surprised if we see Grix again in C and Gold, he is not our future, as gets said about other players what other side would he get into.

| Ive been debating the Brough tackle with Jools all week.
This is what our coaches have said :-
Unfortunately, Mason Caton-Brown, who returned to the squad to replace Greg at Huddersfield Giants on Easter Monday has sustained a severe lower leg injury and will need surgery that will see him out for 8-12 weeks.
Mason sustained the injury from a forceful cannonball type tackle in the 52nd minute of the game on Monday, which has halted his return to first team games.
Head Coach Ian Watson said, ‘We’re disappointed that the tackle on Mason has been cited by the disciplinary but no further action has been taken. We have asked the RFL to look over the incident again and have been told there’s no case to answer.
‘Lots of coaches have raised the issue of cannonball type tackles and that they should be outlawed as they’re extremely dangerous and this is what’s happened here.
‘We’re not happy about it but we’ve got our hands completely tied and nothing more can be done. It’s disappointing as a young lad is now facing a long period on the sidelines at a time when he had a great opportunity to play first team games.’
On the incident, Director of Rugby Tim Sheens added, ‘While already being held by two other opposition players Mason is hit with a forceful cannonball style tackle to his lower legs.
‘Our priority is to look after the welfare of our players and these type of reckless and careless tackles should carry serious consequences.’
Unlike Rangi - No Ban but Baloo should `throw the book` at him in the view of the Salford coaches.

| The Brough tackle that was deemed ok on the day and in review ?
Different kind of tackle to Chase's, Ferres was stood still and Chase purposefully targeted his leg, this was a case of Brough just bringing a still moving man to ground, he didn't aim for a particular area he just grabbed his legs and brought him to ground, unfortunate if an injury has occured but we can't just ban people because a player got injured in a tackle !.

you haven't been debating the tackle with me all week- you came on here demanding I comment, but failed to come back when the judgement of an independent panel was given as no charge. When I commented as such on your board you made a misogynistic comment.
Haven't you got better things to be moaning about? Like housewives or something????
Koukash spends half his time complaining about the RFL so folk have stopped listening. Probably including them. Nothing to see here. Brough will be playing on Sunday.
You've got more to worry about than one player injured with 2 RFL investigations into the goings on at your club which are going to involve fines and potentially all your points.
No doubt you will be back on here in June - I'd like to say I'll be going to the return fixture but given the trouble caused by your fans at our last two meetings I think I'll keep my family safe and give it a miss.

Why??
Yeah he`s worth a crack at full back( we know hes a half back ) but whatever
The season might be looking a right off --but WHY WHY WHY add to our problems ?
Lets get some stability and rescue what we can and get as far up that b--y table as we possibly can by playing our best available fit players (even the youngsters if need be) in their "comfort zone" established positions instead of
mix and match!
WE AINT GOT THAT LUXURY and if you wanna experiment with lads in different positions to where they were that got them signed up - then Ill probably bump into you at Keighley next season (my opinion only but its a forum)
PS Always saw Alex Murphy as a full back!! goodness knows why GB never tried him there! ......and Brett hodgson - what a scrum half he COULD have been !!
and to stimulate debate --I believe Escaret would be better at stand off!

That seems to be the way the game is going sadly. One of our players (Wakey) tackled Adam Swift a few weeks back -nothing malicious- and sadly he got injured. But then Cunningham the scouse mong whined and our played received a ban. With the Brough tackle, again I don't see any intent to injure unlike Rangi Chases last year.

| Exactly, people are looking at the injury these days rather than the actual tackle. Unfortunately sometimes players get injured when being tackled it's part and parcel of the game and to want to ban players because a guy they tackled got injured is ludicrous.
Understand where the Salford lot are coming from after the big furore surrounding Chase last year but i don't think they understand that the 2 tackles were completely different, Brough's wasn't an ilegal tackle, Chase's was - unfortunately both times the tackled player got injured.
