an amazing stat, is that we've been awarded just 3 penalties in the last 3 games,, thats THREE penalties per game


that's interesting, is it because:

A, all the teams we play against are ridiculously clean in rugby league terms and give very few penalties away
B, that as DG said on the child thread, that we need to "play the ref's" more
C that we aren't deemed worthy of penalties
D just the way of the world
E something underlying going on?

Durham you don't get it do you? rugby league as most sports has rules, the rules are there for a reason, I see you are knocking the players for not been able to string 2 passes together, very difficult with the opposition stood in your line due to been a yard offside. you also don't get that teams should not have to adapt to the ref,they should be able to confidently play their normal game and if that's bending the rules they should expect to be penalised for it. The game now is garbage due to refs like Child and Bentham and the RFL rewarding all this wrestling rubbish that goes on and has slowed the game to snails pace. Needs a massive shake up from top to bottom

We don't seem to be getting any help from the refs at all at the moment but we need to start helping ourselves. Complete some sets, don't whinge at the ref when we cop a bad call because when it comes to an egotist such as Bentham all it does is make him worse.

We need to just focus on completing our first 5 sets of each half. No dumb passes, no fancy plays. Get a feel of the ball in your hand and a good kick at the end of it with a good chase. Play in their half and look to dominate the pitch a bit.

been trying to figure out why we have been on the rough end of the pen counts for a few seasons now, try not to complain about the ref too much as some people can but it does seem strange

but i also think we dont help ourselves, we dont complete sets, its a basic thing to do in rugby league and the only time we did this consistently was 2013 when we won the LLS, ever since its been the same old dropping balls etc.. and the same old thing we hear after almost every game but it still goes on

Whether the game needs a shake up or the RFL need to do something about reffing is out of our control.

What the team need to do is play whats in front of them on any given day.

If we are dropping the ball because the other team is a yard offside then why dont we stand a yard offside and get them to drop the ball

because we get penalised for it.

like we saw yesterday, the same offences were committed by both sides and only one side got penalised, how can you legislate for that?

Phil mr wigan was on about refs on the sky sports web site people on here should reed it as he thinks how the games is being controlled is becoming a major problem . As a team we need to show them more respect Brough fing and jeffing is only going to give them the hump. As a club its up to Ken and co to work on member clubs to support a motion of no confidence in Rimmer and co in how they run the game as for Sharpe and Ganson

He gets frustrated because he's not getting the space, time or quality of ball he needs.

Put a rocket up the of our pack, get them to do their jobs, and Brough will quiet down with the referees because he'll be able to play.

Worst nightmare come true, it is that buffoon child again. Hope they've shown him the footage from the Salford game to help him identify what a piece of disgusting play looks like so he can maybe do something about it if it happens again.

he struggled to control the players because yet again, he bottled making decisions, 3 times in less than 10 minutes our players were hit late, twice by Wilkin in the space of 2/3 minutes then another by Amor a few minutes later, all he had to do was brandish the yellow card and that would have been enough, but he chose not to, and yet again had to have the TJ make a decision for him, how Masoe wasn't red carded for that challenge on Ellis i will never know, it should have been a straight red, but yet he had to consult the touchies as to what to do.

Not to mention the chicken wing on Mose, Huddersfield playing permanently offside, head high shots all over the pitch, wilkin taken out off the ball, lifting of the legs. Players tugging shirts and diving here there an everywhere.

The players from both sides ruined that game with gamesmanship all over the pitch. It was an aweful display, but the ref could have pinged almost every tackle. Both attackers and defenders were playing for penalties. The only difference between first and second half was that child got wise to Brough trying to ref it for him.

We can call the ref all we like but some of the play acting was aweful.

i agree, childs lost it, he could have sorted it out in the first 15mins when saints were just getting away with everything but bottled it and thats why we got the game we got because he didnt take charge

You must be joking Huddersfield are the new footballers of this league, diving and pulling jerseys all over the shop. Seems if you can't score just roll about on the floor and get a penalty.

Luckily second half we wised up to the game and started doing it back to Huddersfield. Made for an awful display.

the best dive was from wilkin ! went down like an italian footballer then up after the ref stopped play and straight away in the refs face and laughing

I'm surprised Brough did not challenge on the drop goal. I'm sure he could have swayed him that it did not go over.
